What's the difference between Melo and Warren at this point?

Just buy Carmelo a nice ring. I don’t get the obsession with super washed players.

One guy can increase the average age of our team.

Yeah I guess Warren is a little better. I'm not the biggest advanced defensive metrics guy but just as a baseline him and Melo are fairly similar in DBPM. Warrens only had one season in his whole career where he graded out above average defensively.

I'm not at all stumping for Melo. My post was saying they seem pretty redundant for this roster.

Also not trying to **** on Warren. I think his ability to get some buckets can be useful for the bench. Just saying D isn't exactly his calling card.

I like the idea of Melo more than the practical reality of having Melo on the team.

He's 6'9 now? I thought he was 6'7 with a 7'0 wingspan. Did he grow more recently?? :o

I thought he was around 6'9 too until I looked up his profile on BRef. Dude is listed at 6-6 but a heavy 242lb 6-6. Not too dissimilar to Ish's size

I thought he had basically been a bust his entire career. Never lived up to anywhere near his potential and has absolutely bounced around.

Warren aint here for defense lol. He's here to be that extra shot creator off the bench we've needed for years.

Someone being "Washed" has been thrown around so much that I no longer believe it any time I see it.

Two years ago I would have laughed at the Melo suggestion but I have to tip my cap to him for finally accepting a role in Portland. I wouldn't have minded him on the bench but frankly I think they have plenty of borderline rotation forwards right now. They don't need more quantity, they need some of these guys to provide quality.

PG, that's where I'd prefer more quantity. Sucks but doesn't look like George Hill is going to be bought out.

The counter argument against signing a PG is basically if Paul or Payne aren't available then Booker will simply play point because they wouldn't trust anyone off the street to play PG in a playoff game anyway. Which that could be the case.

Shoutout to those who survived Michael Beasley, Shannon Brown, and Wesley Johnson before that too.

Chris Haynes said a the end of his podcast with Stein that over Super Bowl weekend he was with "an owner at an event" in Phoenix and that it was "the best party" he's ever been to. He couldn't say who, but I imagine it was Ishbia. If that's the case, I can see a lot more of our rumors getting leaked if Ishbia is tight with some media guys.

Which is funny because Ishbia told us all that he will tell the fans breaking news before the media does (which I didn't quite understand when he said it and I'm not sure he understood what he was saying either)

I also have a renewed respect for Melo after it looked like his career was done and couldn't land a role but rehabbed his image a fair bit with the Blazers. I just don't know if he adds much at this point and yes, I'd rather throw money at PG depth than at Melo
