Not sure I want to pay him 20m+.

Lets see what he shoots this year. If you notice most of his points were from posting up.I wonder what it would like if he were getting spoon fed dunks and alley oops from Bledsoe all season. Chandler had a higher shooting percentage, but who is the better shooter?

Its called putting a player in a position of strength not weakness. Just turned 23.

I hope Chandler is gone before the beginning of the year.

I think Chandler is a better offensive player, because Chandler is a much better finisher and roll man. Len might have more range, but he has done nothing to show he is proficient at shooting mid range jumpers. His touch around the rim is awful for a big man too and his hands are so bad I don't think he'd be able to even catch a lob if Bledsoe were to target him.

Making Len our highest paid player is the scariest prospect that's facing us in the near future in my opinion. I'd either extend him for around $12m, and if he says no, give him half the year next-season and re-asses. If he still hasn't show improvement, I'd move him ASAP. I much more excited about Chriss or Bender's potential to play spurts of the 5 than I am about Len developing into an NBA caliber starter.

Cool, but I disagree.

YouTube highlights mean he's worth a truckload of money huh? Well Mitch Kupchak just got exposed as a Suns' poster.

The Suns are in need of a player like that on the court and off the court. If the Suns trade for him, I expect them to seriously compete for a playoff seed. Look at what the starting lineup could be:

Bledsoe, Booker, Dudley, Millsap, Chandler

Bledsoe would have three guys to kick it out to on the perimeter that can drain threes. Millsap and Chandler could form an excellent defensive frontcourt. Then off the bench with Len, Warren, Tucker, the new draft picks, and whichever guards they have can form a deep bench. Two playoff teams, the Mavericks and Rockets have both lost out on their top free agent targets so far and lost some of their most important players. The West is not as good as it was a couple of years ago. Imo, the Suns would be in the mix for a playoff seed with that team.

Is it worth giving up picks for a 1 year rental just for a shot at the playoffs? I dont think so.

McDonough is not the type of guy to trade good picks for a 31 year old player that is potentially a one year rental. There is no doubt in my mind if the Suns do this trade, it will not be for quality picks. Most likely lottery protected picks if I had to guess. Who knows, maybe it could be a three team trade where the Suns trade Knight and/or Tucker to one team like the 76ers, the Hawks trade Millsap to the Suns, and the 76ers trade picks to the Hawks. I know I would love to trade Knight and Tucker for Millsap. That would be awesome.

I don't get the desperation to make 8th seed, but alot of fans and FO like to compete every year.

I'm cool with passing on Milsap. It would be great to have him on this team and it will definitely make us competitive but it'll merely be a fan-service motivated move that it is only to keep us happy for a year while potentially hindering our roster development by a few years. I trust McD to make the right choice.

Thus far into free agency, I have very little doubt that we will be a bottom 3 team in the West competing with the likes of the Lakers and the Kings, which I'm content with. I thought Memphis might fall next year, but they solidified themselves bringing in Parsons and re-signing Conley. The Timberwolves should only get better this year with more experience for Wiggins, Towns, and Lavine, the Jazz should get better this year after adding George Hill and Joe Johnson, the Pelicans should be back in playoff contention if they aren't decimated by injury again, the Nuggets will probably be another team we're competing with at the bottom, the Mavericks will never be completely terrible with Carlisle and Nowitzki still around, and the Rockets will probably be fighting for the 6 to 8 seed again this year.

Going to be watching a lot of Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and UCLA next year. Gotta keep my eye on Markelle Fultz too. Excited that we'll probably have a top 8 pick in what looks to be a stacked class.

I shutter thinking about what kind of silly ass package it would be for milsap. I can't imaging he would come cheap because I think Boston would have interest and they have a bunch of assets they can trade. He make a ton more sense for them than the suns.

I don't really buy that rumor. The Suns can't be that dumb right? Especially since at this point in his career Dudley is pretty much only a stretch 4.

Millsap will be 32 when he hits FA he's a player that is very successful in large part to his explosiveness. Not saying he won't be effective in 2-3 years as he's a skilled player but they're not trading valuable assets for him without the intent on re-signing him next summer. They'd have his bird rights and the ability to offer him more than anyone. In 3 years when he has 3 years left on his deal are we cool with him being halfway thru a $160m contract as a role player?

This board's reaction would almost be worth it.

The only thing that would really piss me off is if we traded away our own first for next year, ESPECIALLY if it didn't have protection. It would have to be at least top 5 protected and preferably top 8 or more. You just can't trade away unprotected picks for aging players...people should have learned that from Brooklyn. Unfortunately McD hasn't gotten extended.

We refused to trade pick 27 for Pau Gasol in season 1 and we were a better team then.

I disagree, we were a much less talented team. We started Miles Plumlee and Gerald Green and we didn't have young talent like Warren or Booker.

We missed the playoffs for the last 6 years. Not everyone is excited about a 15-year rebuild. You have to start somewhere. No one goes from a bottom dweller to a contender in a day.

So you'd pay Hayward 190mil over 80 on Barnes? Hayward doesn't carry a team into the playoffs. 190mil is devastating

It depends on whether or not you like a player or think he is good. If we signed Barnes and he sucked, I don't want to come here in a couple of years when Hayward is balling and see "well, Barnes contract isn't THAT bad when you look at Hayward's".

It's like spending twice as much money on a computer that works very well, over one that gives you problems all the time.

I won't deny that I'm a fan of Hayward game but that much money no.... I feel like memphis made a horrible deal that can't be justified. If another team payed Hayward that it's in the same bout.

Hell of a player yes but someone who is a difference maker no.. And it's beyond a overkill of saying "overpaid" it reached ridicilous status unless he's a bonafied superstar who can take you to finals
