apologize if my comment came off the wrong way. I didn't come on this board to insult you guys or anything. I was just curious if you guys planned on keeping Ennis or trading him.

He did a good job of deflecting the question, but it looked like he didn't enjoy hearing that name. Also, earlier he had talked about guys going out and playing basketball and not worrying about their own numbers or upcoming contract. I couldn't tell if that was a general statement or a jab at Frye and possibly Bledsoe. And speaking of Bledsoe, Babby sounded a little irritated when his name was brought up. He first responded with, "Who?" and then proceeded to quickly say that they continue to hope and expect Eric remains a part of the Suns.

Other than that, I liked what I heard from Thomas and Tolliver. I think they'll fit in well and exceed expectations the fans might have for them. There was a very awkward moment when they were asked what they hope to improve on going into next season. While Thomas was responding, Hornacek whispered into the mic repeatedly, "defense, defense, defense". Thomas looked a little irked by that comment and didn't acknowledge it. When Tolliver was responding, Hornacek whispered, "rebounding, rebounding, rebounding". Again, Tolliver didn't seem to appreciate that and didn't really mentioned it (though he did say he wanted to work on his defense).

Even if it was in humor, I don't like that Hornacek did that. I'm sure both guys know their issues...no need to put it out there FOR THEM just to get a laugh.

Something just doesn't seem right this offseason. The picks seemed questionable at the time. We struck out mostly in free agency. Maybe I'll feel better if Bledsoe signs for a reasonable deal but it seems we may have taken a step backward.

This is interesting. These guys are being brought in to fill a specific role - defense, rebounding, etc. and a coach can't put the challenge out there? Granted he did it as a joke but even then why shouldn't he have?

We made it pretty clear last year that no matter who you are, you can get minutes by playing hard and addressing a need.

These athletes get babied too much.. you're making millions to go out there and play a game. If the coach thinks you need to work on defense you work on defense. Simple as that. Improve in what the coach is asking for = you see playing time.

Lawd knows if you had a coach that actually called Amare out on his defense... maybe just maybe Amare would have tried to improve. I don't ever recall Mike D doing that.

Believe me, I have no issue with him getting on these guys cases about what they need to on. The problem I have is, this presser is supposed to be a good day for them. Let the guys answer the questions instead of being embarrassed.

To be fair though, I haven't seen it yet so I really don't know the tone. The way Coro put it though, it didn't sound like everyone was having a good time about it.

Yeah, alright that's what I figured. My guess is if you guys keep Bledsoe then Ennis will be moved .

I fully expect Tyler to spend the year in Bakersfield, though it is conspicuous that he has yet to sign his contract.

Maybe this is just because i'm a Raptors fan but I have a feeling the Suns and Raptors have been discussing a trade for Ennis. He doesn't really fit with you guys, roster wise or style wise. If Bledsoe stays then Ennis is probably gone.

just watched it. seemed goodnatured. made me smile.

babby et al emphasized repeatedly that IT and tolliver are such high character guys. that means a lot ot me as a fan. IT kept saying how noticeable it was when he played against phx last yr-- that our guys didn't argue with each other, they played hard, etc.

personally, that means so much to me in a workplace. i like getting paid. i like being competent. i like it when a workplace permits me flexibility to prioritize other things in my life, like family and community. but i really really really like it when i'm part of a team-- when my coworkers are like friends, and our workplace is like a foxhole. i just like being a part of a workplace where everyone cares about each other ubuntu-style. so i'm proud as a fan that our FO is trying to cultivate that kind of workplace.

Just watched the full interview. Thomas is elated to be here, guy couldn't stop smiling. Babby is a nut, I really like him and think hes just another reason why players might lean t'words Phoenix, keeps it loose and I think people really enjoy that. As for the questions about Eric and Channing, Mcdee just seemed like he was answering the question like a professional would, he doesn't have much of a personality anyways. When Lon was asked about EB he seemed.....irritated at the situation. Not in a pissed off irritated way but a kind of a "Whats the hold up??" type.

i think he might have been a little irritated at the question too. after he was asked about Frye, Ryan made it clear that the presser was about the guys who just signed. one minute later a question to Babby about Bledsoe?  reject that press pass.

If Bryan Colangelo was still our GM it would of happened already . Masai on the other hand is a much better GM and tends to make reasonable deals.

Except that he said the Suns and Hawks hold all the cards with Bledsoe and Monroe. Twice.

You mean he mixed up the Hawks and Pistons? I think he was saying the Hawks have the space to give either player an offer sheet.

Yes, he said that too later, which made sense. But I'm pretty he mean Pistons the first couple of times.

Y'all are crazy. Amir has a year left. Ennis on a rookie deal with a much higher ceiling. But you guys need Amir. Another one of those rare "bad for both teams" deals. Seen a few around here of late.

Frankly, I think we just went with the player we perceived to be BPA. There's but one projected starting PG in next year's draft, which means that he'll probably maintain his value if we decide to keep him. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we moved him in next year's draft.

I think it's possible we might trade him for a player on a rookie contract, or for a player and a pick. Outside possibility, perhaps, of S&T for Monroe (but I doubt we can put him on a contract we like). But I really don't see us moving him this year.

One fact occurs to me: Tolliver's game almost completely overlaps Marcus's. Marcus may be the better rebounder, but Tolliver's better at the thing we put Marcus in the game to do, which is shoot. Might that indicate that we mean for him to replace Marcus?

Just a thought.

I think the same. Probably we have a verbal agreement to send Ennis to another team IF we sign Bledsoe....until then he is like an assurance.

If Markieff wasn't Marcus' bro, we would even release him or make him play 5-10 mins.

If true, my guess is that team is us (Toronto). Masai is really high on him and I remember reading tweets about Ennis and his family checking twitter to see if he had been traded to Toronto.
