So Ishbia is going to send out a FRP and Nurkic - -wonder what terrible contract he brings back

Patrick Williams from the Bulls perhaps? If thats the case - the Bulls should be sending a pick back

Fully agree that we should/ MUST be getting a pick back in such a deal for the money we'd be eating for them. And even though I'm fairly skeptical we could get back a 1st, I'd still be ok with the SAC 25' 2nd (46th pick).

Gonna need an FRP to do it though, and he’s all yours.

Or maybe he stops playing like a scrub.

Guy is trash, and shouldn't be a starter. If he can be a man and accept his role to better the team. He would be happy coming off the bench

Pretty sure he has accepted his role

Don't blame him for not waiving the NTC - blame Ishbia for not getting that out of the contract moving forward

Did I miss something - in what rumor does it suggest Phoenix wants Ayton back?

Barry Jackson (Miami Herald):
We are told Heat has begun showing willingness to at least consider taking money past 2025-26 if it's not an outrageous contract. You could make a case that Wiggins at 30 M in expiring is not blatantly bad money. Preference remains assuming shorter deals

Maybe there could actually be something to this? But without Beal, How could we accomplish this though? Because we can't aggregate salaries. It would have to be a bigger trade with Nurkic and Allen going to two separate teams, and some combination of assets then going to Portland for the equitable salary exchange. Could we convince Ayton to be fully engaged though for at least next season? Because if so, then it'd be huge! Would he ball out to try and secure a good payday in unrestricted free agency? Or would he brood over coming back to the team that didn't want him or value him? A fairly reasonable risk without having any real long term commitment?? :dontknow:

No rumor I have heard; just knocking over the ant hill for kicks; curious about PHX interest in a DA reunion tour.

My gut feeling is that the Heat will be okay trading Butler for Beal. They'll feel like they won the trade when the Suns give up two of those 1sts round picks. The plan for the Heat is to go after major free agents in 2026, which is when Beal's current contract expires (well he has a player option). Luka also has a player option in 2026. Herro is playing PG with Rozier coming off the bench, and they got Duncan Robinson and Highsmith at the 2 and 3 spot. Beal could slot in perfectly to play SG and is actually a more ideal fit for them.

Some rumors of Paul George swap for Jimmy completely detracts what the Heat plan on doing IMO, plus his contract is actually worse than Beal's IMO because of the length and PG's age.

I do think some back and forth of Beal and Butler will happen between the front office's where the Suns FO can mention how the team has been playing well lately, but will ultimately settle for trading a pick (or two or three) to get Butler.

None logically!
It'd just be another example of taking a minimal risk flyer at a position of need while at best getting a 1 yr rental upgrade to be more competitive if he would be engaged with something to prove. And at worst, acquiring his $34 million expiring to use later as an asset. I wouldn't give up any draft assets for him currently considering our situation and his lack of engagement on the court! BUT might reconsider one 1st IF Camara was coming back to us in a deal. Ultimately a moot point though because absent of a Beal trade there, It'd take at last Nurkic and Allen to get it done! And obviously, we can't aggregate contracts in any trade.

The only other recourse would be to send out both in separate deals to teams along with a pick and then have one of those teams send Portland equitable salary and Ayton/ Camara back to us. And honestly, if I were sending out that much salary in a trade, I'd probably just rather be getting back a package of Grant/ Camara/ Reath or Walker instead!

** I would ask Beal how he'd feel about Golden State. And try and explore a team deal with the Warriors as they desperately need another scorer to help Curry, could have interest too?? And Portland could get their expiring and a 1st or two (two IF we get Camara and Timelord coming back) in the deal.

You are going to have to attach picks to take on Ayton. No one is trying to pay 35 mil a year for a replacement level center. His best value is as an expiring contract next year. We are getting the same production from Nick Richards at 5 million a year.

Not without Camara coming back in the deal! Otherwise, we can both just enjoy our very disappointing centers for another season or two.

Cool.

We will just keep him until the contract PHX gave him expires.

Not sure I'm buying this line of BS at all considering the fact that Ishbia himself was quoted as saying he'd use all three 1sts if necessary to get the Butler trade completed!!
