Throw in 2nd rounders / swap picks according to your taste, but I think this would be a fair trade, as we are giving up more talent, but they are taking on more salary and we are the ones who "need" this trade more.

I think O'Quinn is a good player but he are going to be a RFA and his price is unknown. We have Wright here that is even slightly better, so I think we will not sign both of them in the summer. O'Quinn for Plumlee and a second round pick (if Orlando know that they will lose him in FA) can be enough to me.
Isaiah Thomas is a good player but a bad fit, and his contract is great so I think that we have to trade him for a bigger fish. Kanter or Tobias Harris, for example.

I think you can't give up that much talent for "nothing", and they can not be traded to the same team, for the very same reasons they don't work here (although I'm not sure that's what you meant).
One or the other. If it's Dragic going out we better get a stud 2 guard, becouse the constant IT/Bled backcourt would suck in a variety of ways, and if the replacement 2 guard is not good enough IT would still think he should start.

I'd tend agree with you on the "bigger fish", based on talent and salary - only if a blind mouse wouldn't see that we want to move IT. Heck even our GM who signed him was oooohsoclose to addmiting that his play is holding back Dragic. Hence he is not getting us equal value. Which is fine by me in this case of addiction by substraction (see: Smith, Josh).

If McD can pull of IT for Kanter and Plumlee for O'Quinn (then we decide who to keep/re-sign for next season), than my hats off, and I will never ever criticize the man again! 8-)

If we cant obtain Taj, O'Quinn or Henson... I'd love Kanter over here.

Love Kanter's 14/8 (3 offensive reb/game) in 27 min...but he obviously wants a starting role. Not sure how happy he'd be behind Len

I still think Brook Lopez is a decent option, has played well since coming back from injury. Only one year left on his contract.

@ZachLowe_NBA: Every player's personal team obviously pumps them up, but people around league are a bit wary of Kanter's people.

Don't let Kanter's empty stats fool you. He's a bad basketball player, who hurts his team when he's on the court.

Never seen enough of him, but if that's the case, he is an expiring. I'm pretty positive that McD would not make the same mistake twice - signing a good stats/bad player in two offseasons. Youknowwhatimsayin' :D
Plus he would be a nice insurance policy, becouse if I'm a 100% honest, Len's health (cough-ankles-cough) does worry me quite a lot.

I think this will change soon. Keep in mind, we never play young guys. The fact Len broke through is important. He'll get more options soon enough.

This is a feast.

Couple of interesting stats:

Suns PnR is weak, or just being used badly:
- Considering the roll-man. 2nd team using it the least (5% of possessions), but among top 5 in PPP and FG%.
- Considering the ball-handler, we have more useage (15%), but less PPP and FG%, and a lot more TO.

Isolation generates slightly higher PPP than PnR-Ball-Handler, and we are among top 5 teams using it (10% of possessions)

So among the half-court offensive sets, we seem to insist the most on the least productive, and use the least the one that depends more on passing, which we should be stron on with 3 PG's

Yeah, we have the best roll man in the league (Wright) and somehow we cant figure it out how to use him rsrs
Dragic is our best spot-up shooter and the least productive on PNR between our 3 guards.

Yeah, I'd just trade him for the expiring. Like I said before, I don't think he is worth playing the QO, but at least he is a matching salary for IT.

I don't know if Utah needs IT though, but I suppose given the youth of Burke and Exum it's a possibility but they also have Burks.

IT for all these other good players is highly unlikely IMO, but obviously I wouldn't be against it. I just want him gone, regardless of his individual poor man's Marbury/Iverson #s.

I think there's a solid shot we end up with Terrence Ross by the conclusion of the deadline.

Kanter could be a good fit alongside Len, imo. We need a bruiser. But McD will be wary of introducing bad juju.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mhocufu

HOU gets: Dragic/Dragic/Green/Plumlee
PHX gets: Ariza/Jones/Capella/NOP 1st

Bledsoe/Thomas/Ennis
Tucker/Bullock/Goodwin
Ariza/Morris/Warren
Jones/Morris
Len/Wright/Capella

This also creates an open spot if we want to take on Amare after his buyout.

Ariza is pretty much Tucker, but with better offense and even better defense. Ariza is also a great passer as well and understand ball rotation and posses great court vision for a SF. Jones is coming back from injury, but when he comes back at full health, his defense on this team would help out a ton. Capella is still really raw (Just like most rookie C's), but i know he was one of the few players we brought in for a 2nd workout and word was that McD really liked him. We also get the lotto pick 1st that we have been rumored to be looking for in any Dragic trade. We also shave about $2M this season with this trade.

If Amare gets bought out, we have the room (and now a bit more capspace due to the trade) to take him on to play minutes at C as well as PF until Len & Jones has fully recovered.

We also help balance our roster out a bit more (What Babby was talking about on the radio yesterday), as we would be essentially turning 3 guards into a SF (Ariza), a PF (Jones), a C (Capella).

Thoughts?

I don't think we'd have an interest in Jones. I could see Dragic to either HOU or IND for a pick, though.

I like Kanter a lot. He's young(only one year older than Len!) and skilled offensively. Problem is that he's statistically one of the worst big man defenders in the entire game. Maybe you can play him next to Len, but spacing would suffer more than it already has. Also, he's a black hole, and he kills ball movement(which we already have trouble with).

Simply as a trade chip, Kanter is worth more than IT, so you can upgrade that way and then see what you can flip Kanter for later, but I don't think he makes us better as a team.

One more thing...I don't like the fact that he's 22 and already demanding a trade. Dude seems to think he's better than he is. Not sure he's the most workable personality, and the Jazz fans at SLC Dunk seem to agree: http://www.slcdunk.com/the-downbeat/201 ... nbeat-1548
