I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by Thronton. He might just be the best 3pt shooter on our roster at present.

I watched him a couple of times. He has no defensive skills at all. He can score and get to the rim but that's about it. If either one of those don't work, he's useless.

So we added another Gerald Green for 2 months and got a free draft pick. #CoolWithIt

Thornton has pratically the same height than Knight (6'3".75" vs 6'3".25)

If we hadn't **** this whole thing up and traded Thomas earlier, we might have Dragic at 70m/5 years like Bledsoe.

Man, your takes or so salty and you assume SOOOOO much. I'm sorry you're in such a dark place. I too wish we would have held on to the Lakers pick but it isn't the end of the world. Once we use that cap space this Summer on a young up & coming player (as has been McDonough's m.o.) the roster will look a lot better. A lot. Whether that is Harris or Butler or Draymond we are going to be a lot better. One thing you know that isn't true is Dragic signing here for 5/70. A number of teams were going to outbid us for that. If he winds up taking that deal from Miami I'll be here on the board kissing your ass but I think that's a ludicrous suggestion. So say we pay him what he wants, we've essentially locked ourselves into that roster. Bled-Dragic-Tucker-Kieff-Len.... we already saw where that was taking us and that is competing for the 8th seed and hoping that Lakers pick turns into a stud in a few years. That doesn't seem like a better alternative to me.

TL:DR - losing lakers pick sucks, having cap room doesn't suck, it depends on who we sign this Summer, potential to be a lot better

Goodwin played really well in that position last night. He'll get the scrap minutes there for the rest of the year I think. I can't believe he still has that little hitch at the top of his jumper though.

The more I think about it, the flexibility we'll have this summer is the big win from this trade. It's basically adding Knight, a slew of picks and 1 or 2 high level FA's this summer. Not bad.

Yeah, I'm not understanding the hate for Thornton--he's a better "Gerald Green", from what I can see. So that's not necessarily a bad thing.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... 4=&p5=&p6=

Very similar per36 stats, except Green has a better 2Pt%, while Thornton, a better 3Pt%--in fact, sadly, his 3Pt% is higher than his 2Pt%. If he plays 10-15 minutes a night, I don't see that being a bad thing.

I'd rather have a Knight/Thornton duo than a Dragic/IT duo--at least THIS season's Dragic/IT duo. And Oh, BTW, for about $3M less, and Thornton's a UFA, where IT had 3 more years, and Knight's likely to sign for $5-7M less than Dragic this off-season.

So, yeah, going on a bit of a tangent, but yeah, Thornton for 10-15 minutes a game is better than IT for 25 minutes a game.

I really wonder if all this was a ploy from Goran's agent to take him to a big market so that he can become more famous in the process and get more clients.

Yeah, I think there was something strange going on involving Rade Filipovich (not Duffy) that we will unfortunately probably never know.
totally agree. This whole **** show the last week seemed really odd. Currious to know what really went down.

I realize agents are talking to teams all the time behind the scenes but where's the line of tampering in today's NBA? Seems weird everyone is just cool witb teams throwing around contract numbers they plan on making to upcoming free agents. I'd bet the dragic situation took a turn once he found out teams were planning in giving him 20 mil per.

Looks like all 3 of us were right

Dragic's departure

The Suns believe something happened or someone got to Dragic over the break. There was a feeling Dragic would be content if the Suns traded Isaiah Thomas. When Dragic returned, he said he wanted out regardless on Tuesday.

"Up until three days before everybody left for All-Star break, he was fine if certain things happened," Hornacek said, not mentioning a Thomas trade. "It was shocking to all of us with him saying it doesn't matter. He's not signing back."

I think its two things. He is really ugly, and he is unnecessary. First is a joke, sort of, and the second is a real gripe. How is Thornton going to get minutes with Archie, Gerald, and Bullock already on the roster.

Because he's better than 2 of them?

What do we do with our old Tragic jerseys? I wish the Suns would let us trade them in for a Knight one.

Yeah it sucks. It took me so long to get one over here in Australia we don't have any Suns jerseys anywhere we just have the big name players! I finally get it and he's gone. Nba store is crap for Suns jersys as well.

Knight. I think we will always have one of Knight or Bledsoe on the court. Knight is good enough as a pg to be backup.

Their souvenirs. I still have an Amare jersey. If I bought another one it would probably be a vintage KJ jersey.

Yeah, their frontcourt is decimated, and Bosh was/is the perfect player for that kind of game. No range now with him and McBob out.
