Rather have that then some no name players coming to Phoenix.

That's what I was going to say. I'm not a huge Rondo fan (because I like point guards who can shoot) but if the alternative is giving Bledsoe 5/84 or him taking the QO, I'd probably do it, and then let Rondo walk after next year. It gives Goodwin and others a chance improve while we can continue running the 2 pg lineup, it replaces the D, and there is also the possibility we could trade him.
So it's better than losing him for nothing, but I wouldn't give Rondo the max next summer either. And then at least we'd have cap space to go after someone next summer. If Kieff shows he is better as a bench guy with his bro, we could go after Millsap. If not, we go for a sharpshooter or maybe a center if Plumlee and/or Len don't look like long term starters for a contender.
I guess most of the above could also happen if Bledsoe simply took the QO, but I don't know how that would all work with him playing for the QO (if chemistry or resentment would be a problem).
While Rondo might not fit on the team as well for some reasons (can't shoot) he would probably make everyone else better and Dragic could really focus on scoring more (instead of standing around when Bledsoe has the ball) while also being able to playmake and play pick n roll.
Rondo getting everyone else involved could really help since our team had one of the lowest assist rates last year.
