I just semi watched Agent Carter, while watching the Suns, but will have to rewatch...she is great. I watched Black Mirror, but that was before I watched Agent Carter.....Black Mirror is killer....I might have to go re-watch that one right now. I loved about half the episodes of Black Mirror, but all were good. Just really crazy futuristic out of the box thinking in some of them. Did you watch Winter Christmas...the one with Jon Hamm?

Yeah that one was awesome. It's up on Netflix finally. I agree though, half of them were great and the other half were either meh or at least moderately interesting. Apparently S1E3 was bought was bought by Robert Downey Jr to turn into a movie.

There was a thread on the Media Lounge a while back where everyone ranked them. I think that was one of the favorites, along with the one you mentioned (which I rewatched last night).

I believe I liked S1E2 the best, where they ran on treadmills to gain coins and where it went. But 3-4 of them were really good. Actually White Christmas may have been the best...not sure if that one made it to netflix yet since it is season 3. My least favorite was probably the first episode of season 1.

I really liked all of them and I appreciated episode 1 because I thought it was a pretty bold choice. "Yeah, we're going there" is what it basically said to me. I was hooked from then on. Haven't seen White Christmas yet though.

Damn I was so keen on watching it with the GF but we ended up booking too late because of Vday.

I'll try and catch it this week or the next.

I've started hating all the Superhero movies. Haven't really watched anything past Iron Man. Saw bits and pieces of a lot of the superhero movies but haven't really sat down and enjoyed em ya know.
I liked Dark Knight, Watchmen, those two are probably my favorite. I did see Dark Knight Rises and though that was pretty good too.
I did see Deadpool and really enjoyed it. That's how all superhero movies need to be done, Rated R.

Except superhero comics were made for children and not adults. I actually think it's become too adult. Watchmen was meant to be a real-world examination of superheroes, therefore had to be "adult" and "R rated" (talking about the comic itself as well as the movie). This kicked off a trend, most prominently via Frank Miller and some others, to make children's heroes into "adult" "dark" and "gritty". I mean, Moore basically did it right, he created a new cast of characters who resembled popular heroes, but he didn't want to alter the heroes beloved by children. He's even expressed regret over the trend Watchmen had on superhero comics.

Deadpool is in a similar league as Watchmen, a created original character in the Marvel Universe to poke and prod at superheroes in an irreverent and vulgar way.

Sin City was awesome. Second one a big disappointment, though Eva Green was the business in that sequel...

For me, it just depends on subject matter and the target audience of the original comics. If we're talking about Spawn for example, totally agree that would need to be Rated-R. Spiderman was always fairly light and targeted a younger audience so I'm OK if that isn't rated R.

I do like my violence and humor though so I should enjoy Deadpool

anybody ever see Hancock? Deadpool reminds me exactly of that. I know it was a comic book first, but i was never heavy into comics.

I will say that I saw Ant-Man the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Other than that, too many Avengers and DC flicks. now we're getting Batman v Superman? I just can't do it anymore.

I was never into comic books but I've always appreciated the lore in it. I enjoyed reading the lore behind the characters, their stories, how they fit into that world etc. That being said, I love special effects in movies and Marvel has done a great job on nearly every single superhero movie they've brought out.

This.

Am I the only MCU fan here? All the interwoven connections and limitless ways for character arcs to go are really enjoyable for me. Do I wish at this point that most of the stuff was more adult? Sure, but I get they need to cater to pretty much everyone. Throw all the movies in with Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil and the other Defenders on Netflix and you have tons of things for everybody. The speculation about what's coming next is always fun, which also can come with learning new things about the Canon of the Marvel Universe.

I've never watched Agents of Shield. I like most of those movies ok. I really like Agent Carter though. Just watched two episodes tonight. It's too bad that show is coming to an end.

I'm a big MCU fan. Ironman 1 blew my socks off and for me, redefined what superhero movies should be. There were X-Men which I don't think aged very well and the stories in each one were pretty flat. The Spiderman trilogy for me were the first well done superhero movies but Ironman set the standards.

I thought the first X Men was ok, and I don't even know if I saw the second and third ones...not that interested. Someone convinced me to see X Men:First Class and I thought that was great, so I saw X Men:Days of Future Past which was also great.

AoS I actually like better than Agent Carter. It does a good job of kind of reinventing itself each season, giving itself a fresher look so it doesn't get too stale as it goes along.

I especially like the Netflix shows and how they're able to flesh out more layers of some flawed, complex characters and give you varying, legitimate points of view (which should come full-on in Daredevil S2) instead of the cookie cutter, perfect heroes who are always right and always come out on top.

You can't lump X-Men and those awful Spider-Man movies in with the actual Marvel Studios MCU tho lol
