Totally absurd notion for sure! And not sure why in hell the Celtics GM comes to Smith for anything at all!!! But I'll play along. A PLAYER OF MY CHOOSING HUH?...LOL.....................

Jones has been very solid. But I'll take Brad Stevens and one slightly used JAYSON TATUM!!!

This is kind of ridiculous, but anyway, the player would be a player going from the Suns. They can take Payton, though maybe Shamet makes more sense given his salary (but since I don't pay the tax, Payton, unless Shamet keeps us from signing a difference maker or having to match an offer for Ayton that allows him to be an UFA in 3 years when he'd be way more expensive).

My bad in reading that wrong!!

In that case, Definite pass! Pretty bad for us!

So basically 6 days with 2 negative tests. Theoretically Crowder and Ayton can be back sometime next week? Probably in time for the Pels or Paper Clips game?

I was thinking Crowder could possibly be back Sunday and maybe Ayton, though Ayton may have to wait until Tuesday. Though they begin the road trip Friday in Boston so I guess they couldn't go with them then, so if they were to play in either of the next two they'd have to fly up individually later.

I don’t get it. So CDC says after 5 days of quarantine then people can return to work. But the NBA is saying 6 days is required for its players?

Are they basically saying they don’t trust the CDC or that they know more than the CDC?

In this, I'm more interested in the trade exceptions that teams can utilize to not take salary back in a trade and especially also the partially and non guaranteed contracts that we should maybe consider:

TRADE EXEMPTIONS

- Orlando Magic: $17.2 million (Evan Fournier).

- Celtics: $17.1 million (also Fournier).

- New Orleans Pelicans: $17.1 million (Steven Adams).

- Thunder: $11.3 million (Ariza).

- Brooklyn Nets: $11.5 million (Spencer Dinwiddie).

- Dallas Mavericks: $10.9 million (Josh Richardson).

- Celtics: $9.7 million (Tristan Thompson).

- Thunder: $9.6 million (George Hill).

Los Angeles Clippers: $8.3 million (Rajon Rondo).

PARTIALLY AND NON GUARANTEED CONTRACTS

Horford: $26.5 million, $14.5 million guaranteed.

- Gallinari: $21.5 million, $5 million guaranteed.

- Eric Bledsoe (Clippers): $19.4 million, $3.9 million guaranteed.

- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Washington Wizards): $14 million, $4.9 million guaranteed.

- Josh Hart (New Orleans Pelicans): $13 million, non-guaranteed.

- Kelly Oubre Jr. (Charlotte Hornets): $12.6 million, $5 million guaranteed.

- Danny Green (Philadelphia 76ers): $10 million, non-guaranteed.

- Maxi Kleber (Dallas Mavericks): $9.2 million, non-guaranteed.

- Mason Plumlee (Hornets): $9.1 million, $4.3 million guaranteed.

- Ivica Zubac (Clippers): $7.5 million (team option).

- Zach Collins (San Antonio Spurs): $7.4 million, $3.7 million guaranteed.

- DJ Augustin (Houston Rockets): $7.3 million, $333,333 guaranteed.

- Juancho Hernangomez (Celtics): $7.5 million, non-guaranteed.

Hamidou Diallo (Pistons): $5.2 million (team option).

Taj Gibson (New York Knicks): $5.2 million, non-guaranteed.

- Ish Smith (Hornets): $4.7 million, non-guaranteed.

Now I'm not exactly sure who we should be looking at primarily. Any thoughts on guys and potential packages guys??

I don't agree on the whole center narrative unless he Bulks up another 25 - 30 pounds. I really wish they'd put him on the Giannis diet and training regimen! Remember how Giannis looks when he first entered the league. And now he's a freakin' beast! :o

Now I'm not implying that he can become another Giannis. But if he really Bulls up muscularly, I think he can become a smaller version of Kevin Willis perhaps?

Even better if you don't screw yourself and his trade value by not picking him up for next year... What a good decision.

Brutal. He’s probably one of the most easy to root for guys in this league. That Cavs team was looking good too and he was a major part of it. Absolutely sucks all the way around.

Yeah, easily one of my favourites. His personality is just right up there. The article about his mom was also very touching.
And on the court, he is just such a master of orchestrating a team. Cleveland was my sleeper team becouse of him - I was kinda right too. I figured Garland would be better, and thought Ricky and him will be a better back court, and Allen would be good for them - I also thought that Mobley would be good, just not this good.

Not sure how he is gonna make it back... It's at least a 1 year injury, especially if you are on the wrong side of 30 and already had the same thing... His contract is up soon too - maybe a vet min type deal if he feels like it afterwards? I'd hate to see him go out like this.

Spurs are going to regret not taking Smith for Young, he's always been a Center and if you take away his enforced 3 point shooting he's doing everything you would want. Maybe if we're aiming higher it could turn out to our benefit.

Haha... they will be able to snag him next yr if they want as we will be mighty tight with the purse strings. I think the Spurs apprehension was/is with Phnx trying to sluff off Dario in the deal.

Looks like the best move this year is no move. This has been very beneficial for Smith, snagging injury and COVID minutes. May be it translates into some regular full strength roster appearances. Should not have to remind anyone we were playing the Shank and are currently force feeding us the Sham. Dare I say Smith might end up being an upgrade over both? Our roster is versatile enough to shift the minutes around.
What ? Me Worry ?
