Trying to make out what Pop is telling LMA as they are walking in... sounds like...

"...on your body so much, you don't want to play the 4."

What does it sound like to everyone else?

I think they are just talking about how good the food was. I seriously doubt after it was over and they were walking he was still "but...and..." ...if he was smart he was trying to act like a friend as it ended so he felt comfortable with him.

I hope McD makes people feel that way. That's probably my biggest fear with him, but it's not totally warranted.

Grasping at straws, but does that mean he's meeting with us?

Also, it's not showing on here, but the #LAtoPHX is bolded on the original tweet.

Means that's where he's having lunch I think.

He's having lunch in Belize? They're just making a joke.

This is before they walked in. Anyway I heard LMA didn't like the food because "he isn't used to fine dining."

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say pitch LaMarcus Aldridge got from Pop today about playing with Duncan AND taking over when Timmy's gone resonated strongly

Screw that

I wonder what's up with the all white stuff. I wonder if it's a marketing tactic...better than coming in black.

All that means is that it was a good pitch. It makes sense. Ours is still better. He may not take it but it doesn't mean he made the better choice.

Still, Pop learned of the problem LMA had with the Spurs, addressed it, and it 'resonated strongly.' Now LMA goes into the long weekend, with his kids, feeling good about the Spurs for too many reasons.

4 and 64 for Tobias Harris. Orlando was never letting him leave after they lost out on milsap.

Yep and THAT'S WHY YOU GET A 2ND MEETING WITH ALDRIDGE. this is sales 101.

It takes multiple exposures/opportunities to close a tough prospect.

Pop got more exposures...good chance that last meeting solidified it.

Time to get another meeting with Aldridge or else he's gone to SA

Well, my expectation is that we don't get him, so if we do, I will be ecstatic, and if we don't it will be biz as usual, so I'm ok with whatever. It still makes more sense for him to come here though. And if he doesn't, maybe we find a better fit next year, or maybe Kieff becomes a monster...you never know.

I think he may still visit Phx. For some reason, I have this feeling he may pick phx, even though that contradicts my last post...I expect to not get him.

I wonder if the self fulfilling prophecy works for fanbases
A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behavior

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-fulfilling_prophecy

It definitely works in sports.

****

The Spurs won a championship 1 year ago and it was like no big deal at all. The city didn't explode in joy, there wasn't national hype, and at the end of the day nobody cared that they won it all. It's not just because they've won so much, because it certainly wasn't like that when the Lakers won (*) in 2010.

If he brings a ring to Phoenix he will officially have the keys to the city. His celebrity status would be like Nash and Fitzgerald combined. The city would EXPLODE and the impact would be beyond words. The whole country would actually care too, while when they beat the Heat all that mattered was the Heat losing, not the Spurs winning.

This is a chance to be the face of a city and dynasty that turns him into a superstar. In San Antonio he won't get those things and the end goal would not be anywhere near as great as the end goal in the Valley.

Yes, I posted that and the Harris signing in the Free Agency Tracker thread earlier. If you see any other moves by other teams, post them there. Thanks. :D
