That'd be a huge get for them honestly if they're losing Barnes anyways.

I wish Pels would bite on Valanciunas for Ayton...

Suns need a real center who can body people, not the other way around.

I can't see it.

That lineup would be OK for some minutes here and there but the spacing on offense and the perimeter defense wouldn't be good enough IMO.

Ayton is definitely a C. He has lost some lbs and hopefully that improves his agility and motor.

My question is whether the coaching staff thought DA would benefit from getting slimmer, or if it's the direction he went on his own. I'd be surprised if they told him to slim down, but what do I know? Personally, I would have been much more excited to see him bulk up.

I guess since you can't just "add ass" it wouldn't have mattered much. If less weight gets him in the air and running the court more often, it'll have been a good thing.

I'm glad he slimmed down. It's likely in part due to some endurance training and cardio and it should improve his stamina, which should improve him being able to stay on the court longer because he won't be winded (which is sometimes interpreted as "lazy"), can run faster, jump higher, be more active guarding on perimeter, and just move quicker, and maybe the most important thing to many, DUNK more!

If it means he can get back his lateral quickness and be able to rotate faster while not getting gassed out, that would be great

Ayton looks in great shape. Sharper handle and the arc on his 3-ball looks better too.

I wonder if one of the plans to keep him more engaged on offense is to finally give him the green light to shoot threes?

The Timeline guys were saying that with Paul gone, we likely see a reduction in high pick & roll, and more actions where Ayton is in the dunker spot. That can easily be tweaked to have Ayton in the corners as well, and shooting threes.

Tbh, Ayton will probably be a better 3- point shooter than Okogie, so that will really open the floor for Book, KD and Beal.

Yeah, I agree.

I think he is gonna have plenty of opportunities to make a nice impact on both sides.

We need every weapon available to win our first championship and he is a TERRIFIC 3th (when resting/missing one star) or 4th option (everyone available) on offense.
