How many wins?

If healthy, above .500 a bit I'd guess.

Still likely worse than SA, GS, OKC, LAC, MEM, UTA, POR, after that I have no idea about Houston these days...Minnesota will be much tougher as will Denver, and then I have no idea about Dallas...probably competing for the 8th spot and possibly the 6th.

Yeah, it doesn't really make sense even though I love Millsap.

That's probably why we will end up doing it.

The Dudley signing is real positive for Suns. He will help Bender & Chriss something I'm not sure Mirza would do and he can play the 3 and 4

Suns wanted someone who could start for a year or year 1/2 while Bender & Chriss develop then go to bench - Dudley perfect for that role

‏@SeanSullivanNBA Mirza is all about Mirza. Deadly three-point shooter, but Duds brings chemistry & vet qualities Suns are in need of.

I feel exactly like Sean Sullivan does. Mirza seemed to only want to shoot and sure he was a good guy, but he really seemed to really care about himself. I don't think I remember him passing.

That Paul Millsap trade makes perfect sense. He is only signed for one more year and then has a player option. I am almost positive he will opt-out because the cap goes up again next year. Also, his salary is 20 million dollars. After Dudley signs, the Suns should have about 20 million in cap space available. They can absorb Millsap's contract without sending any contracts back to the Hawks. As many outlets reported, the Hawks are trying to unload salary asap in their effort to re-sign Horford. Also, do not forget, Millsap is a really good player. I would take Millsap for one year over Teletovich for three years any day. If the Suns trade for Millsap, the quality of basketball we will see next year will go up dramatically.

So, with Dudley coming back to the Suns does that mean we basically got Eric Bledsoe for free?

I can get on board with bringing Duds home, especially for what he got relative to guys like Solomon Hill, and I definitely prefer him to Teletovic for the same money. Veteran leadership, loves Phoenix, and he actually moves the ball, unlike Mirza, who was the definition of a blackhole chucker.

If Ryan McDonough is able to get Bender, Chriss, Ulis, Dudley, and then Millsap in the same offseason while only losing some random picks, Bogdanovich, Teletovich, and possibly Leuer, that would be amazing.

Ugh, Id hate to see this happen. Why trade away 1st round picks for a 31 year old player who will hurt our draft position next year.
Makes no sense to me.

Len shot 39% in March and 31% in April.

Not sure I want to pay him 20m+.

It's hard to imagine the Suns ponying up $25mil/yr to a 32yo Millsap next season so I'm not sure it makes tons of sense to be giving up major assets.

Love me some Millsap tho, dude's a gamer

Are they trying to keep Horford after signing Howard? I guess if they fear Millsap will leave in a year it could make sense. The only way they trade Millsap though is if they get an agreement from Horford. That's an awfully old frontcourt though.

So you can keep your job as the GM of the Phoenix Suns under Robert Sarver.

Same thing for me. Its a shame especially now when McD has been nailing every single move thus far this offseason. Tank one more year to get a shot at Jackson/Giles/Tatum/Fultz, then we ramp up the effort at free agency. For now, i hope were done.

If you heard about the Suns and McDonough making a move, it's probably not gonna happen

I feel like though if we do spend big on a veteren and don't make playoffs, that's worse for McDonough than right now.

But does it get you anything other than the 13th pick in the draft instead of a higher lotto pick in a year that's supposed to be filled with strong prospects?

I'd take Milsap for free I guess but the reporter said Milsap for PICKS, which doesn't make any sense for where this franchise is at right now

All comes down to fan philosophy, some want to be as good as possible now, some want to be as good as possible in a few years.

Return to Phoenix Suns
