You only insulted half the world's population. Surely you can do better?

I'm sure it will be fine. It's not like Women hold grudges or anything

I assume your "jeez man" comment was made in frustration and not necessarily to me, since I was clearly just providing my take on the situation here.

I honestly think the Suns will pull out all of the appreciation stops to smooth and pave the way for the contract signing. They'll do all that, and give Bledsoe a little bump over what they've offered to show the Bledsoe's tactic worked somewhat, and all can be hunky-dory again. Everybody saves some face, Bledsoe feels appreciated, he gets paid, and everybody gets back to work.

I think this is what happens too. But Paul is the big question mark, he may not view reality the way that many of us do.

Actually your words cut me to the core. I couldn't help but drop a J bomb

I can't think of any star player mentally weak to the point we would have put more of his highlights in a video just to appease him. Can you image Kobe, Mike, Duncan or LBJ needing that?

Also I don't want to reward primadonna behavior. He's not good enough to be primadonna and you have to take into account his contract will probably effect Dragic's contract next summer so any "bump" you give Bledsoe to smooth things over might as well be double because we are going to have to do the same thing for Dragic.

I just want players I respect on my team. I haven't disliked a Sun this much sense starbury's corny ass was on the was playing for the suns

It seems Rondo wants out. Here's a disgruntled star and McD surely knows him. It could be a fantastic replacement to Bledsoe especially in the defensive department and an HUGE upgrade in the playmaking department.

There are some issues though:

- Does Rondo really want to come here and sign an extension? Locker room issues may arise, he's known for a difficult personality.
- Do we really want to move forward with the 2 PG line-up?
- Is Ainge willing to give Bledsoe MAX or near MAX?

What's your opinion on trading for Rondo?

Since both have/had knee issues, I'd rather take our chances with giving Bledsoe the max instead of Rondo (since that's what he's rumored to be after)

I say yes to the 2 PG line-up but hell no to the Rondo question. And I think the 2 PG lineup requires something more like 2 combo guards then 2 point guards.

While I don't disagree on the prima donna assertion, this type of kow-towing to egos happens all the time in the NBA and all professional sports. The teams have figure out ways to ingratiate themselves to players without spending cap money. That is why you see mocked up jerseys for free-agents, names on billboards across Phoenix, phone calls from local celebrities.....All in the name of appealing to the egos of the players. Now some need that more than others, and some see it and don't believe their own hype as much (IT, ahem), but this happens constantly. This is how a business is run in the NBA.

I would trade Rondo for Bledsoe straight up even without Rondo resigning in Phoenix. Let it see how it works out then decide that coming into the next offseason to resign and how much he's worth.

Rather have that then some no name players coming to Phoenix.

Needed me some Suns vids over the weekend so had a quick look as neither guy made that many 'WOW' plays like Green or Dragic, apart from the odd one.

Very tough pair and I think they're going to have strong seasons, Kieff especially if he can stay out of foul trouble. They're both long mixes but show how both players have that versatility to their game, and I love that both are already there entrenched in workouts and immersing themselves in Phoenix - LOVE it.

Kieff highlights:

Mook highlights:

Also, don't want ANYTHING to do with Rondo.

His injury record is even worse than Bledsoe's and he's 3yr older, but not only that he's played nearly 15,000 MINUTES more than Bledsoe.

I'm not doubting Rondo as a player and a superior floor general, but he's not nearly as good defensively as he was, or as good as Bledsoe is now on D. He also can't make the 3 or FTs, which limits his skill at the end of games in terms of working in tandem with Dragic for the dual PG lineup.

I'd rather send EB to MIL for Knight/Sanders or Knight/Henson, and maybe try sneak a pick out of them.

No thanks. Bledsoe is younger, cheaper (both are expiring if Eric takes the QO) and fits much better with Dragic than Rondo.

Rondo wants a max next summer which is 20 mil per. Thanks but no thanks.

He could be a nice fit on a team like Sacramento but we need a guard who can shoot and score a little bit for double pg system to be effective.

That's what I was going to say. I'm not a huge Rondo fan (because I like point guards who can shoot) but if the alternative is giving Bledsoe 5/84 or him taking the QO, I'd probably do it, and then let Rondo walk after next year. It gives Goodwin and others a chance improve while we can continue running the 2 pg lineup, it replaces the D, and there is also the possibility we could trade him.

So it's better than losing him for nothing, but I wouldn't give Rondo the max next summer either. And then at least we'd have cap space to go after someone next summer. If Kieff shows he is better as a bench guy with his bro, we could go after Millsap. If not, we go for a sharpshooter or maybe a center if Plumlee and/or Len don't look like long term starters for a contender.

I guess most of the above could also happen if Bledsoe simply took the QO, but I don't know how that would all work with him playing for the QO (if chemistry or resentment would be a problem).

While Rondo might not fit on the team as well for some reasons (can't shoot) he would probably make everyone else better and Dragic could really focus on scoring more (instead of standing around when Bledsoe has the ball) while also being able to playmake and play pick n roll.

Rondo getting everyone else involved could really help since our team had one of the lowest assist rates last year.

Since we dont have a seperate thread on the world cup, a couple of observations:

Zoran just popped a perfect game (against Mexico, but still). 8/8 from the field 4/4 from 3, 2/2 FT for 22 points overall, 3 reb, 2 assist, 3 steals and no turnovers. He is getting a contract next year from the league I'm pretty sure, although his age might be a small problem.

Goran had (another) good game with 6/8 from the field ( 1/2 3s and 5/7 FTs), one rebound, 6 assist, 18 points overall.

Bogdan Bogdanovic had an OK game with not so great shooting against France. 12 pts with 5/13 shooting, 3 rebounds one assist and a steal.

Giorgui Deng is quickly becoming one of the best Centers in the tournament with another strong performance, in two games he is averaging 19,5 pts, 13,5 rebs, 1,5 blocks and 2 steals. Here is hoping he ll help Minnesota next yr, so we can get our draftpick before it turns to second rounders.

Seen the Croatia-Argentina game, Saric did not impress me that much - he is good, but not as good as advertised imho.

Dante Exum cant really get off the bench/stay on the floor for the Aussies. Wonder whatsup with that.

Greek Freak had a couple quiet games so far, also off the bench.

Motiejunas and Valanciunas forming a young but already strong inside duo for Lithuania.

Spain is Spain, see them in the finals against US (who seem to have a bit of trouble against Turkey early on).

I've ALWAYS wanted Zoran. Would love a Dragic Zoran Marcus Markieff lineup.

That would be awesome.

Bledsoe-frying pan. Rondo- fire.

Return to Phoenix Suns
