Or Miami with Adebayo and Herro? But then Miami might need help in a 3 team deal to escalate value enough to satisfy the Bucks interests too!

The league won’t allow Cooper Flagg to play in Washington or Charlotte. Im certain his next destination will be in Utah. In 2-3 years the Jazz will be a serious playoff team with Markanan, Flagg, Sexton, etc.

True! But then no team was really going to overpay for KD under the current conditions he's carrying. Still all those teams that have worked towards a big signing in Giannis, but miss out may choose to pivot to a consolation big name option in KD.

Or worst case scenario, if Morant gets traded, or the Celtics blow it up due to new ownership and 2nd apron issues. But even then, KD still represents two value options for teams, first us the value that for teams that came close to their goals but fell short, KD might be enticing as the needle mover that'd put them over.

And 2nd, for those teams wanting to remain faux competitive but really are targeting cap flexibility towards these next two free agency summers, KD still represents a massive 54 million expiring! ( also to a team like Boston) in a 3 team deal that could help them shed multi year 2nd apron cap commitments.

Or other teams just looking to pivot away from the 2nd apron, or even a team like OKC would actually be a perfect scenario for KD ( ** IF they fall short) as they could just run it back with more firepower next season, and then let KD expire, giving them more cap flexibility to accommodate their key core extensions and other contract increase signings rather than geing forced to boow up their core due to cost!

Dumping Hartenstein/ Caruso/ fillers/ picks on us for example is mutually ideal for both teams.

But getting the best overall package for KD is still possible given the reality that we weren't really close to contending and in that we now need so many various things. We should be able to recoup a fair amount of those needs just do to salary matching and other considerations. As long as our front office doesn't completely screw things up massively this summer?

I think the Suns will get good value for Durant. I just don't think it will be the Rockets where they get good young talent and multiple FRPs. MOre likely a large expiring, a younger player that is probably the potential to start and a FRP

Bring in a veteran Leader like FVV in a KD trade, or

Here is my idea from the above with Garland.

Garland, Jabari Smith Jr, Whitmore to Phoenix
Reed Shepard, Dillon Brooks, and 1st to Cleveland
KD to Houston

Suns ride

Garland / Use PG in Draft
Booker / Allen / Gillespie
Whitmore / O'Neale
Jabari Smith Jr / Dunn
Richards / OSO

Then trade Beal for what you can get.

Booker is only loyal to the Suns money, not the Suns !

Also Bookers salary handicaps this team to improve. He’s being paid as an Alpha 1 player when the reality is he’s a Beta #2/3.

I should have been clearer - it can be the Rockets - just not the treasure trove of like Smith, Green, Eason and all three of the Suns FRPs back

My trade with the Rockets is FVV, Jabari Smith and one of the Suns 2027 or 2029 FRPs back

Have a tough time seeing Miami being in the running for Giannis unless he wants to go there. You're right that they'll need a 3 team trade to make it worth it for the Bucks but I also think Bam/Herro/Giannis doesn't really make a very compelling trio imo.

Won't be at all surprised to have the Mavs jump to the top pick ( #1) as compensation for the Doncic to LA trade. then have Philly end up at #2, and San antonio at # 3 ( to help the Spurs outbid the Rockets or OKC for Giannis)??

Yep! There scripting is getting so lazy and bad these days that it might as well be the WWE writers writing the scripts for them. The Spurs getting the 2nd pick though despite being not at all surprising, is at least good in that they can now at least outbid the Rockets for Giannis. But of course that now helps set up a potential Lakers and Spurs dynasty for the next decade.

Funny how that happens for the league's two favorite franchises huh?........lol # rigged always!!

I am actually happy for Mavs fans right now. Even if it makes their stupid GM look good. Spurs can use that #2 pick now in a Giannis trade.
