Re: Official Trade Thread: The Block Is Hot!!
So many veteran 28-30 year old SFs out there that make as much and less than PJ who average more and have played better defense this year. PJ is easily upgradable.

Suns would need to keep some bench scoring, so Green would be a no-go in any trade involving IT.
I understand. May not be a trade to be had here. We need shooting and you guys seem to need inside scoring but the pieces may not fit money wise quite right.
It might work with Green for us. If we grabbed AJ, we might move MkMo back to the bench, which would mean we would have similar bench scoring from the Morris brothers, that we had last season. Then we could try Bullock, Warren, and Goodwin in rotations at the two spot, with a constant running of Bledsoe ad Goran on the floor at all times.

Who? And are they available? I think so many here would try and put a model airplane together without using glue.

Do you mean what would the Suns want from Brooklyn for Dragic or what would the Hornets want from Brooklyn for Stephenson?
Charlotte gets Dragic, Brooklyn gets Lance, Suns get Charlotte's first round pick and X from brooklyn.
That would be hard to do because Dragic makes 7.5 million while the majority of Brooklyn's players have either rookie contracts of mega sized contracts. A trade would have to include more players I think. I do not know what that would look like.

I agree he had been a cancer and has underperformed this season. However part of me would like to see a Bledsoe, Stephenson, Tucker lineup guarding out perimeter.
Plus Stephenson almost immediately becomes an expiring due to the team option included in his contract.
Last, we would be the meanest most aggressive team since the 1989 Pistons.
Add the 1st round pick and its something i would consider.

I think it's much, much more likely that he was aware of that the whole time, but he saw a chance to nab IT on an amazing deal to add another tradeable asset to our coffers. We're in Morey pre-Harden mode...asset collection first, second and third, worry about the roster fit when you finally trade for the big fish.
Idk why everyone says IT has such an amazing deal. Do you see anyone offering Aaron Brooks $7m/yr? He's basically the same player as Isaiah, except he's taller and a little less determined. He even averaged 20 and 5 one season just like IT. Hell, he even did it on a playoff team. Isaiah's value is so low that even his own team refused to negotiate with him, and started guys like Greivis Vasquez in front of him. If Isaiah had any value, he'd be gone by now and we would not hear of any Dragic trade rumors. I think McD signed IT because he didn't think Bledsoe was coming back, if he was it would be on the QO, and he stupidly thought he could start IT and Goran together in the future.
This is such BS. Just because you and others on this forum don't like IT doesn't mean McDonough and other GMs in the league feel the same.
Do you know who else averaged 20 and 5 one season just like IT? Goran Dragic. I guess that means he's the same player as Isaiah, except he's taller and much less determined. Oh, did I mention that most people on this forum think that Goran deserves at least as big a contract as Bledsoe?
Isaiah sucks bro.... Watched him in college and I thought to myself hes a 6th man on a great defensive team, because hes such a liablility on defense, his floor general skills sucked, he turned it over way to much, he often iso balled it and would always try to create for teamates rather than letting the offense move naturally, hes also the worse defensive suns guard I have ever seen... Maybe Aaron Brooks and Marburry, but he sucks and probably will never win in the nba, he should be feasting on second units but hes so off and on. And the turnover he had vs the grizzlies this year when we lost in double OT was just pathetic lack of basketball IQ. Isaiah very talented player doesn't know how to impact the game in the correct ways other than scoring and making some occasional assists. he played well early in the year vs the warriors in that game he was great on defense but other than that he just gives no effort and gives guys layups reminds me of freaking Nash at times on defense.
Never liked how his game translated like a Nate Robinson type player, teams are staying away from those guys now like Jahii Carson who sucked, Aquille Carr etc...

Unless Goran asks for a trade, I don't think we trade him, unless we are getting another ALL NBA player in return.

You have so many trade pieces where if you traded for another SF it wouldnt even be the main part of the deal. Guys like Corey Brewer, Wilson Chandler, Teletovic, every1 for the most part is better than PJ!

Re: Official Trade Thread: The Block Is Hot!!
Based on recent quotes/interviews with Horny, McD and Babby, it seems like they want and expect Dragic to stay here.
A starting lineup of Bledsoe-IT is an unknown, and doesn't seem likely to work well in the long term.

Re: Official Trade Thread: The Block Is Hot!!
Here's a strange fact:
There are 43 two-man Suns lineups this season that have played at least 100 minutes.
Ranked in terms of net points per 100 poss., the best lineup is Len and Keef (+8.2).
The absolute worst lineup is Len and Mook (-7.8).

I haven't seen Corey and Wilson guard any centers with any close as good as PJ. I wouldn't mind Corey, but he only seems to play well against us. I have no idea if he would play well for us. Is Wilson making less than PJ?

Great scorer can carry the suns at times but hes just not a good fit here....... Great 6th man if you just want flat out scoring.

I do not see how the Suns are going to get anything more than draft picks and/or role players for Dragic because is going to be a free agent in a few months. I remember in 2010 when the Suns were considering trading Amare Stoudemire to the Cavaliers and J.J. Hickson was the sticking point. The Cavs did not want to give Hickson up because of his so called potential since they were afraid Amare might leave and they would be left with nothing after the season. Amare was still arguably the best scoring power forward in the league in 2010 and having a fantastic season. So if he could not even return Hickson, I do not expect Dragic to return much.

Im just saying PJ is not a starting SF and wouldnt start on most teams hes a great guy to have off the bench for energy.. But other than that I would rather have the suns hold off to trade for a Harrison Barnes or Draymond Green Warriors cant afford both in the off season.

Hearing Suns want a first-rounder for Goran Dragic and, rest assured, they'll get it. Rockets got to be tempted.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

YES!!!
This is a feast.
Couple of interesting stats:
Suns PnR is weak, or just being used badly:
- Considering the roll-man. 2nd team using it the least (5% of possessions), but among top 5 in PPP and FG%.
- Considering the ball-handler, we have more useage (15%), but less PPP and FG%, and a lot more TO.
Isolation generates slightly higher PPP than PnR-Ball-Handler, and we are among top 5 teams using it (10% of possessions)
So among the half-court offensive sets, we seem to insist the most on the least productive, and use the least the one that depends more on passing, which we should be stron on with 3 PG's
Yeah, we have the best roll man in the league (Wright) and somehow we cant figure it out how to use him rsrs
Dragic is our best spot-up shooter and the least productive on PNR between our 3 guards.
Been saying this to myself for awhile now. It just makes you miss #13

Why can't they afford both? The cap will go up, so paying the luxury for a season to keep their team together isn't a big deal.
PJ guards the best player on the other team at some point throughout a game. He is fine as a starter. He rebounds well, and he does all the dirt work, many players either won't, or don't do.
