Where are all the people who want Rondo? Dude got 2 delay of game technicals for refusing to take the ball from the referee on back to back out of bounds plays. What a jackass.

Yep, I'd take a flyer on Rubio before him. And I'm not a huge fan of his, but his defense and passing would be a welcome addition to our young team in the next cpl years. Maybe as a stopgap until we get back to relevancy?

I discussed him a while back, but I don't remember saying I "want" him. There was a rumor about him to PHX, and the discussion unfolded. I merely said his stats weren't bad this season.

I am incredulous. Rubio is no where near the player that Kyrie is.

Suns may also send Was and/or Cle pick to one of the teams.
I would trade for him and build the team around him like GS has around Curry. I would expect him to be a lead guard, not just a pg. He is a star player who can get his points any time he wants and can include others in his game. Its funny. We know we need a star, but now we are really picky about which star we get. Yes, Cleveland was not good when Kyrie was the lead player, but remember that he is only 23. He was being asked to carry an NBA team at 19 and 20 years old.

I hope we pick up Bennett and get him signed for two-three years (at the minimum with unguaranteed year) to give us the opportunity to cash in on some upside if we develop him. This Mirza deal has me a little sour right now. He has done great and everything we asked, but we also just doubled his payday.

If you don't think McD helped create a bad situation by having 3 starting caliber point guards, I think you are fooling yourself. Do you really think McD hasn't made any mistakes, NavLDO? His communication skills have been terrible with players. No one seems to leave here with great things to say about the FO.
Sure, Dragic didn't handle it well for a moment when he came out publicly, but he's not a SF. Clearly one should be able to figure that playing out of position had something to do with him not playing as well.
In his last 5 Miami games, his lines are about 20, 7 and 5.5, which is pretty good.
I'm not saying I wish we would have kept him, but I can understand the frustration.
I feel like I read this same argument every few days. Lets please all try and move on from Dragic.
OMG, I've stated, over, and over, and over again, in various posts, that McD is FAR from perfect, and has made plenty of mistakes. That's not what that rant was about, at all. I'm not sure why posters 'read into' meaning of a post, rather than 'read the post' and take it for what it's worth.
I can't say it any more clearly than I have again and again: McD is NOT perfect, McD HAS made mistakes, but at the end of the day, he gets blamed for things that aren't his fault WAY too often on this forum, and give players like Dragic a pass WAY too often as well.

If the Cavs decide to blow it up this summer, my guess is we'll target Love. If the Cavs want Melo, I could see us being the third team. Hopefully we have some options with our #12 pick, because at this point, I'm highly skeptical we use it unless we have to.

Not sure why you'd think I was referring to you. There are plenty of people on here who want/have wanted Rondo. It pops up all the time.

Sorry, you were vague with your calling out of fans. Since we had a back and forth regarding Rondo, it didn't seem a stretch to think I may be one you were calling out.

Yup, he is not anywhere Kyrie's caliber. But we were talking about Rondo wehn I commented that.

As for Kyrie/Rubio: he would not derail our plans of "buliding through the draft, the right way", while giving our other youngsters a better chance to develop offensively - spoonfeeding them with assist, not being a ballstopper, being a good defender and teammate.
But I'm not really keen on either for this team for other reasons. Just my opinion (a rather indifferent one to be honest).

Re: Trade Discussion
I think we're better off sticking with Bledsoe and looking to the draft for his successor. If a great deal comes our way, that may change things, but if we're doing a deal, we're doing it for a PF, not a PG.

I think he's referring to the fact that it's a one year deal. So he'll make a ton this offseason, likely pricing himself out of Phoenix.

Mirza's too old to be a part of the future of this team. I guess retrospectively we'd rather have a 2 year deal, as we probably would've gotten a trade offer for him in that case, but odds are he wanted a 1 year deal. Mirza's stock was at an all-time low. He likely wanted to prove his health was in the past and that he could still be a good role player in this league, and then sign a long-term deal at his true value next year. His agent knows the cap is rising, and that role players have been signing 8 figure deals for 2 offseasons now. I doubt his agent would have allowed him to sign a 2 year deal or longer at anything less than $7-8 million. Guys aren't looking to jump into long-term contracts the offseason during their lowest value.

I think if we can sign Mirza to a 3-year deal at around $8m per, we should - not because he fits in with the team (he doesn't) but because sharp-shooting bigs are the new hotness, and we could likely trade him in a year for a solid return.
For those same reasons, it wouldn't surprise me if someone offers him a 4-year $35m-ish contract. It's the new NBA.

If the talk that Ryan Anderson will get close to max is accurate, Mirza will probably get around 12-13mil per season. I could see maybe 4 years
It's absurd but shooting bigs like him are important.

Well, if that star will cost tons of asset we should be very picky. There is risk you get stuck with lone star and at best average team (like Sacramento, Love's TWolves).
But at this moment with this roster I don't think we should be trying to trade for a star. We have 1 All-Star level player in Bledsoe, Knight who could be All-Star level player, 4 talented but very young guys and few role players. To get a star you probably need to give Bledsoe but even if we could keep him and get someone like Love it's still 1st round exit team best case.
Let's draft wisely, develop young players, build chemistry. No need to rushing things.
