found this gem on the hornets board :D (booker thread for 2015 draft)

I know he has a good frame, good shooting mechanics and decently athletic, but what makes him any better than Troy Daniels? Daniels can hit wide open shots just like Booker and is actually probably a better shooter. I just don't think Booker projects as an elite scorer at the NBA level. He will be lucky to be as good as JJ Redick at the end of his career. Redick had a lot of time to develop at Duke and came into the NBA knowing what it was like to be the man, get his own shot, be the guy the defense is focused on stopping. Booker will never be that guy at the next level.

other than this post, most of them seemed high on booker (and rightfully so!) but I guess this is why that one dude was pushing the kaminsky > booker narrative

Additionally, in the "scoring guards who can't create their own shot" thread - someone mentioned Devin Booker.

I'm not sure where this irrational hate for Booker by people who have clearly never watched him play comes from - but saying he can't create his own shot might be the dumbest criticism leveled against Booker yet.

I don't know the actually statistics but I wouldn't be surprised if Booker led the NBA in 20+ scorers with the greatest amount of unassisted fgs (as a percentage of their total production)

It is always the same story with great young players on losing teams.

I remember pretty well that LeBron was just a physical specimen for a lot of people in his first years in the league.

Recognition takes time.

I am not bothered at all. Booker is an AMAZING basketball player, everyone is gonna agree with that in a few years IMO.

These forum are dominated by Lakers Celts and Knicks fan, straight penis envy by them. Boston is a theory team that hasn't done anything and have 1 title in the past 10 years and haven't been "Boston" since the 80's, LAL is the same story, and the Knicks...yea ok.

We are building something and it doesn't have to be recognized ever; even after we win a title people will have something to say. I'm done with people who put Mitchel and Tatum and Oladipo and Brown and CJ ahead of Booker. Booker has a track record, those guys don't. I know better.

JMac1- If I could give you 10 thumbs up for this I would. I don't guarantee much that I don't have control over, but if Booker were suddenly available, all of those teams would be beating a path to Booker's or Mc D's door to try to get him. Boston who has 3 small forwards would trade any of them, yes including Tatum, for a 21 year old shooting guard who averaged 25, 5 and 5 last year and is already an elite scorer. Ainge has already tried to pry him away more than once starting in Booker's rookie year. The Lakers would trade anyone and everyone (except LBJ) on its roster for Booker. Before Magic formally became whatever he is now with the Lakers, he was trying to sell Booker on the Lakers. I don't think Utah and Indiana would trade Mitchell and Olidipo for Booker - not because Booker isn't better, but because there really is no need. Both are good enough.

The funny thing about some of these fanboys is that they effectively discount scoring as a skill. People like Eddie Johnson constantly point out how difficult it is to be a 20+ scorer in the NBA. It is very hard to be a 25 ppg scorer @ 21 years old when you have only one other player (Warren) that can score. The rest of last year's roster was very poor, most players having only one dimension to their games and not be very adept at that dimension.

Durant is just ridiculous. Good to see Book and Ariza getting it in together, have seen a few vids of them playing together this summer. Hield doing what he was supposed to do coming into the league.

Who's Rico Hines? I've seen a few of these casual scrimmage videos but I still don't know who he is and why NBA players are going to him to play.

Also where's Ayton at??

In an interview with Bill Reiter of CBS Sports on Tuesday, Booker expressed optimism regarding the upcoming campaign.

"It's winning time. With that contract, and even before the contract, I felt that pressure to succeed for the city and the franchise.

They took a chance on me to be that [max] guy, I know it comes with a lot of leadership and responsibility, but I think I'm built for it. I'm looking forward to next year a lot, with the additions to the team, we're in much better shape to have a much better season."

"We're in the best shape we've been in since I've been a part of the franchise. With the trades we've made, and with Deandre.

He had an unbelievable summer league, playing the right way, not forcing it, was still dominating on both sides of the floor. He'll be the down force threat we need to open up space for everybody else."

If this team could get 48 wins:

Then were going for 82 to this season

Look at that! Another GB topic on Devin Booker!

And look! Kevin Knox who hasn't played a game is apparently better than Booker already! I love the GB!

General board is really insufferable.

Every other of thread is "Exactly how amazing is Curry?" or "Could five clones of LeBron James stop one Curry?" or "Why are the Warriors so much better than any human institution in the history of time?"

The general board I see is dominated by posts about how KD pulled a cowardly move and joined a 73-9 team and made the NBA uncompetitive.
