Re: Around the NBA including other Playoff Series
So the Mavs and Heat are going to heavily pursue Kawhi Leonard. I hope he goes to the Heat in that case. That hurts the Clips as a rival and I want no business of Doncic + Kawhi. I don't see anyone beating that if they are healthy.
Just like I didn't see anyone beating the Clips with Kawhi. But Doncic and Kawhi is scary, especially since that Mavs team without a particularly good supporting cast with Doncic nearly took out the Clips with Kawhi, something I'm not sure we would have done, though we also would have looked a lot better in the series if Paul, Payne and Cam were there or not rusty the whole time.

Re: Around the NBA including other Playoff Series
If Kawhi leaves the Clippers are in big trouble as they gave up all their future picks. I doubt he goes though.

Mann will turn into a mini Kawhi and lead the clippers to their first championship. The writings on the wall. PG not winning finals MVP will prompt him to ask for a trade. The end.

That looks a nice offer for Simmons IMO.
Brogdon looks a really nice fit (on paper) next to Seth, Harris and Embiid.

Yup, but it doesn't work in the trade machine, and it's a bit too little for the Sixers - which I understand. However, if you add J.Holiday (and maybe the 13th pick too) that could be a good trade for both.

Re: Around the NBA including other Playoff Series
I think it's extremely unlikely that Kawhi chooses Dallas and Luka
1. Dude is set in California, all of his family is there, has spent almost his entire career away in Texas and Toronto?
2. While he might respect Luka's game (way more than George lol) there's a real bias against international players. Americans ballers aren't down with eastern Europeans at least when it comes to going to war/the playoffs and congratulating each others' accolades, careers etc. Wade and Lebron had zero respect for Dirk until he smoked them in 2011, Jokic's MVP was hardly talked about, Giannis isn't really close to the top players, either.
3. Organization is a mess, which might help because Kawhi and Uncle Dennis could see a power vacuum? But otherwise, it's not good. Kawhi comes from the Spurs/Raptors, too excellent orgs.
4. Anyone who knows what's up knows Mark Cuban isn't actually a good owner.
5. They still got their own Pandemic P, will have to trade picks or good players to haul his huge contract off.

Yeah, I was thinking the same, but they will have a big hole to fill and throw a lot of money at someone and be a desirable location in LA and having showed they still can compete without Kawhi. Especially if they lose Jackson, a guy like Lowry would be big for them. But there are not too many other big names unless they liked Dipo who would likely be available if Kawhi lands in Miami.
Lowry/Dipo/George/Morris/Serge not bad with Mann, Batum and Zubac off the bench, among others.

Miami seems to be a good place for guys who have had problems on other teams like Butler. Kawhi/Butler/Bam would be interesting with guys like Herro and Nunn. That would be a tough team with a real chance against Brooklyn who will have a hard time staying healthy.

Forgot the Bucks have dreaded Pat Connaughton on their team.

Trae shouldn't have played. He hurt the team.

Trae Young doing those shimmy dance when shooting 3s look really lame and bad now... since he's the reason they lost... real bad game for him, shot poorly and hurt the team.

Dallas with Kawhi would not be a good situation. I think they would work well together
Kawhi can go to the Heat
I think he stays with the Clippers. He is from SoCal. Ballmer can load up the truck. Clippers do need a PG> Lowry would be a solid fit if Kawhi left.

Re: Around the NBA
Can someone message the General NBA board about Lebron yelling at the PA Announcer and say from me.
It is cute Lebron is anti-police but has members of the police working OT to protect his family at these games! What a chump
Thank you

Anyone heard this?
Not that surprising but it is odd that he reveals so much.
Yeah it was a really good listen. Great insights too.
I have to say, Durant seems to just do college athlete crap while being a 7ft multi-millionaire and one of the best basketball player of all time. Dude just smokes a ton of weed, hangs out, responds to hate on Twitter, no GF and just hoops. You'd think for someone with an MVP, two titles, multiple time all-NBA/all-star and oh being one of the best and most accomplished players of all time would have some lavish exciting life but it's pretty mundane like a regular dude working a 9-5.
More generally, it was pretty surprising to hear when Matt said that most players are just lonely on the road and misses their family. Seems normal AF. You'd think these millionaires would just be partying it up but not everyone is James Harden
I loved the listen and yeah, super surprised he revealed so much and go sign off from players.

Re: Around the NBA
There is a piece in the Athletic about the TWolves pursuing Simmons.
If you were them, would you trade Edwards for Simmons?
I know this isn't possible because of salary matching.
I also know read they view Russell as a core piece they keep (even though their salaries would be fairly close in a swap).
But they also talk about Edwards still being there after a trade, so that doesn't make sense.
Obviously you trade Russell for Simmons if Towns is ok with that.
Can Simmons and Edwards co exist? Edwards isn't know as a shooter and is more of a driver, but I think he did improve his shooting.
Russell may fit better with Simmons, at least for now, but obviously Ant has more upside.
If you are the Sixers you probably want more than Russell, but would they be better with Russell?
Obviously Simmons with Towns is kind of the perfect match so this would be interesting.
