Uh what. Milsap is 31 with one year remaining on his deal. That would be a massive risk after an offseason so far of being conservative.

Millsap would be a very Phoenix Suns move.

Draft 2 elite potential PFs, trade picks for an old PF.

Oh, WOW, if we get him, we suddenly ARE a playoff contender. I know most are not as high on him as I am, but he is easily one of the all around best PFs in the league. He can do everything. If we add him, that changes the whole deal.

there is on way it's just picks though. Would have to be a three team deal or somebody else is packaged. Maybe Knight and tucker?

I don't know..now that they have signed Howard and Bazemore I don't know if that puts them over the cap...they may want to be under the tax.

That doesn't make sense AT ALL though. Why sign Howard if you are going to trade away by far your best player?

Milsap is a great player and one of the best PFs in the league, but I don't think it makes sense to unload picks and youth to get him.

Would be a classic "let's compete AND rebuild" Suns move

Oh no. I love Millsap but dont do it, Suns
The deal might be too good to pass up, tho.

Hawks are desperate to create room for Horford.

Milsap is better fit next to Howard than Horford.

Anyone think this could be part of the Hayward recruitment plan next summer?

Bledsoe, Knight, Tucker, Millsap, Chandler
Booker, Dudley, Warren, Bender, Len.

How many wins?

I agree. While he would be the most perfect PF for those guys to learn from (nothing came easy for him..he has worked his ass off and improved every year in the league) I wouldn't sacrifice too many future picks for him. Now if the FO thinks these guys are 2-3 years away, and in all honesty, they are, and they want to compete right now, and think we have enough young guys for the future, I can somewhat see their reasoning, but only if they can keep him after a year. Ideally you have him for a year since you have young guys, but if you are giving up a bunch of picks, it would make sense to have him for a little longer than that...the young guys only benefit from him and competing, etc.

But I think all this is for naught. Just a rumor. It's somewhat intriguing. I'd absolutely hate it if it wasn't Millsap, but he is probably one of my favorite players in the league.

If healthy, above .500 a bit I'd guess.

Doesn't make much sense. He's great and all, but this is the wrong team for him. He opts out next year, he'll be 32 at the start of his next (gigantic) contract, and the rest of the roster isn't all that ready for a serious playoff run.

Going after Hayward and trading for promising, young RFAs makes more sense.

If you start Dudley and Tucker and bring in a bench unit of Ulis, Booker, Warren, Bender and Len that would be great. I know I left Knight out, but I like Ulis' passing skills for that second unit. Or just trade Tucker, Knight or Chandler and you can plug it all accordingly.

I really hope we're not planning on playing Dudley as a PF. We've tried to turn 3's into 4's in the past and it didn't work out so well (Hedo Tukoglu, anyone?)

I love Milsap as a player, he'd make us better immediately. Long term, however, the smart thing to do is to sign Leur to a 3-4 year deal, sit back, and wait for the right moments to deal Chandler / Knight / Tucker / Bledsoe to a contender that's suffered injuries. Honestly, Dudley/ Leur would stretch the floor well for our slashing guards.

Len and Chandler are both terrible defenders these days, BTW. It wouldn't bother me a bit if we dumped both of them and ran a stetch 4/5 at the pivot.

Yeah, if this rumour has any type of truth, McD wont pass up on this deal.
This is too good for us.

I'm actually wanting Millsap now just for the board reaction.
