For this summer, Oubre's deal doesn't matter (unless for some reason they inked it before signing others). His cap hold his $9.6 million regardless of what he signs for....and we will sign others first and then sign him to whatever deal we agree to if we agree to one and go over the cap. Of course it would hurt cap space in future summers if the deal is big.

Definitely.

I think the most important reason to get him on a reasonable contract might be trade value, not future cap space.

What happens if Bridges and Oubre both continue to make significant improvements. We might need to trade one of them which will be more difficult if Oubre is overpaid.

On the suns posting that Oubre picture with the shhh tag. It's pretty funny and I'd agree it's probably a good indicator they have agreed to a deal. Now I don't believe it would be really breaking any rules because you are allowed to talk to agents of your own players he just technically can't sign until July.

My guess, 5 yr 65 mil.

What are your thoughts on

Harisson Barnes
Bobby Portis
Frank Kaminsky
Jonas Valanciunas

What do you expect them to sign?

I think Val and Barnes opt into their contracts. Portis probably stays in Washington.

Kaminsky could be a nice under the radar bench target if the contract is modest.

Was going to pretty much say the same, except don't want Kaminsky unless he was somehow dirt cheap, but I'm sure Charlotte will just pay him if he's not that expensive.

If Oubre has a deal in place - to me it means he knows the market. Agents are talking to teams already.

This KD injury will cause so many changes. I bet he ops in to his current contract, rehabs away from the team, and then signs with someone else next year.

The rest is up in the air.

-The Claw probably stays in Toronto (win or lose)
-Kyrie probably goes to Brooklyn and I wouldn't be shocked to see Butler join him.
-I think the Knicks can make a better offer for AD than the Lakers.
-Kemba resigns with the Hornets for the supermax
-Klay resigns with GSW for max
-Cousins resigns with GSW unless a team blows him away with an offer.

Agree
Agree on Kyrie but I see Butler in LA
Maybe - but they should push for AD and max Durant
Agree
Agree - they have too if Durant opts out

I think Demarcus will want more than 6.3 and since lakers or Knicks might be shut out - he will get 36+/3 is my guess. The man has skills

KD - at first I thought he takes player option, but if he gets 4 or 5 year max deal he will likely be very tempted to take that security....not sure though if he will want to stay in GS or not in that case
Kawhi 50/50 TOR/LAC
Kyrie 75/25 Brooklyn/NY, but likely only goes to NY if they get someone else, and maybe same with Brooklyn, so if neither get anyone else, small chance he goes elsewhere...not sure about Lakers but maybe a small chance - I think there is a decent chance Tobias Harris goes to Brooklyn with him...they are targeting PF
AD I don't think Knicks can make a better win now offer than Lakers, but Robinson would give them a great defensive big (however not an ideal pairing with Zion who would work better with a stretch like Brook Lopez)...Boston can make best offer
Kemba and Klay stay
Cousins probably goes elsewhere, especially if KD stays in GS because they can't pay him much..don't even think they can pay him much if KD leaves if they keep other big 3....likely will go where the money is..not sure who would want him though.

KD's injury doesn't change anything. He still will have multiple max offers on the table on July 1st.

As a Padres fan - whatever winter Ohtani was up for posting - he posted a bit the Padres would get Ohtani. He was darn sure too! Another Padres fan on twitter found him - did some research that "Karim" had news on Brian Dozier, Kanley Jannsen and a third Dodger move that all were true so I think a few Padres fan started following Karim. Alas, he missed on Ohtani. He did get Hosmer right to the Padres a couple weeks early if I recall . Missed on Paul George to the Lakers. He was on Harper to the Phillies for a long time - as because I am a Padres fan - it was Machado and Harper so I was interested. He totally missed on Monty Williams.

So he seems better on baseball. But I still follow him. He is no worse than Schultz or Broussard or Kyler.

Don't know about the validity but a 4 team deal supposedly done by the weekend. For those fully erected for Lonzo you will be most pleased.

This does makes sense with the Pelicans saying they want to get something done before the draft. Seems like they'd want to bring in some prospects for workouts. Both the Suns and Bulls have been rumored to have interest in Lonzo. Could it be by virtue of the Suns getting the six pick versus the seventh pick that they land ball over da bulls.

Zo for 6; maybe a PG like Okobo or Melton - granted only a mil bucks but Zo costs more than the 6th pick by about 2.5m

I think #6 for Lonzo is fair value.

Not a big fan of Lonzo, but everyone knows that this draft is not good.

Lonzo Ball can be gold as a pure PG for this team. Probably not...but the potential is there. He can be as good as Rajon Rondo in his prime.

I think butler ends up in Dallas or bkn and kemba in Dallas or Charlotte. I think Knicks would be a team that gives oubre a huge contract because of the KD injury and they won’t get anyone else. This also means no more DLo for the suns now that nets will probably keep him and Kyrie and bring Dinwiddie off the bench.

I was only adding a PG for cap reasons but they are only a million so you are right - the 6 is fair to me.
