Re: Tankapalooza: 2014 Draft Thread
Players to watch out for outside of the obvious 3 (Randle, Wiggins, Parker)
- Wayne Selden SG 6’5, Wade-esque body and athleticism, can shoot a bit too. Him and Wiggins would be great 1-2 tandem at Kansas.
- James Young SG/SF 6’6, Good shooter and decent athlete. Interested on how he will perform and if he climbs or not.
- Joel Embiid C 7’0, potential dark horse #1 pick… if he bulks up a bit and show a defensive game he will be a top 2 pick come next July.
Any of the above players would be welcome to Suns…
Joel Embiid and Alex Len front court.. I would move Len as PF, Duncan-like role and have Embiid as center play the Admiral (broken back decline version).
Hence its paramount to get Len some touches as a back to the basket and some top of the key possesions to get him to learn quick.

Guess the tank has been re-fueled and had its maintenance briefly there... Now it's back on the road!

Re: Tankapalooza: 2014 Draft Thread
Anyone think Wiggins might not be able to handle the pressure thrown at him this early? He hasn't even played a game in college and Nike and Adidas are already thinking about giving him 180 million dollar contracts. He is already being compared to durant. Compare that to someone like Randle and Parker who are in the shadow working hard to prove everybody wrong.
I don't know maybe i'd prefer it if we land the 2nd pick and get someone with a killer mentality like randle.

I read that the 180mil offer was a hoax.
You do have a point about Wiggins but we'll see this college season how he actually does. If he handles himself well and has a good season, he'll make the transition fine. Lebron was highly touted and came out fine.
I would be happy having the worst NBA record so we are guaranteed a top 5 pick (but would be devastated if we landed the 4th pick in that situation.

I don`t see Micic as a NBA player. He is a slightly better Kendall Marshall at this moment in time. And I am not sold on Harris, McGary and Poythress at all.
Players I`d target:
- Wiggins, Parker or Randle with our own pick,
- Gordon, Robinson or Hezonja (package Minny and Washington picks to move up for one of them),
- McDermott with Indy pick.
Dragic/Bledsoe
Bledsoe/Goodwin
Parker/Tucker
Gordon/McDermott
Len/Plumlee
I believe Jabari Parker and Aaron Gordon would be a terrific combo at 3 and 4. They can also switch forward positions between them with ease.

I don't think we'll be able to package our mid-teens picks to move into the top 10. Houston couldn't do it 2 years ago and it was a weaker draft than this one.

It should be enough moving up to 10-12 range to pick one of those guys, imo.
Robinson is projecting to go 12th by DraftExpress, 9th by NBADraft.net, Gordon (4th - DE, 18th - .net), Hezonja (10th, 14th), Selden (14th, 6th) right now. At least one of them should be there.
Picking up Randle with, let`s say, 2nd pick and Selden (or Robinson) with 10-12th would also make very good sf/pf duo.

^Not to mention Jabari is less likely to leave college than most other guys.

Re: Tankapalooza: 2014 Draft Thread
I'm more and more thinking that Jabari Parker is the real #1 player in next years draft. Any perception of this kid being under athletic are waaaaaaaayyyyyy off

Parker is the full package right now, while Wiggins is still missing a few things

Re: Tankapalooza: 2014 Draft Thread
I always knew Parker was good. People putting his athleticism down didn't know what they were talking about.
All 3 of Wiggins, Parker, and Randle are all monsters. Any of the 3 instantly gives us a superstar. I'd LOVE to have the #1 overall, but I won't complain with #2 or #3 either lol.
