BS. Their trying to make it seem like this wasn't all rehearsed. Bosh and Wade wouldn't have opted out if they were so uncertain about everything.

Hayward is not getting a max contract and neither is Bledsoe. So far the only contract that seems a bit out of line is Bradley at 4 years $32M meaning he will start at about $7.5M/yr with 7.5% raises. That's about $1-1.5 M/yr too much.

All the overpay bad money is being signed by eastern conference teams.

Go figure

If the Suns get Lebron, I would love Channing Frye on the team.
If the Suns don't get Lebron, I would hope Frye signs with another team unless we can get him for no more than 4 mil a year.

I still think it's stupid to actually believe lebron is coming but..

It's quite scary that Miami and Phx have been so silent..

I disagree with you. Especially Wade. He could have opted in and at the end of that contract he would likely be finished with his career. If he is truly looking at 4 yrs at $60 M, he stands to earn an additional $18-20M over the life of his career as he becomes more and more of a part time player. Bosh on the other hand is looking at 5 years which will extend him out to 35 years. He is liking for much more money and would find it a good financial deal to trade the certainty of $42M for 2 years for $80-90M for 5 years. This is good financial planning for players who are likely to begin the downside of their careers.

At this point lets just offer LeBron $30 million a year and see if he even entertains it.

I hope you are right. Although I can see someone like LA throw a massive (close to max) deal at Bledsoe once they have struck out on the premier FA's like Lebron, Melo and the like. They need someone exciting to energize the team again and Bledsoe is the best and most exciting PG available.

The question for the Suns is whether they want to overpay this season and fill the cap or hold tight until next season where the FA's on offer will be better.

For example, if the Suns sign LeBron at the max, Bosh at 15m, resign Frye at 6m, Bledsoe at 15m and then use the room exception on Al Farouq Aminu and maybe see if Grant Jerrett would bite on a minimum salary (or close to it).

Dragic/Ennis
Bledsoe/Green/Goodwin
James/Aminu/Morris/Warren
Bosh/Frye/Morris/Jerrett
Plumlee/Len

No one is overpaid in that scenario and the Suns are a DEEP team. In fact, there aren't enough minutes on that team, meaning the Suns could package the Morrii in a trade deal because their skills would be redundant. Maybe send them to Philly for picks (protected if an injured big man is available of course).

I like this team much better than LeBron/Melo. Bosh is not nearly as sexy as Melo, but he would be a much better fit.

My only quibble would be that I would start Bosh at the 5, and start Frye at the 4.

Dragic
Bledsoe
James
Bosh
Frye

Plus our very deep bench.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the LBJ/Melo pairing on anything other than paper. One would have to be played out of position and it leaves us thin on bigs really. Two things you can never have too much of: size and shooting.

I am not a big LeBron optimist, but as you see things playing out, it is beginning to look more and more like there will only be two teams where LeBron would want to play that can fit Lebron into a max salary slot. Those would be Phoenix and Miami. When you look at each team going forward and assume they sign their own free agents to the extent that they can and compare the situations, PHX is very competitive.

The Suns have the cap space to sign LeBron to a max deal, sign Bledsoe and Frye and still sign Tucker (if they want to). They would not have a mid level exception as they are under the cap right now, but neither would Miami. The Suns would sill have some cap space for further roster improvement and would have assets in terms of players and draft choices to adjust the roster as needed. The Suns would be a young athletic team with three excellent players (LBJ, Bledsoe and Dragic) as well as high level role players ( Frye, Morris Twins, Plumlee and Green) and developing players who would be instantly better with a great passer like LBJ (Len and Goodwin). In Miami he'd have a declining Wade, Bosh, Cole, and Napier and whatever else Riley can scrape together.

This is not a look back but a look forward and I think he and his agent know which situation is better going forward.

LA's problem is they want cap space for the next round of free agents - Love, Durant, Westbrook etc. Some of them might be available next year (Love). I do not think they are keen on spending a ton on Bledsoe or any other free agent this year not named LeBron or Melo - and I really think they are targeting Melo, which is close to Kobe. LeBron not so much.

Can't. There are max raises from what he made so his max is just a little over 20.
