If we get hill and Randle

How much cap space would we have?

We currently have about $19.5M to spend (i believe that includes Bledsoe's $6.5M cap hold). Take the hold off and we have $26M. Then subtract Hill's $9M and Randle's $3M, and we are looking at $14M.

Now I could be wrong about Bledsoes caphold, so just figure somewhere between $7M and $14M.

So, "if" that trade did happen, the suns would have enough room for Monroe too. In an instant, we would go from our backcourt being a strength to our front court being a strength.

If we made the LA trade, why would we even bother signing Monroe???

If a player is a RFA for Team A and he signs an offer sheet with Team B, is Team C officially eliminated or is there some way they can get in the mix?

I'm about 95% sure team C is out of the mix. A S&T has to be worked out before the offer sheet is actually signed. If he signs it there are only two possibilities of where he could go.

That is correct. Once a player has signed an offer sheet, it is down to the team that he signed with and the team that currently still holds his rights to match.

I think you forgot Randle. Despite what you and the other Laker posters think, that Hill contact is considered bad throughout the NBA. $9M a season? For real??

As for changing the protection of the pick, i fail to think that the Lakers will be the worst team in the West and worse then 3 of the worst teams in the East, so the protection really doesnt matter, we will be getting that pick.

The reason the fakers would make that trade is because of Kobe. Sure Randal is a piece for the future but Kobe ain't got time for the rebuild. He wants guys who make them competitive right now.
