As is people's faith to hand over the keys to a kid who's been a career backup with knee problems and let a 3rd team all nba guy walk out the door. I like Bledsoe and Dragic, but it's pretty clear who the better and more reliable player is.
I think Dragic is better, but labeling Bledsoe a career backup because he spent his first 3 years playing with the BEST PG In the nba is misleading. He also played very well as a backup and was almost universally considered a prime breakout candidate when he got his chance. He played very well as a starter and that was no surprise to almost anyone. I think it's safe to say Bledsoe has proven he can be a good starter in this league. Can he stay healthy? Does he have another level he can reach? Those are the questions to ask. If you think both are yes, then with his youth, he's probably more valuable than Dragic.
I agree with everything you said except the last half of your last sentence. Something like that is a VERY tough call. Only a handful of players reach certain levels in this league. Dragic took major strides this year, as did Bledsoe. Can Bledsoe get there and stay healthy? I hope so, but I wouldn't just deal Dragic because we think he might.
The thing is, I could have gone either way with Dragic most of the season, but he just seemed to start taking his game to new levels week after week. I don't even think I'm among Dragic's most avid fans. It's not like I post pictures of him on twitter and stuff like some. I'm just looking at it how it is.
And I know this is getting annoying for some, and it's a bit pointless at this point in time, because there are no real indications that we are trading anyone. And I don't think we should yet.
