I would take him there, no questions asked.

Trade Knight for RHJ and we got ourselves two long, super athletic lockdown defenders who can play multiple positions and guard multiple positions.

Bledsoe/Archie
Booker/Bogdan
TJ/RHJ
OG/PJ
Len/Chandler

Also we would have our own pick to use too.

I'm going to ignore all this Kris Dunn nonsense and move on to more relevant matters... We have Bledsoe under contract for 3 more years and there are plenty of drafts to come. PG may be the easiset position at which to land a top talent later in the draft...

If we draft Ingram, then theoretically, we'd be moving PJ and having Ingram back up TJ, right? What sort of fireworks would result from that?

At 13, I currently have us taking one of Marquese Chriss or Brice Johnson. I can't see us taking one of the best guards available at that spot (Beasley, D. Murray, Valentine, Ulis). I have us grabbing a PF no matter what happens, because we're unlikely to get as good a chance at a great PF during this rebuild due to all the talent available this year. If we take Simmons - again, we'll have a crowded front court:

Bledsoe/Knight
Booker/Boganovic
Warren/Ingram
Len/Johnson
Chandler

or

Bledsoe/Knight
Booker/Bogdanovic
Warren
Simmons/Chriss
Len/Chandler

Those are rosters any team would be jealous of. The problem with Bender that I see (if he is indeed in the Simmons/Ingram tier in terms of talent) is demonstrated by these hypothetical lineups above - can he play the three? Simmons could step into the three with another shooter at the 4 spot (Chriss or Ellenson, say). Ingram can play the 4 some and could play next to a shorter forward (like Warren) because he can protect the paint a bit. Those front courts can rotate. Can Bender rotate with another 4? I suppose Johnson, Sabonis, and Ellenson can a play some 5...

Now here's a weird one. Say you're New Orleans. Would you be willing to trade the #6 down to #12 in exchange for some of our assets? I'd be tempted. They have a bad contract in Asik and they may have interest in Brandon Knight and PJ Tucker. If Bender or Sabonis were available at 6 (but not Hield or Murray), maybe they'd be tempted by such a package (I also imagine they'd like to have Chandler rather than Asik). Easily imaginable if top 6 is Simmons-Ingram-Dunn-Murray-Hield (hypothetically, Lakers/Phoenix/Minnesota/Sixers/Celtics). Would we do something like that?

Bledsoe/Price
Booker/Bogdanovic
Warren/Ingram
Len/Sabonis or Bender
Chandler

Just rosterbating on a Sunday...

No to Len at the 4, judging by what we've seen thus far. Bender can't even manage to crack the rotation of possibly the worst Tel-Aviv team ever, one that got relegated down to Eurocup. he has multiple opt outs in his contract but still may require an expensive buy out to arrive stateside before the 2019-2020 season, no way he's ready to come over. Had a decent stretch of games recently, but he's living off his performances in the juniors where he was excellent but not as dominant as the likes of Saric/Valanciunas Also I would take Skal/Davis before Johnson, who is just an energizer bunny/Thomas Robinson 2.0, a fourth year player with limited range and polish who's scoring still primary comes from garbage buckets and putbacks

Yes. I am just not buying into the Bender story. Horrible team, horrible resume, some clips of good games that are the equivalent of AAU games in the US. Why in the world would we draft a player to do something that he has never really done at any level? I firmly believe that the GM that drafts him will lose his job over it. You have to get true production out of that top five pick. There are better options.

Simmons, Ingram, Hield, Dunn, Rabb, Brown, Sabonis. All are more reasonable choices IMO.

Dang thought he would finally commit to IU. Feel like some late lotto team that just missed out on the playoffs will take a flier on him, just for the developmental upside. But he may make(pardon the pun) it to our Cavs pick. Most websites have him as a second rounder/late 20s pick, so doubt he shakes things up early. Also looks like a 2K randomly generated MyPlayer.

7 foot, skilled big man with a 7'3 wingspan?
Probably one of the biggest boom/bust picks in the last half decade.

Would consider him with the Washington pick, and even at our own pick for sure. Would be very fun to watch this guy on the Suns considering the amount of hype behind him.

Sign me up.

Found this comment on Facebook regarding Thon Maker.

Yes! Come to Phoenix where they are already playing like a high school team.... Bring your friends too!

Based on what? He has had poor showings at camps like the Nike Hoops Summit. His prep mixtape is straight fire, but also misleading he's bouncy and mobile but not perimeter oriented. The comps he was getting as a KG/KD lovechild in Mutombo's body were wack . Rotation big at best/ DLeague sideshow at worst

Big men with skills like this just don't come along that often. He can dribble, he can post up, he has size, he can protect the rim. Who does he remind me of? Towns. Yeah, I'd take a middle 1st round flier on him. If I don't, somebody else will.

Look at Antetokoumpo. Physical ability goes a long way in this league.

98% of players taken after pick 20 end up no better than a FA you can get, so might as well swing from the fences.

Bender has only shot 3 Two-Point FG Attempts in his last 65 minutes of playing time and 6 rebounds per 36 in his last 6 games. They are the two huge question marks on him, as if they don't improve his ceiling becomes Channing Frye.

Someone will pick him at the lottery.

A gamble for sure.

Id look at him at wizard's pick..... And consider a 2 year stint at the D league and bulking up.

He is as much of a project as Bender.... Bender's experience against adult men players is the difference. But Maker looks to have more skills.

I wouldn't mind giving a shot to Thon Maker with the Cavs pick based on his physical profile alone. He is most likely the Perry Jones of this draft. Stash him in the D-league for couple years and see if he could adapt to the NBA game. Can't really expect much with the 28th pick.

Hope McD can get Bender and Maker in the same draft workout. That would be PPV worthy.

I'm all aboard the OG Anunoby bandwagon.

He is an athletic freak of nature similar to Giannis, and he just put together solid numbers in his last 6 games to show he has both the athleticism and basketball skills to work with.

We are too **** to waste a lotto pick on a guy that will spend 2 years in the d-league. Wish we had that luxury.

Why not? Everyone is saying "we can't add 4 rookies next year". We have so many picks we can use some of them on high risk high reward players.
