If you think about Gobert's weaks (he can't defend small players and he is not good at scoring points) you realize Ayton is the opposite kind of center.bwoolf2 wrote:LV-Suns wrote:RunDogGun wrote:Take Gobert out. Leaving Gobert in lost them this game. They had 5 shooters out there and Gobert barely ever stepped out of the paint to guard his man. The Clippers definitely exposed that matchup. I am a little worried for Ayton against this lineup, but Ayton has shown some decent ability to guard the perimeter better than Gobert.
Ayton can also punish them on the offensive end Gobert is awful on offense

It just sucks to have them be on a four game win steak, and Mann to get 39 points. All their guys were hitting shots. We will have to hustle, watch film, and stay at home on shooters.

Well I'm sure I don't speak for everyone but I do. I guess a lot are pulling for Nash, D'Antoni and Amare though.

Bookies have our game 1 odds up, we're 4.5 point favourites.
Wonder if they know anything about Paul?

If they play small Ayton can still guard one of those guys. And when he rests we use Craig.
The one thing I will say is I wouldn't play Dario in this series. No way he can guard anyone on a small ball unit. Maybe if Zubac plays some.

Monty needs to call timeout too early than too late against the Clippers.

Hopefully Monty makes smart in game adjustments. It would be great if Payne starts(if Paul is not cleared) and does what Mann did tonight.

If I had to guess I think we will start Jevon Carter and play Point Book at home.

Re: Around the NBA including other Playoff Series
Clippers just had the largest comeback in a series clinching game in NBA history. The good thing about it is (besides we get to play them and have HCA) is that the two largest comebacks in series clinching games prior to tonight was against us...Kings in 2001 and Mavs in 2006....both around 20 pt comebacks.

Quinn lost this game. Conley shouldn't have played that many minutes. Six turnovers and 1-8 shooting. Gobert got exposed.

I think Zubac is not going to play if Ayton is not on the court.bwgood77 wrote:RunDogGun wrote:It just sucks to have them be on a four game win steak, and Mann to get 39 points. All their guys were hitting shots. We will have to hustle, watch film, and stay at home on shooters.

Yeah, Payne needs to start. I think with all this rest him and Book can play close to 45 minutes. We can also slide Book down to 1 and Bridges down to 2 when Payne sits or when Book sits.
If we play anyone else I'd play Moore.

Yeah, and they may not want him there anyway since they have played best 5 out....when he has played it's usually been less than 20 minutes.

Yeah you start Payne. Because they sub for CP early Cam has played a decent amount of minutes with that other starting 4 and they had a good net rating this season.RunDogGun wrote:Mulhollanddrive wrote:If I had to guess I think we will start Jevon Carter and play Point Book at home.

This is a big series for Cam Johnson and Craig. You need your wings to play well against the Clips.

Re: Around the NBA including other Playoff Series
I would just give more minutes to Craig and Johnson, and maybe a few to Moore. Only Dario if Zubac is in, but even then, I would push the group of Payne, Book, Bridges, Crowder, Ayton, Craig, and Johnson the most. Hopefully its only one game we miss Paul.bwgood77 wrote:RunDogGun wrote:bwgood77 wrote:

So if the East doesn't start until Wed, why are we starting Sunday? They should be starting on Monday, right?

Why do the commentators keep thinking Kawhi might come back and play?
