Anyone have an answer to this? I'm curious about this also.

That's correct. Said he's a big part of what they do, was a starting C for a 48 win team last year. Not looking to move him at this time.

I was listening to that live. That was exactly what I thought McD would say... what else do you expect him to say? "Yeah - he's on the block because we dont really want him anymore." ? That would kill what little confidence Plumlee has left, take away leverage that the Suns have (by letting teams know we dont want him), and would probably create tension or hurt chemistry in the locker room.

I'm sure McD is working the phone lines to see what he can get for Plumlee and others as well. But we know that he'll be patient and not make a deal where we dont get equal or better value back. In the meantime, they'll keep giving Plumlee some rotation minutes to keep him engaged and show him to other teams.

Thats my take at least...

Bruno Caboclo (aka "Brazilian Durant") is interesting imo. Suns were rumored to have interest in him pre-draft last year. I also think Ross is interesting since he's still just 23 and has a lot of athleticism + a stroke and is a good defender. Replacing Green, who's about to be a UFA for Ross, an athlete who is much younger and locked into a rookie deal, is a win in my book.

Rumor has it that the Toronto Raptors are interested in the struggling center. It is a more complicated deal as Plumlee will come along with Gerald Green in exchange for Terrence Ross, Tyler Hansbrough, or Landry Fields.

Currently, the Raptors' pick is in the 20s.
Or they have their own and the less favorable of the Nuggets and Knicks picks in 2016.

Would love some T.Ross

Love the Ross + pick rumor.

Ross could supplant Tucker IMO... Tucker is a bull dog but Ross is a transition, above the rim 3D guy who I've always mentioned as an ideal SF in the Suns tempo game. Past trade ideas I've proposed some trades for him also. Still Young too.

Is Ross a good defender? Or avarage?

I dont trust either of those two articles.

The 1st one doesnt even say that there is a rumor of the Raptors being interested, just kinda insinuates it. The 2nd article from Young Health Mag uses a bleacher report as a source and even had the balls to say, "One of their best players from last year, Miles Plumlee, is in danger of getting shipped soon.".

One of our "BEST PLAYERS" from last year? Really? That loses what little credibility they had for me (and they already had none in my book, so that gives them negative cred).

What the hell are the Suns gonna do with Ross, Hansbrough and Fields?

We already have enough young developing players on this team who aren't even getting playing time.

Suns need to look into making trades that are like 3 for 1 deals. Meaning we send 3 players and get back 1.

Yup I like James Johnson too. Raps fans love him on their forums too, they say he's the only defense first guy on their roster. Immediate upgrade over Marcus Morris imo.

We could do try this trade if the Cavs get desperate- (also add our 2015 1st, 2017 top 3 protected)
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qaqj5qm

We got PJ Tucker as our wing defender (and Bledsoe), and Len can be our dominant defensive center. In addition to us keeping Wright/Plumlee our front court is very well balanced. Marion is another good wing defender, even though his athleticism isn't what it used to be. Plus, getting Marion back for his final season would be pretty sweet. We could interchange who our backup PG can be with Ennis/Goodwin/Zoran. All in all I think this roster could be successful.
Bledsoe/Dragic/Tucker/Love/Len
Ennis/Green/Marion/Wright/Plumlee

I know our bench looks pretty weak, but if Ennis can actually pass, he can throw lobs for days to the entire lineup. Pick and roll all day.

We're also able to keep Dragic long-term with IT no longer lingering around

I dont think Cleveland does a Love trade with us that doesnt include either Dragic or Bledsoe. They gave up a nice stash of young talent for him. The fan base would riot if they were to turn it around and take the MoBros and IT for what they originally gave up for Love.

He gets barely more rebounds than Ross gets in roughly equal time. That's concerning. Plus he's 27, so he doesn't exactly fit McDonough's "growing with the team" mentality. It's not like he's a Wright type who is just too good a fit to pass, and Wright cost next to nothing. I just don't see the point of trading Plumlee for an older guy who isn't all that more productive this season and actually has much worse career numbers, who also costs over twice as much and is a UFA sooner.

The only thing he's improved is his build and cutting his turnover rate a lot. Where are the improved assist numbers? The improved outside shot? The improved rebounding and defensive stats? They simply aren't there.

Get better and then expect a call up, cos at the moment he's just whining and coming off like the 20 year millionaire he is.

