Honestly, you have to remember how much people are homers for their draft picks. Everyone wants to hope they are going to be great, so you can't really blame the Lakers fans.

Think about it, if there was a rumored deal with Plumlee, our first round pick and Warren going to Detroit for Monroe, I bet almost everyone here would say NO WAY we give up Warren...maybe the majority would say he would be better than Monroe.

But you tell that to Pistons fans, they would laugh, because they don't see Warren through the rose colored classes we do, and Monroe has played in the league and put up pretty good rebounding numbers and they offered him what we offered Bledsoe.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the Lakers, but I can fully understand them having really high over the top hopes for Randle (even though I'm not high on him whatsoever...would have taken Gordon or Vonleh over him, but part of that is because we work best with a stretch 4, and Vonleh can do that and is good inside, and Gordon's intangibles, work ethic and defense would be nice to have if needed off the bench). Randle is probably the most ready to contribute, especially offensively right now though.

It's a shame that the Hawks aren't interested in Bledsoe. They got some players who would fit very well here.

Not true. I was on their forum earlier and GinobiliFlops was doing the same thing over there and one of their mod's gave him the same post, "Piss Off". That is why i replied as so, to show fairness and instill a warning that further posts as such will not be tolerated.

Hmm I guess things must have changed on their board cause back when they signed Marshall last season, I got suspended for asking which superstar FA in his prime other than Shaq has signed with the Lakers in free agency.

There is a difference between trolling and defending yourself when being attacked on another board for no reason. AK was merely defending himself from people being asshats.

Kerrsed wrote:Even though i think Hill would fit in great here, his contract is bad. Hill and his contract = Lin and his contract. It cost HOU a 1st to dump Lin, just as it should cost LA to dump Hill. That would just be straight up without us giving up anybody (like LA did with HOU). Bledsoe for Randle straight up is pretty even and fair, hence why Bledsoe for Randle/Hill/1st makes complete sense.

Dont sell us short. Changing the protection from top 5 to top 3 is worthless. Do you guys honestly believe that LA will be the worst team in the West and worst than the bottom 4 in the East?

I do think changing top 5 to top 3 is pretty worthless. I think they could be bad. I can't see them being any better than anyone in the west except for maybe Utah. I'm not sure what eastern teams will be worse other than Philly. Orlando needs to get better at some point, however, if they start Payton and Gordon they will be bad for sure. Those guys will probably both be good in the long run but neither can shoot. Their defense will be great but they will have one of the worst offensive teams in the league.

The main thing about the Lakers though, is that no matter what they finish, there is a pretty good chance they will end up with a top 3 pick just from the lottery drawing. They will probably have pretty good odds. But they could also finish with the 4th worst record and get the 6th draft pick, if two teams lower than them happen to get drawn for top 3 picks.

Another thing, even if we don't get their pick, they will likely be even worse the following year with Kobe a year older, etc. Since they signed guys to two year contracts they probably won't add anyone next summer since they are trying to clear cap space for Durant and company in 2016.

Worst case scenario though is that they get a top 5 pick this year and a top 3 pick the following year and add a major free agent or two in 2016 when Randle is a solid piece. Love could go there if he opts in to his last year of current contract which makes sense for him financially regardless of where he is. There is an outside chance Durant or LeBron go there too..though that is probably an extremely slim chance especially if they are terrible.

But worst case would be what happened with Atlanta...they luck out and win top 3 pick so it's protected (Atlanta took Horford) so instead of getting a guy like Noah who we likely take that year if we keep Atlanta pick, it rolls over, they got good and we got Lopez instead.

Man, imagine that 2010 team with Noah instead of Lopez. Damn.

Bledsoe's attorney needs to fire Bledsoe's agent so Bledsoe can accept the reasonable and fair offer from the Suns.

Or, Eric can demand a trade to the Lakers.

Lakers receive: Eric Bledsoe
Suns receive: Julius Randle, Jeremy Lin

Lin has a 1 year $15mill salary, but only $8mill counts towards the cap. Lin takes Bledsoe's spot and regains some of his LINSANITY mojo in the Suns system. Amost all good point guards end up looking great in the Suns system (except Kendall Marshall).

Randall could blow up to be a beast at the 4.

I think you forgot Randle. Despite what you and the other Laker posters think, that Hill contact is considered bad throughout the NBA. $9M a season? For real??

As for changing the protection of the pick, i fail to think that the Lakers will be the worst team in the West and worse then 3 of the worst teams in the East, so the protection really doesnt matter, we will be getting that pick.

Randle/Hill/HOU 1st for Bledsoe

Randle can't be traded til August and Hill can't be traded til December.

Hill hast formally signed on the dotted line yet. The contact was verbally agreed to, but he has not signed the actual contract, so yes, he can be traded.

As for Randle, no s**t! I have said that at least 6 times now. He has to wait 30 days from when he signed until he can be traded, so that would be in like 2 and a half weeks.

Technically, Hill cannot be traded. With a verbal agreement in place, but no executed contract, he is in a purgatory. Lakers have no rights in Hill to trade without the executed contract. I suppose they could cancel the verbal agreement making Hill a free agent again and a S&T could be executed, but if that were the case, the Suns could sign him straight up if they were that interested. With a sign and trade, Hill has to want to come to the Suns. And who is to say he will want to play for the Suns for $9+M/yr (overpay) when he and his agent are aware of all the cap space the Suns have. He might like to have more and could demand it to make this hypothetical Lakers-Suns deal work. It is not like Wiggins where his compensation is set.

Getting Hill and Randall to the Suns is a far more complicated proposition than some make it out to be.

This Lakers-Suns "rumor" has no basis in fact and is likely to be nearly impossible to pull off under the CBA and rules, even if the teams were inclined to attempt it.

What's wrong with small balls? I never understood the desire for large balls. Unless we're speaking metaphorically. But I don't think we are.

The only reason I'd be willing to match anything thrown Bledsoe's way is because of his defense. If all we wanted was offense, we could do better than Lin.

Yeah, I'd think about a Teague/Millsap deal, but you'd want to hold onto Millsap for longer, but if nothing else, he would be a little more of a bridge to let Kieff come off the bench one more year with his brother before starting. But Millsap is a much better version of Frye in every respect, and became a respectable 3 pt shooter last season. Even Teague and Korver would be a little intriguing...I suggested that in a GB thread (after a Hawks poster asked if we'd be interested in trading with them) and he said Teague/Korver would be too much.

Obviously I'd do it if Horford was included, but most of us know they won't trade him unless they have serious injury concerns.

Yeah, I don't mind it (but definitely understand it), and you seem to be fairly lenient. I find it a bit humorous unless it gets WAY out of hand, and I never do that on other team's boards and usually try to see things from their perspective when discussing things. I never understood the trolling other team's boards thing, and it doesn't do that poster any good...it's probably someone not well liked on their own board either.
