Bayless, Barea and Dellavedova are not decent PG’s

For Charlotte to trade Kemba, i feel like it would take Warren/Bender/Arthurs un-guaranteed contact (Instant savings) along with Bucks 1st and a future 1st from us. They would also saddle us with a bad contract, most likely Williams. They already have Tony Parker to replace Kemba (And will be re-teaming him up with fellow French National teammate Batum).

Bender/Warren/2 1sts/Arthurs instant $7.5M savings for Kemba/Williams

The Portland trade is along the same lines as the Charlotte trade, but at a higher price. Once again they would push a semi-bad contract on to us (Harkless) as they would be getting his replacement in Warren.

Jackson/Warren/Bender/Chandler/Future 1st for McCollum/Harkless

Rubio is a bit of a risk (Like Kemba) in that he is in the final year of his contract. With Mitchell showing that he can be a Wade-type primary ball handler, they can afford to lose Rubio.....at the right price. While i believe that out of the 3 he would be the cheapest option, i still believe that it would cost us Jackson, who could play the 2 next to Mitchell.

Jackson/Arthur's $7.5M instant savings/Bucks 1st for Rubio

Two things:

Brogdon is not an easy get. I think the Bucks value him super high.

Rose is on the Wolves roster.

Out of those 3, i think Barea is the best and is a decent choice. I already went into detail about him in a previous post. I like what Delly has to offer, he has that grit and toughness and is a real solid defender, not a strong shooter (37% from anywhere on the floor including 3PT), but he is a solid passer with high basketball IQ.

Bayless is Balyess. I'd rather him on cheap than to give up assets for a guy like Rozier.

Ever since the arrival of Bledsoe, Brogdon has fallen off a cliff (Which many people expected).

According to Gery Woelfel of Woelfel's Press Box, the Bucks are looking to get a deal done prior to the start of the regular season and John Henson, Malcolm Brogdon, Eric Bledsoe, and Tony Snell are some players that could be on the move.

"They have been trying to make a trade," Woelfel said. "I think the Bucks top officials know they can’t win at a high level with the group that they have and they’re trying to make a deal. You hear John Henson’s name tossed about, you hear hear Malcolm Brogdon’s name tossed about, you hear to a lesser degree Eric Bledsoe and Tony Snell. There are three guys that they’re shopping at a feverish pace."

As for Rose....you're right! I know the inked him at the end of last season, didnt realize they decided to keep him on for the veteran’s minimum. You learn something new everyday!

Arthur’s contract is guaranteed. So it’s not instant savings. But to your point- if a contract like Marvin is attached - long term cap savings. I don’t think kemba happens though

Now as a Suns fan- would you take a contract like Waiters to get Dragic

Warren/Daniels to DET for Reggie Jackson. BARF!
Bridges to TOR for Delon Wright. DOUBLE BARF!
Chandler/Daniels/Bucks 1st to BRK for Dinwiddie/Crabbe. YIKES I STEPPED IN BARF!
Warren to IND for Corey Joseph. Is he that much better than our 4 current PG's? NOPEBAAAAARF!
Warren/Arthur/2 Phx 2nds to CLE for 33 year old $20M a season George Hill. Had great coaches, but has always been mediocre. BLEH!
Jackson/Bender to BOS for Rozier/Yabu/MEM 1st/BOS 1st. Terry was only scary for an overblown overhyped 12 games. SCARY BARF!
Warren to SA for Patty Mills. Oye! Its a BAFF from me mate!
JJ/Warren to SA for Murray/Gasol. SMH!

Seriously, that is what we are dealing with! Here are the only ones that i had any interest in doing (And they were still weak and not real Needle movers):

Daniels/2020 2nd to Dallas for Barea/2020 HOU 2nd. The downside he is old, much older than he looks or even plays, but the upside is that he isnt really a negative anywhere on the court. Solid playmaker, solid passer, can score in the paint, can hit the 3, can stay in front of his man, no major flaws besides his advanced age. Seriously one of the better choices IMHO that wouldnt cost us much.

Chandler/Bender/MIL 1st for Dragic/McGruber. Some will hate the idea of giving up Bender and a 1st for Dragic, but it is what it is, 3rd times a charm for Dragic here with his national coach. You also have to admit that its a hell of a lot better than those ideas posted up above in the BARF category!

There was another with the Clippers giving up PatBev or Milo, which im all about that PatBev, but Clipperfans were/are as well and are willing to give away Milo for next to nothing, and honestly i dont see why some people want Milo at all. Jerryd Bayless was another name i saw, wouldnt mind, but not a real needle mover at all. I still think the Sixers are the team to keep an eye on as they are STACKED with PG's. Bayless/Fultz/Simmons/Shammet/McConnell/Jackson/Shake, thats serious 7 players that run the point on one team. While Simmons and rookies like Shammet and Shake would most likely be off limits, i bet Fultz could be had for a price (May be too high than we would be willing to pay), but i still feel that TJ McConnell could very well be had and would be a great target for our FO to go after (And he's cheap!).

I would be all in on a Warren for George Hill. Clears space for 2019. Balances the roster.

No way I'm moving Jackson for Rubio or Kemba. McCollum I would. CJ is an elite shooter. I love his game next to Booker. Ayton would have to drastically improve his rim protection but those three with Bridges and Ariza is a modern, spread the court starting five.

I've started to respect his game more but I'm not giving up what it would take to get him. That's the problem with making a deal right now. No team is going to be motivated to make a move.

If that is true I would love to trade for Brogdon. Prefect fit for real next to Booker.

Not sure what package can we offer for him.

Hill has a 1m buyout so you would net like 9.8m in cap space. With Anderson’s deal and Chriss gone, the Suns would have cap space in the 20s I think. Stretch Anderson, goes up to to high 20s if I remember the cap correctly

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I don't think the Sixers will trade McConnell. I mean maybe if we traded the one of our own firsts but he gets a good number of minutes, is cheap and productive for them. I don't even think they'd do it for like the Bucks pick and Okobo or Melton. They have a lot of rookie guards.

Return to Phoenix Suns
