Knicks trading away garbage (minus Grant) for Rose. Not a bad deal Phil :)

Very likely means Butler is staying put. Everything I read from Chicago media said they need to trade one of them because they both want to be the alpha dog. They thought it would be tough to trade Rose, but they managed to pull it off.

Wow has Derrick Rose's stock fallen. The 27 year old former MVP traded for role players. Shocking.

If 5 years ago I told you RoLo could net you DRose you would have laughed. This is a Isiah Thomas kinda move for the Knicks

I think the rose deal is reasonable for both sides. Knicks roll the dice that he can stay healthy and make one last push with Carmelo. Bulls needed to move on from rose and Lopez can be a Noah replacement.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

That bulls team is still going to blow. If I was them I'd get as many picks as possible for butler and rebuild.

Rose is a terrible player now. I don't like it for the Knicks. Just trying to go after another big name without regard to how well they can play.

Isn't Barnes a restricted FA. I have only heard GS is willing to match all offers. I think the only way we could get Barnes is a sign and trade. I don't know the Suns would be willing to pay Barnes Max and give up players to get him.

GS will let him go if he wants out. Gambo has harped on Barnes continually for a while now. He said we are interested.

Yes, they said they'd agree to let him go and try to work out a sign and trade. So they'd probably want like Warren or someone back. Would you do that?

Ahhh... That's tough. Is it the good or bad Barnes? TJ's offense is just as good but Barnes has better D. I looked up Barnes shooting numbers and they were horrendous and for the type of money he is seeking, probably not.

If the Bulls lose Butler, Rose, Noah, and Gasol all in the same offseason, their fans will go crazy. And that does not even count them letting Thibodeau go last offseason. So I do not think they will trade Butler now.

Small ball

Bledsoe
Buddy
Booker
Barnes
Chandler

All we do in this scenario is draft Buddy and sign Barnes.

uhh....Buddy can't play defense, Booker can't play defense right now on SGs, let alone SFs, Barnes is barely replacement-level, and Chandler is on the downswing.

What am I missing here.

You are not answering the question, that's what you are missing. Anyone can critique, but let's assume Mc'D and Sarver wants to win (be better), give me a better lineup. Thank you.

And Chandler, Bledsoe and Barnes play defense, but i guess you want 5 top tier defenders at ever position, otherwise we suck. I did say small ball didn't I?

He's still young enough to be part of a rebuild. With Rose gone my guess is they draft a PG at 14 and roll with

Grant/Butler/McDermott/Gibson/Rolo

Off the bench they still have Portis, Mirotic, Dunleavy, Calderon and probably a rookie PG (Baldwin or Murray or Jackson if they are both gone).

They could try and re-sign Gasol but he will probably go somewhere else.

They really have pretty much all young pieces though. Noah and Gasol are free agents and will probably walk. Noah to Minny maybe.

They'll keep Butler now barring a massive package for him like Wiggins or something. They have enough young pieces and the 14th pick.

Rose was one of the worst players in the league last year too, so he detracted from them. They might get a little worse, but they also had to adjust to a new coach.

Lol they are pursuing Dwight as a RoLo repalcementin order to enter the KD sweepstakes. As if that team stands a chance against the Cavs

Jonathan Givony with Draft Express said the 76ers were in on Hill and Teague until the last minute. He says they are in the market for a veteran point guard. Would Knight be a good fit their. On the surface it seems to be a match with our surplus in the backcourt and theirs in the frontcourt. With Simmons strengths as a passer and running that office into the future, maybe it would mitigate some of Knight's weaknesses. Just a thought...
