doubt it was the per/year so much as the number of years total

That doesn't make sense though because if we offered him 30mil for two years let's say I think he'd take it so he can maybe get one more contract in later. I just don't think we offered him anything.

maybe he really missed jason kidd

Evan Turner getting 70mil over 4 years with Portland
Evan Fornier getting 85mil over 5 years with Orlando

I feel like we're dodging some serious bullets here.
Gives me the feeling we're going to sign one of the following to a 2 year expensive deal (maybe 10-14 mil per)

Dudley
Amar'e
Lee
West

Perhaps David West then?

Isn't that Mirza Teletovic? Lol. I think like we are in on somebody.

Fournier I can understand. Turner's contract is ridiculous. He has not played that well for two straight years.

I still don't understand why these teams are handing out huge deals to RFA's on the first day. It doesn't make any sense.

I suppose Leuer is also still an option. Maybe McD sees him as a better long term fit? And he stays healthy.

Maybe to show they are loyal or something. I don't mind the Fornier deal. He was probably going to get that anywhere.

Good the leftover bigs are rotation players at best, none will make a difference. Gotta stay the course and not jump the gun. Hopefully we don't sniff the playoffs, a Three Headed Hydra redux will ensure that

I don't think so. His playing time went down drastically under Watson even though he played very well in his limited minutes.

I would love Amar'e back. He always had a great work ethic. He never got good at D or rebounding but he did work on his game and improved to make him a near MVP. He'd fit like a glove here. I actually really hope we land him.

I don't see West happening. You don't go from giving up 10 mil to compete for a ring to then go to a garbage team. Unless he realizes his mistake and wants to make up what he lost. This would certainly be the year to do it.

Marvin Williams, Derrick Williams and Luol Deng can be options yet.

I do not like D. Williams at all, but I would be happy with Deng or Marvin.

Amare is done and he's also 100% center these days. He does literally nothing for us right now. Same with Lee and West.
Dudley isn't much better than Tucker and will sign a big 4-year contract. No, thanks.

Yeah, I think he is gonna play under Hornacek in NY next season.

Wanted Mirza, sad he is gone. Don't want to bring Leuer back at all. It's West or Amare for me, don't think we are gonna get Williams, and God no to Dudley.

If I were McDonough...

I'd re-sign Leur. Trade Chandler for magic beans and cap relief. Ditch either Bledsoe of Knight. My preference is Knight, because both he and Bledsoe are poor PGs, but at least Bledsoe's contract is up sooner. Run this season with developing Warren, Len, Booker, Bender, Ulis, Chriss, Goodwin, etc...

Whatever we get in trade, make it draft pick heavy.

That's a recipe for 18 wins, but I'd rather have the 3rd pick in the draft than no cap space for years and the 12th pick.

Interested to hear what Gambo says but I have to guess we are in on Barnes, Bazemore, possibly Anderson? You dont let Mirza walk at only $10 a year unless your assets are being promised somewhere else.

It should be simple - get a vet PF on a 2 year deal. Guys like Dudley or West are perfect for what we need now, and that is time to develop our new draftees. At the same time we won’t get stuck at some point in the future when our youngsters rise to eat that cap space.
