Leaving Gobert in lost them this game. They had 5 shooters out there and Gobert barely ever stepped out of the paint to guard his man. The Clippers definitely exposed that matchup. I am a little worried for Ayton against this lineup, but Ayton has shown some decent ability to guard the perimeter better than Gobert.

He was one of the league leaders in contested 3s. Contested 3s leaders down the page here...

He certainly wasn't in this series and he was just awful offensively
Ayton can guard small players much better than Gobert and, if he can't do it, we can play something like Payne, Booker, Bridges, Crowder, Craig.LV-Suns wrote:RunDogGun wrote:Take Gobert out. If you aren't using him on offense to expose their lack of size. He can't close out the shooters.

I'm talking about Ayton. He was 6th in contested 3s in the entire NBA, 5th in contested 2s and 4th in overall contested shots.
He was also 3rd in screen assists which you can see on that link. I talked about this quite a bit during the season even when everyone was bashing him he was on these hustle leader lists.
