People piling on Dragic in these threads and defending the front office have battered wife syndrome.

For me, so far, Ryan's biggest mistake was signing IT. He was very patient on his pursuit of players and I think he reached a bit on that one. And obviously, it didn't work.

Now, I do agree with him about acquiring assets and hoping for the right trade. And to me, this is his time. These next 30 hours or so to really set the team forward. I personally don't think Goran is a max player - maybe at best what Bledsoe is making - so with that - if I were Ryan I would

1) still trade Thomas and see if some way you can get Afflalo; even if that means giving up young assets sitting on your bench or Plumlee or whatever. Get a more true two guard. If y ou trade Thomas and Plumlee - that is 9m off of next years cap to pay towards Affalo (or a guy like Wes Matthews). But I like Afflalo - good SMART player.

2) move Goran for a big if you can. Randle or DMo

Suns need a more traditional lineup with a real 4 and a real 2

You get those problems solved - than you can use the Morri off the bench (unless you trade them) - Tucker is a 3 guy who can do his thing and still start and than you can build your bench

This might be a blessing in disguise trading Dragic. But I think that means you have to move IT too. He is not a fit

I don't blame Goran for being ticked at his role this year or wanting to get paid.

Ryan screwed up the whole IT thing

But if Goran really wants NYK or LAK or Miami - have to move him. And who knows, maybe the Lakers move him for Randle as that might better assure them of keeping him. If it becomes a bidding war, that opens up other teams.

OR , It COULD BE ,,,,,,,,,,,,Some are just heartbroken that he is gone .

And others are Glad that he is gone. Could be just THAT simple .

Battered Wife Syndrome ?? Good Lord I hope not . But if that's true then we should do everything in our power to try to help those fellow forum members . Here's a few steps to follow :

1-Get out of the home at all costs. Be prepared to live with a peer, or family member. Take what is emotionally meaningful or sentimental. The rest can be replaced. It may take years, but eventually you can replace it. They are ONLY materialistic items.
2-Obtain a restraint order. The responsibility is now yours to implement it. So many times the perpetrator begs, cries, asks for forgiveness, uses the children as a go between any ploy they can conjure up to get you back. DO NOT SUCCUMB! Call the police; use your restraint order power.
3-Inform your place of employment. These men will usually approach you at work. Make calls at work, and even try to sabotage your employment.
4-Seek out a good therapist. You may have to go through one or two till you find the right one. Please stay in therapy. This is a long process. Remember you have been abused for a long time; therapy will not just take a few sessions.

Frank Lee wrote:The FO/coach gets the full blame here from me.

I'm not sure of the team leak, if it was agreed upon or not. Seems odd they would only give a partial list.

But back to McDuh... he has maniacally went on an asset binge... just like papa Ainge. Stock piling players as if they are firewood. throwing together a bunch of parts with no clue on how they will work together. This team was poorly constructed. The concept was a disaster. The off season rates a D- now.

Put a load of hindsight in the trunk and no way McDuh signs IT, no way he gives 50 mil to the ThugBros, obviously, no way he signs Tolliver. The handling of Bledsoe was a contentious game of chicken and resulted in an anti-climatical disappointment for player, but a victory for the FO. Yay team? We think we got a good draft... but we don't have any idea really do we?

Rightt now, I think there is an undercurrent of mistrust towards the FO. I think we have a leaderless caustic locker room, with a girl scout for a coach. BTW, No less than three players have mentioned 'trades'. Dragic's nuts were just bigger than Plum's or Archie's. Tolliver just thanked us.

Did the Dragon screw us ??? I don't know, lets see how it plays... but did we screw him ? I say it was a significant rogering.

Bottom line is, it isn't 'fun' anymore being a Sun. Dragic experienced the hey day of camaraderie and chemistry.... and winning.... but this squad is the epitome of that.

PS... RA with some Sunshine above

Exactly.
Players are people, with feelings and they want to have a rol and see themselves like an important part of the team. McDonough thought that they were "assets ", happy to be on the bench waiting to be traded for an Star. It si not working that way.
We have too many good players or prospects players, we have to cut our roster or have real bench players at the end of the bench (ala Burke or Shavlik ) because players like Goodwin or Bullock will be unhappy very soon.
Isaiah Thomas signing was an asset...and it was a clear and epic fail.

went to sleep other thread was on page 70. woke up, worked a bit, got to the page and KA-BOOM
the people enjoying the time without bledsoe and goran running the show, like me, were never happy with the IT signing at all.
totally changed teams philosophy and in addition to that loosing frye took away dragons strong part.

very hard for a team in the 8th spot right now to screw things up so fast.
there must be a party going on at the OKC front office right now.

