Nope. I'm just taking things one game at a time. We beat Blazers home and away after dropping a disaster of a Game 1 against the Mavs. We seem to have it together a bit, and the game in LA against the Clippers will be an early test of how good this team is early in the year.

As always, Go Suns.

The Kings are taking them the distance right now on the road. It won't be easy but if we can rebound well again and get to the line we'd be in the game. Maybe Kieff will explode in the 4th when we meet big plays down the stretch. I just wish they compete and not lay an egg like the opener.

I kind of hope the Clips win (wouldn't normally) but I think they might come out stronger and more focused after a loss.

I think that it might be good to incorporate a GLB into our game threads like here (though I guess it didn't help them)...click on spoiler...viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1411851&start=27#start_here

That was a really fun game to watch. I was surprised to see Bledsoe egging on the crowd early. It was great to see some fire from him, Chandler, and Knight. I'd love to see that intensity every game.

Also, the broadcasters were pretty funny tonight. Lot of weird deadpan comments. Great game all around.

I think so. We lost so many heartbreaking games that I don't wish that upon anyone except Clippers. Hehe

I waa looking over the box score and noticed the Blazers shot poorly from the line 16/28 (57%) we dodged a bullet there otherwise game comes down to the wire.

The Suns can finish 80-2 and you'll still find over a dozen of weaknesses with this team. Both our guards just played an amazing game and instead of saying positive things you reflect on what occured in the past. Bled&KNIGHT are different types of players that don't need to record 9+ assists a game it's just not their game and it's fine cause they play different style of basketball.

I did not say they did not play great. They played very well but I would absolutely not say it was amazing. You know who did play amazing tonight? Steph Curry. 53 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals in only 36 minutes on 17-27 fg including 8-14 3 pts. So you can drool all over one game the Suns backcourt had against a Blazers team expected to go nowhere but I am going to stick to my opinion. The Suns are going to have to do a whole lot better than 16 assists against 13 turnovers and 41.5% fg if they wanna be a good team. Those are horrible offensive numbers as a team. HORRIBLE.

Speaking of Steph Curry, remember when the Suns almost traded Stat for him during the draft?

Bled is a great competitor..... when he feels there is someone he has to prove himself against. Some interesting stat-lines from him last season: against LAC (CP3) - 13.8 pts, 6.0 rebs, 10.5 assists (his highest against any opponent last season) and 2.0 steals per game, against Houston (Harden) - 28.5 pts (highest against any opponent, also most FTA at 11 per game), 6.0 rebs, 5.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks, against OKC (Westbrook) - 21.0 pts, 4.3 rebs, 7.0 assists and 1.5 blocks, against Toronto (Lowry) - 22.5 pts, 4.5 rebs, 7.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1 block. Although he struggled against Golden State (Curry), Cleveland (Kyrie, Lebron - pacified by friendship?), and Washington (Wall).
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

You simply can't compare any guard to Steph at this point, except maybe Russell Westbrook. It's clear that Knight and Bledsoe aren't on their level but just because they're not superhuman doesn't mean they're not amazing either. And keep in mind that Steph got his 53 tonight against a Pelicans team that is apparently not good enough to be carried by Anthony Davis alone. They are literally using Ish Smith at guard over there.

Anyone know why Booker isn't getting much playing time in last two games? Against Mavs he scored 13 but only played 2 minutes combined in the next two games.

Because he is a rookie. Because he doesn't play defense. Because he has to earn his stripes. Because the rotation needed to be tightened.

All his minutes have been in junk time so far.

Really happy to see Bledsoe and Knight combining for 60 points, 11 assists and 6 steals. And they really played great and under control basketball.

This game gives us an example of what McD and Hornacek envisioned pairing Bled and Knight.
Good to know that this can we work.

Fun fact : Suns are 2-0 after Nash's ring of honor. Will they ever get beat again?

The Grizzlies are to the Suns what the Suns are to the Blazers.

A nightmare. Grizzlies would beat the Suns if the Grizzlies were playing on the 4th night of a back to back to back to back with the Suns having 2 days of rest and Suns would beat the Blazers under that same scenario with the Blazers having 2 days of rest.

Oh please, lets not act as if the Suns are a franchise that treasures defense and won't play players who can't play that well.

If that's the case how did Dragic, IT, Green, Marcus, hell even Teletovic all get minutes over the years?

Guys like Towns, Okafor etc earned their "stripes" through both practice and games. Every single Suns staff member and player have raved about Booker and his ability in practice.

Its only been 3 games so its not a big deal but I hope we don't continue some BS narrative that he shouldn't get minutes because he's a 17 year old rookie or whatever. Kobe Bryant was 18 years old when he started for a Lakers team with championship aspirations and I'd say he turned out pretty well.

Obviously I'm not saying Booker is the next Kobe or that he has Kobe's ability but at the same time, Suns aren't a team with championship aspirations or even anything close to that. The goal is to somehow sneak in as the 8th seed, that's it.

I don't blame Hornacek for not playing him so far since again its only been 3 games but if Weems and Tucker continue to play the way they been playing so far, then Booker should be getting lot of their minutes.

Return to Phoenix Suns
