Is that something that would have to be discussed in the CBA? I think regardless it's something that needs to be discussed.
I always thought, if you are in the top 8 in the east but the bottom two teams are at or under 500, but the West has the 9 and 10 seeds above 500, they should be allowed in.

The second tweet is a good point but I think this is different. Riley knows he needs to get talent. Why put a scare tactic out. it'll turn away potential free agents.

Sam Amico tweets that LBJ is just going to announce where he is going with no fanfare or build up.

The more I think about it, the more the Rockets scare me. Harden, Howard and Lebron is a hell of a team

If that happens, so be it. We are the young, up-n-coming team and we continue to accumulate assets. Hopefully that's not it though.

A Heat fan brought up a good point in another forum:

"I just feel if everything was planned out between the Big 3 and the Miami front office, and everyone was committed to Miami, On July 1, at 12:01 A.M. we would have signed our Big 3, and at 12:02 A.M. we would be hardcore pursuing the certain players we wanted and fit with our roster and were reasonably priced. Not be mentioned as a team of interest for every major FA which has no business being on Miami as we cannot come close to affording (Lowry, Gortat etc etc)"

If they were all already committed it would have been much easier to sell free agents on Miami.

Just get McD the opportunity to present and he'll close like Harvey Specter.

This doesn't necessarily scare me (yet). I have a hard time believing he'd waste everyone's time. Most big names are off the board and not much left will help that Heat team. Maybe the GM who thinks his team is out of the running said it.

Where's the free agents now? It would make sense if they signed guys like Lowry or Gortat or whatever FA's they were looking at and then resign the Big 3. But no FA's has signed with them so that suggests the Big 3 isn't really a sure thing.

Exactly. Teams are waiting for Lebron to sign somewhere before the other Major FA's get signed. In the meantime, the lesser FA's are being signed left and right. The issue is those lesser FA's are the ones that Miami has the money for and have been reported to be targeting.

People also say that if they didnt plan to re-sign then Wade and Bosh wouldnt have opted out, and i think that is BS. Yeah, there are no real takers for Wade, but he will always have a home with the Heat in Miami. Even if Lebron does leave them, they have already earned a ton of cash and know that its better to opt out now and re-sign taking a bit less cash if that means they can get some good players in there to help replace Lebron. Its also extending their contracts on top of that.

If that's true, they are going to be hated even more.

If there is truth to your comment, they're not that smart. They're going to end up worse than they did last year talent wise.
