IF Sarver does sell, I'm hoping for an owner with DEEP pockets, a passion for basketball, and IDEALLY an ownership group with some former Suns players in it. Too bad Grant Hill bought into the Hawks, he'd be a great guy to have around this franchise.

If true, why didn't he sell to the Jazz guy and get paid

I'll believe it when I see it, as I am not one for accusing a guy without any proof here. As much as we've all disliked Sarver from a 'bad owner' standpoint, this is a really terrible way for things to (potentially) end.

In the meantime, if he does get removed, does the NBA run our team until we find another owner? I forget how that worked with the whole CP3 trade debacle. Hopefully James Jones is still allowed to make decisions without any interference even until we find an owner.

Has Schultz ever been right?

He has to have some intel on this though or he is opening up himself to a huge defamation suit so I can't imagine he would tweet this without some sort of verified source.

That being said, why would it be him breaking it and not someone else?

Maybe Chris Paul gets all this stuff rolling...

How many people do you think that have known about this for some time do you think are tweeting out how long they've known about this? I bet there is about 1 person doing that.

As a fan of the team it sucks that organization is being connected with something like this. Unfortunately nothing would surprise me. If the accusations are true i hope he kicked out of the league and punished truly. Also i hope this won't become a huge distraction for the team and rest of the organization get through this process as upstanding as possible.

It sucks that his departure might be like this but for the last f. time SARVEROUT!

Sums it up for me as well.

So what are the actual allegations? Would need to know those in order so I can make up my mind, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if racism/sexism would be true (even though these subjects with vaccinations and other political things are a bit overboard lately imho - and I'm pretty liberal to begin with...).

Other than this: who would be a good owner and would actually like to own a team? Musk? Bezos?

Would love it, but Chuck probably doesn't have the money. Only guy from his day who has cash like that is MJ and that's mostly from endorsements, and I'm sure he still makes a ton off of the shoes.

Seems like most discussing it in season thread, so may as well have it all in one place. Will merge this thread with the other in a few minutes..

Seattle ownership group licking their lips...

Saw this post on the GB...a little concerning..nothing noted here obviously very likely, but still...

When the Donald Sterling scandal broke and his ban became instant, there was legitimate worry that he would fight this in the courts to retain ownership of the team. Had he succeeded, Paul, Doc Rivers, possibly every teammate and employee in the franchise would have wanted out. There were rumors of Doc taking over the Lakers job, the players would have been involved in a dispersal draft - all this if Sterling were to stay. Either the Clipper franchise would have been exiled from the NBA, or the NBA would have contracted the team. It was that bad. And to add Sterling hoping that Steve Ballmer would purchase the team so that he could relocate them to Seattle and resurrect the Supersonics in a Clay Bennett-type move, you had the makings of a Xanatos Gambit: "If I can't own the Clippers, nobody will."

If Sarver beats the system, I wouldn't be surprised if Booker and all demanded out. Paul would choose to join LeBron instantly. And oh boy, this is all gonna circle back to the Clippers, given the fact they were eliminated by Suns in the conference finals last season.

He could put together a group possibly with some ownership stake. Like 10% Chuck, Larry, Shaq, etc.

We should ALL be wishing and praying that everything said about him is 1000% true and they can force him out like they did Sterling.

Please don't play with my emotions here ESPN. This needs to be real.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything sarver has said. Very interesting that James Jones backs him up as well.

I guess we'll have to see what the report says.

I still say that being dumb and rude and even offensive doesn't make you an evil sexist or racist. However, the power of accusation in this day and age may just get Robert removed even without much evidence. Seems like this will get ugly.

Well it is starting to blow up across various sports sites such as: Clutchpoints/ spottsnaut/ the Spun- Sports illustrated/ Detroit Sports Nation/ Complex/ The Sun etc.

Not sure as to their level of credibility on this. And apparently there's still nothing from Shams or Woj. So at the very least it's starting to blow up! So we'll absolutely have a good read on the situation and it's validity IF there are discussions on it tonight on ESPN.

Bezos has sooooo much bad press lately. I would think that Musk would be better as all millennials (like the ones that currently play in the league) love him and he has deeper pockets than anyone including Balmer currently in the league.

He could pay luxury tax for the next 50 yrs and it wouldn't make a difference.

I'm getting my hopes up here lol.
