I really don't know what they'd have to offer us in a KD trade aside from maybe Butler or some combination of:
- Herro/Ware/Jovic/29' Miami 1st/2031 Miami 1st/ 26' Flakers 2nd. But that'd be the absolute floor return, and anything less than that, I'd hang up the phone rather quickly!
Naa
I think Miami is gonna get Ingram. He'll be much cheaper than KD. Probably Herro, J³ and a cpl picks is enough.
Personally, I'd rather trade Booker than Durant. We'll get more and since KD and Beal are on the same timeline, they can both be gone in the same off-season if it doesn't work. 3 years from now.
Either way though, Houston is my choice if I have to make the move. Maybe Orlando if you don't wanna trade in the western conference. Both have youth and picks. Houston has ours which makes them a prime candidate to make this move for 1 of our 2 stars.
Do they have a couple of picks to even spare (aside from maybe 29' and 31') man. I honestly don't think that Ishbia's going to even consider trading KD after extending him. I honestly think that he intends on trying to have Durant retire with Phoenix for the publicity and attention it'd garner for the franchise, most likely adding him into the ring of honor and having a big celebration, again fueling significant publicity for the franchise.

Yeah I'd agree. It's a bad look for Ishbia to reverse the KD trade so soon. Especially cause we won't get full value. Still, might not have a choice if Durant forces the issue

I'm sure that is what folks thought about Steve Kerr. Barry has two championship rings under Popovich and has worked extensively in the Spurs organization. I'm sure Barry and Budenholzer have spent time together. High IQ role players seem to make pretty good coaches.

Meh. Brent Barry was part of the terrorist organization we had to contend with as they spread their insufferable tyranny and I want no part of him in this organization.
You can win without being a scumbag.

So was Bud and I love the hiring
He was an assistant with the Spurs from 1996 to 2013 and won all 4 titles with them as an assistant. Bud is one of the more successful coaches coming from the Pop coaching tree. Monty, Jenkins, Udoka, Kerr, Rivers and Mike Brown all coached/played under Pop. Even Michael Malone got the Pop bump who was hired as an assistant coach under Mike Brown in Cleveland.

Or if he …. (Elephant enters the room). …
pulls up lame. A gimpy KD is a keeper not by choice. Off season not exactly off to good start.
Over and under in games played? 52 ?
What ? Me Worry ?

Yeah sucks to read about KD and Beal being injured in offseason/preseason but it was kinda expected from the start with these two. We can just accept it and hope them being on/off for big parts of the season won't derail it too much with other players stepping up in their absence.

If I was a dictator I'd send every last one of them to the gulag for what they perpetrated.

The Phoenix Suns are looking to add James Posey to new head coach Mike Budenholzer’s staff to work as an assistant coach, sources informed The Arizona Republic.
Posey was an assistant coach for the Washington Wizards the past two seasons, including Suns guard Bradley Beal’s final season with the Wizards in 2022-23.
The former NBA player was also an assistant for the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014-19. Posey was on the Cavs coaching staff under Ty Lue when Cleveland won the 2015-16 NBA championship. The Cavaliers were the first NBA team to rally from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals to beat the 73-win Golden State Warriors.
