One last thing,

If you listened to the interview with Brandon Knight last night with Tom and Tom, two things stand out:

1. He did not seem too excited to be here, and even said he was surprised with the trade.

and even bigger...

2. When asked about playing off the ball, he said he was open to it, but "still hoped to play his way too."

Read between the lines. He's PISSED that he won't be playing the point and he's PISSED he was traded off a playoff team.

Can we stop piling the accolades on Dragic. Its either rose-tinted nostalgia and pondering about what could have been or being salty at his admittedly terrible demeanor by saying that he was overrated and not worth anything close to a max. i agree with the latter personally but trying to set emotions aside even though he spurned us publically

Hopefully he doesn't say he wants out in the summer. That wouldn't be too good.

I'm excited about the team and trades. But maybe I should reserve my excitement for now like you say to see how chemistry works and if Knight likes it. He seems like a good smart guy and I think he will like playing for Jeff even though he seems to prefer playing pg. Maybe he will settle for it. There are not too many teams that really need point guards so there might not be a big market for him this summer anyway.

Another good thing about Knight for this team...

That now includes Knight, a player Suns general manager Ryan McDonough lauded for being a “closer,” citing his stats in late-game situations. Knight has scored 85 points in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter or OT when the score is within five points, the seventh-most such points in the league. The Suns could use help in clutch situations as they are just 2-9 in games decided by three points or fewer, the second-worst win percentage in the league in such games.

Not even close. Had nowhere near the distribution skills of Nash.

We are going to regret this trade.

Should have moved Thomas and Plumlee earlier in the year.

A lineup of

Beldsoe/Archie
Dragic/Green
Tucker/Warren
Kieff/Marcus
Len/Wright

With Ennis and the Laker pick + all of our picks as future assets would have been a much better present and future.

Plus whatever we would get for Thomas and Plumlee (late first rounder??)

We got horse ****. Yes. horse ****.

it's not like we had the players we got in the deals either. have to wait and see how the team works with Knight playing before kneejerking

Yeah, had to keep reminding myself that we were essentially 2 rotation players down. Even so, the ball movement looked better.

Who is the second rotation player other than Knight?

If your talking about Thornton, WOW we would just created another log jam if that dude is actually in the rotation.

I love Dragic and I missed him dearly but anyone who compares him to Steve Nash needs a god damn reality check.

Dragic won't ever come close to being on Nash's level.

None of the PGs in the NBA today (other than maybe Steph Curry) will come close to Nash.

Please quit that BS, your being extremely disrespectful to one of the greatest to ever play for this franchise.

Our front office looks bad.

Our insiders have already said that Sarver has gotten a rep for not only being cheap, but also being very one sided during owner/player discussions.

Add in the fact that Frye left with a salty taste in his mouth

Add in the Bledsoe situation from last summer

And now, worse yet, the Dragic situation.

Agents and players cannot think too highly of Sarver/Babby/McDonough right now.

We are going to have to really handle the next few situations well and repair some relationships if we want to be competitive going forward. Otherwise not only are free agents not going to want to sign with us, we also will lose our own players to free agency because they are going to want out.

There is a difference between not letting the players "run things" and playing hard ball to the point where you get a reputation as a place where no one wants to play.

Sarver is not cheap. Biggest misnomer on this board. Well maybe behind closed doors he is cheap but the product on the court, not cheap.

He is fiscally inconsistent. Or his pattern has been fiscally inconsistent. Which is worse than cheap as its not consistent

He's a relatively decent bench scorer. His Per 36 scoring numbers are similar to ITs. He should get some burn, especially since he's not a ball dominant player who will be more than happy to camp in the corner and drain threes.

If it's at the expense of Goodwin/Warren getting minutes.... :noway:

Our priority shouldn't be to find a way to win every game so we can get that #14 pick, our priority should be to develop our youngsters. And if we win in the process, great! If not, great!

LOL

Prime Nash was a top 5 point guard of all time. Funniest post I've ever seen on this board.

People need to realize that even in Dallas, he was already a 2-time all-star and orchestrate the best offense in the NBA for three consecutive years.

That's insane and Dragic probably wont achieve it in his full career.

Just stop this insanity.

I'm gonna be pissed if Marcus Thornton plays at all. Wish they would just buy him out.

I don't think it will be. We sent out 3 rotation players (IT, Dragic and Plumlee) and brought in 2 (Knight and Thornton) meaning that there are likely still some spare minutes left to soak up after the trade, also, Thornton won't play nearly as many minutes as IT (he was averaging 16mpg in Boston), so if you take the difference between IT and Thornton, (9 minutes) and add those to Plumlee's about 10mpg post Brandan Wright, you've got nearly 20 minutes a night left for Goodwin and Warren.

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by Thronton. He might just be the best 3pt shooter on our roster at present.

I watched him a couple of times. He has no defensive skills at all. He can score and get to the rim but that's about it. If either one of those don't work, he's useless.