I'm sorry TASTIC this is too hilarious not to bring up. You've taken a 5 game sample size from the D-League as your proof that he has regressed. That is plain ridiculous.

And he's not whining. Even the new comments from his agent aren't enough to convince you of that?

What other sample size am I meant to use?

That's my point. Sure, he ISN'T getting NBA minutes when he likely should be - so he seriously needs to make the most of the time he does get on the court against whatever opposition that is.

He isn't better than Gerald Green, Thomas, Dragic, Bledsoe or anyone else in the current rotation - it's as simple as that. This team wants to win now and thinks it can make the playoffs, and it would be nice to insert him when we're up big (or just to give him 2-3 minutes per quarter to learn on the fly) - but the reality is, he isn't ready and neither are the Suns. We nearly blew a 20+ point game at home to a team missing it's All Star PF and top defensive C anchor for goodness sake.

It shouldn't matter where he's playing, when he gets minutes he needs to produce - my point is he ISN'T showing improvement in any area. Ok if he hasn't regressed, he certainly hasn't improved - or a) he'd be getting minutes or b) he'd be putting up better stats. So which one is it, what has he done in the 1.5 seasons he's been a professional basketball player? Improve, regress or stay the same?

Secondly, the comments by his agent were AFTER my post. I couldn't 'predict' what his agent was going to say and change my post...

I need to reiterate I don't want to trade him as I think he will be a solid player who has very big upside; my problem was the comments and going public about them - which surprise surprise his agent has 'cleared up'. Again, I am worried he's another DJ Strawberry - who also killed it in the D-League as a youngster but just never improved

Do we really need another SG/SF at this point? I mean Ross really isnt an upgrade over Green/Tucker/Morris and we still dont really know what we have with Goodwin/Warren/Zoran/Bullock, so to trade Plumlee for yet another wing would just be asinine at this point.

I would rather trade Plumlee for another C that is younger and not yet developed, so he would be fine with limited minutes and being the 3rd C off the bench. Maybe even trade him for someone that can play a bit of PF as well, kinda like how Wright can cover both positions.

I don't want Ross.

He doesn't bring anything Green already doesn't, and if we feel he's blocking Archie already then why bring in a guy on a longer deal who is still better than Goodwin (and Warren for that matter)?

As others have said, I'd rather James Johnson or Caboclo.

Unless getting Ross meant sending Green out for a big, how about these:

Ennis + Plumlee
for
Ross + a pick

And then

Green
for
Teletovic

Leaves us with:

Len / Wright
Markieff / Teletovic / Mook
Tucker / Ross / Warren
Dragic / Goodwin
Bledsoe / Thomas

Either way, trading for another wing doesn't make any sense. I'd do Green for Teletovic in a heartbeat, perfect back-up stretch 4 and salaries are nearly identical...

Yeah, he was a starter for us last season, then was demoted to a back-up halfway through what we have played this season, then had his minutes cut down even more from there once we traded for Wright. He see's the writing on the wall, and given an opportunity to be an actual back-up for a different team, i think he would take it in a heart beat.

Honestly, i wouldnt even consider him a big part of what we did last season. He was there and a starter because we had no one else. He wasnt a "big part" of our offense and certainly wasnt a "big part" of our defense either. He was just kinda there.

While I see where you're coming from, Wright is a FA and there's no guarantee someone won't throw a bunch of money at Wright trying to make him a starter. He really shouldn't be making more than what he is right now, but some team will look at that league leading PER and freak the **** out. When that scenario plays out it will be nice to have Plumlee still back there on a rookie deal.

Something is up with Terrence Ross. Maybe someone that is familiar with the Raptors board can fill me in. But apparently he's in a big time funk, going through some sort of depression or something? He's been playing really poorly too. Even Gerald Green at 42% is shooting better from the field than Ross is. And of course so is IT (44%), Eric (44%), Goran (51%), PJ (46%), and Marcus (45%).

I wouldn't make any moves unless it's for a superstar right now, based only on the right package.

We've won 15 of 18 games and are finally finding a flow.

Miles can still get meaningful minutes...he played decent alongside Wright last night. We don't owe him anything in terms of trading him for a better opportunity...we are the reason he has any relevance at all after warming the bench in Indy.

...let's see how the next 6-7 games go against top teams though