Suns- Bosh
Heat- Dragic, Morris, Morris

Heat- get younger have there future core pair with wade and are an improved team.

Suns- upgrade PF position with a veteran top 5 PF. Lose the other morris which allows warren to get on the court. Also lose Dragic which allows Goodwin to get on the floor for some minutes.

This trade helps the Suns get a top guy AND play the you get players. It improves us now and let's us invest in the future

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say Celtics emerging as contender on the outside for Goran Dragic in trade with Phoenix

@ESPNSteinLine: Celtics have the assets to jump into Dragic talks and, like Houston and Sacramento, also have the guts to trade for a free agent-to-be

I would be suprised if that weekly interview on Gambo's show happens today, he will be unavailable for sure. He should have his head down and phones to each ear doing homework before the deadline and also shouldnt talk about basketball in the media right now.

Bitter sweet... Have always said I would rather have Dragic over Bledso, but I also saw Goran as someone who wanted to be here and Bled as the opposite... seems the teeter has tottered. Atleast we have a direction with a main ball handler with one ball dominant guy in Bledso, hopefully they pair him with an actual 2 guard or let Archie get his shot, by all means god willing DO NOT let Thomas be a starting guard for this team. This changes things for Green, I really think the front office likes him and might try to plug him in, better or worse. Excited to see what happens and also think this could be an extreemly motivating force on Bledso... when he plays motivated he is a monster. Maybe the chemistry problems have been the Dragic's all along and that is why our team seems to have not been as close as they have been in the past. Goran pouts a lot when he is off the ball with his hands out and dosnt get the pass... usually very noticably throws his hands up and looks at the bench all the damn time, maybe this is a good divorce.

You never know what can change team chemistry for the better. We were said to be looking for vet leadership, Aflalo could be that guy if we can get him. Our vet leaders last year were Frye (gone I know), Tucker and Green also were very vocal leaders last year but not so much this year, maybe the rift caused them to not be involved because both of thier production is way down... maybe it wasnt the Morris Bros and Thomas causing this ****, maybe it was Goran being a douch, and wanting his brother to have a bigger role. I have always wondered why the hell we can send Archie, Tj, Tyler, and Bullock down, while Zoran was always either on the bench or in the back in a suit.... why no D League burn for the golden childs sibling??

Good luck Goran.. hand shake and a pat on the ass. Hope we make a positive out of this huge negative, keep stacking assets, or even make a full blown blockbuster out of this.

Randle? Bosh? Keep the laughs coming.

There's a fine line in this league between knowing what you're doing in the front office and being dysfunctional. Letting the Dragic situation get to this point is laughable dysfunction.

These next 30 hours are going to be exciting. At least Dragic and Plum must move. Green, IT and Zoran also strong possibilities. It's about to get hot in here!!!

Not so sure about Plum with all the possible new stuff. Plup thrived last year because of our chemistry and uptempo play. Chemistry being as it has been, maybe the front office has talked to him and deemed him not the problem. With how that trade dust up came about involving him and a couple days later just completly feel off the earth with no further mention, maybe he is here for a while.

Cry me a **** river. Dragic is not the only player in the league, or even on this team, who has to play out of his comfort zone. Durant has to play off the ball for long stretches, Tucker has to guard players like Z-Bo, Griffin or Big Al on a regular basis etc. But they don't act like an entitled, spoiled brats and don't ask for a trade in the most disgusting manner like Dragic just did. They understand that basketball is a team sport and sometimes you have to take one for the team. Dragic doesn't.

Selfish, greedy, rat faced biznatch.

Wonder if it's something centered around Bradley/Sully for Dragic/Plumlee, something like that...

Bradley and Bledsoe in the backcourt, with Tucker at the 3. Yikes that's some intense perimeter D!

Dragic lit Bradley up when they played. Not interested. Play Archie.

At some stage our asset hording needs to turn into acquiring a star. As good a time today as any to do it.

Morris, Thomas, Morris, Tucker, Wright, Green, Plumlee = Clogging 55% of the cap

Then there's Bledsoe and Len as the core, and rookies.
