I know people complain about BSOTS a lot but I think it's awesome that they produce all of this content FOR FREE. These guys don't get paid by SBNation, they don't get paid by AZCentral or Arizona Sports 98.7 or any other local news outlet. It's 100% volunteerism, and it's awesome.

Then SB Nation is running a pretty big scam. That sucks. I assumed they got something for their efforts. Each team in each sport has a site. With a lot of traffic & a lot of revenue generated by that traffic.

Ha but wait is that a dash or a minus sign? Is it $13m with the chance of becoming $14.25m, or $11.75m with the chance of becoming $13m?

Everyone knows the Suns want to get rid of Markieff. A few outlets have reported it. Gambo said the Suns would love to get rid of him. However there are not many power forwards available to replace him. Regardless, I expect him to get traded, not stay with the Suns like McDonough is saying. I do not believe that. Hearing McDonough say he has not spoken to Markieff personally is not a good sign of wanting a player to stay. He is the GM of the team. If you value a player and want to keep him, you are going to speak to him personally after you trade his brother knowing he will be disappointed about it. McDonough has not done that. He said he hopes to at least talk to him on the phone at some point. Seriously? Talk to him on the phone? You traded his twin brother a week ago and you have not spoken to him once? Markieff ain't coming back. If he was, the Suns would be treating him with more respect. They do not want him on the team anymore.

In the game of chess between Keef and McD, Keef's been put in check due to some good planning by McD. One way or another, the culture on this team is going to grow thanks to all the veteran additions. McD killed the queen (Mook) and now has a significant advantage. Check mate is coming soon enough: the time which Keef is forced to turn that corner and grow up.

That's a good question. I guess it's the later.

It's $13M with the chance of $14.25. The incentive falls into two categories. Likely or not likely. But I believe in the CBA the 1st year all incentives count for cap number. Then the following year goes down & if the incentive is likely (10 rebounds a game for a guy that usually averages 10 rebounds a game or all star team for a guy that makes the all star team usually) it goes in the cap number. If not then it doesn't until the goal is reached then it goes in the following year. We had this with Goran when he made All NBA.

From what I gathered from Tom Chambers when he was on 98.7, the teams wants a grown-up Markief. According to Tom, Markief is an above average PF and could possibly be better; the Suns want to see if that is the case. With the absence of his brother, they are hoping he gets over his initial grief and disappointment and focuses on being a better player. You have to admit, Markief has shown flashes and is on a great contract.

I changed my position on him after listening to Kempton and Chambers. I wanted him out, but let's see what he has to offer.

This could be a career turning point for Markieff. It's time to finally become a man and a professional. It'll start by him taking some blame (for once) and committing to making a change. I think being away from his brother will do wonders. Finally having some real vets in that locker room is going to go a long way as well. But if those first two things don't happen, this is all a lost effort. If he continues to pout and refuses to grow up, I think his career in the NBA could be over. No team wants a 6'10 crybaby that pouts because he can't play on the same team as his twin. The off-court issues and on-court complaining don't help either. Time for Markieff to hit the reset button and reach his full potential. Times running out.

The only people that get paid are the administrators. Seth Pollack used to be the Bright Side site editor(unpaid), but he's now the head of the entire SBNation NBA divison, so he moved from PHX to DC for the paying gig.

All the writers like Dave King, Jim Cougheneour, Scott Howard, etc. are just really awesome, committed fans.

Jim's too much of a negative Nancy, he'd fit right in around these parts.

True ... I've always imagined he posted here with the large volume of negative crapola our board receives. Then I realized he has too large of a vocabulary for most of us mere mortals and those negative posts just didn't fit his literary style.

Kieff has the potential to be a David West type guy - 18-20pts with 8-9 rebs a game. But he can't keep his head on straight.

I think Chandler will be the 'big brother' type Kieff needs, someone to tell him to shut his mouth and just play.

There hasn't been anyone 'bigger' than him who would stand up to him - and whatever happened, everyone knew Marcus was there as well to back him up.

It will do him good to get humbled, cos you can be damn sure if he mumbles something under his breath Tyson isn't taking a step back.

Just finished watching the Marcus Morris introductory press conference in Deroit. Dude is straight up pissed! It was over in 5 minutes and I've never seen somebody look so disinterested in joining a new team. His body language and short answers were just hard to watch.

And it sounds like McD had a move in place for Markieff, but didn't remove his finger off of the piece, allowing him to go back to the original spot and not end his turn. I'm glad McD also brought back a Knight, looking to gain an edge. However, he may have been overaggressive with another signing. Still hoping he can pull off another exchange... 2-3 months is the time-control on this match, so let's see what counter moves can be made. We are definitely towards the endgame.

I think he'll play pretty well in Detroit as the starting small forward. I honestly feel like the two bros need to get out of each other's shadows.

He has twenty million reasons just to shut up and play ball.
