Rich Paul probably told him that to get more out of us.

Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread 4
Well, I know that some of you don't belive nothing that Broussard or Chad Ford says, but they have real info on his hands because this is their work. Broussard has bad info sometimes, but a ton of times he advance news. For example, he said that LeBron, Bosch, Wade, etc were not on the same page when they go to FA (everybody were thinking that all of them would sign for Miami).
About Ford, I remember that he was the only one reporting that our FO strangely were looking for point guards in this offseason, exploring trades or signing FAs. He thought that probably we were looking to trade Dragic or Bledsoe, but that was only an opinion, not something that he was hearing. Later, we signed Isaiah, so that info was true.
Hopefully this time Broussard's info is not true and we are nearing to agreed on a new and fair contract with Bledsoe...but this is not looking good.

If Bledsoe wants to play for the QO then let him. It would be one of the stupidest decisions in NBA history. No exaggeration there whatsoever, it's that dumb.

If Bledsoe takes the QO, there is no point in playing him. Let him rot on the bench.

I don't believe it happens but I do believe Broussard has heard from Paul that they are considering going the QO route. I think Chris was the first one to jump back on the Lebron to Cleveland bandwagon and he did it in a way that suggested inside info. It seems to me he's buddied up with Paul and isn't smart enough to realize that Paul is just working him to try and scare Phoenix.

I think I'd play him 40 minutes a game. He's really only good for 30 to 32 minutes, perhaps those 8 extra minutes will drive his averages down far enough to pull his next contract down too. Maybe we'll lose him but it would be nice to hurt Paul in the process if that happens. I wouldn't usually advocate being petty but if this idiot costs us Bledsoe, I'd be willing to lower my standards for a little payback.

No point in giving him anytime. If he takes the QO, he's not part of the future. Better to give time to players who are part of our long term plans (Dragic, Thomas, Goodwin, Ennis).

Goodwin and Ennis aren't ready for prime time. Dragic and Thomas don't need the mileage or the experience. If you're willing to play Goodwin and Ennis major minutes it's only because you've decided to play for three years from now rather than today. If that's the case, you might as well do Goran a favor and trade him to a team that wants to win. Start Bledsoe and Green and use Ennis and Goodwin for 20 minutes each. That team will not win a lot of games.

You sure want to do a lot to a guy you say isn't part of the future. Why not play him normally and get wins? You know, stay professional

Broussard is horrible but I think he is from Cleveland so just helping out Paul
The thing is - if Bledsoe were willing to negotiate with the starting point at like 4/60 - I am sure the Suns will move. But - if he is still serious about 5/84 - ZERO REASON or the Suns to move off of 4/48 as the market just is not there
Iam sure Bledsoe will be a Sun but this is stupid. Get a new agent. And if he takes th QO - he is stupid. Will be very hard to earn back what he lost. Not impossible but hard. And if he gets hurt - done!
And if he really wants the QO - also ask him who he wants to be traded too and see if a deal can be worked out to that team and be done with the nonsense.

I've said it before. If eb signs for the QO then he will be traded by mid season. He won't return for us

Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread 4
I am getting the feeling Bledsoe just does not want to be in Phoenix and that is what is really going on. It is not about him thinking he is worth a max contract. He is demanding it because he knows for a fact the Suns will not give it to him and he is trying to force his way off the team. I believe if he was a restricted free agent for the Lakers and they offered him the same contract the Suns have, he would jump on it. For whatever reason, I think he does not want to be a Phoenix Sun. It is like the only way he will put up with staying in Phoenix is if he gets an offer he cannot refuse, which is the 5 year, 84 million dollar max. Otherwise, he just wants to leave.

Honestly he has never embraced phx. It's been obvious to me since day one, phx isn't where he would "like" to be but if he gets paid he would "accept" it.

It's evident that Bledsoe thinks he's too good for Phoenix. Trade him away for the best package asap.

My opinion echoes yours. I think he has a small list of teams he really wants to play for and while the Suns isn't one of those teams, he'd still be happy to play for us but it would be have to be at a premium. I think he's indifferent when it comes to playing for Phoenix but since Phoenix isn't one of the teams he really wants to play for, he wouldn't play for less than max.
Or at least, that's the way Rich Paul is selling it.

Unfortunately players that are signed to a QO on their rookie deal cannot be traded.

You're probably right. Outside of sporadic positive comments made on Twitter, "Indifferent" is seemingly the accurate word to describe Bledsoe's feelings towards Phoenix. I guess it comes down to, which other teams could practically offer Bledsoe 4/48 with Bledsoe having a mutual interest for the other team?

It depends on what is really going on emotionally with Bledsoe. I doubt anyone outside of the five people involved know (and perhaps just Paul and Bledsoe).
If he actually likes the Suns and is just hiding behind Paul hoping to get more money, then it would benefit us to continue being affable in hopes that he might sign with us next year.
If he legitimately wants to get out of town, then your strategy would be fine, along with trying to trade him before the deadline to a team trying to get into the playoffs (Lakers?).
