Bledsoe/Bender and both Miami picks for KP/Noah. Only way I take Noah's ridiculous contract.

SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

What does Cleveland dumping Shumpert even do for them? They are still over the cap, I don't see how that benefits them.

Maybe. It reads like it's straight from his agent though.

Yes, maybe a few calls from agent to team "Are you guys interested in Len? No, ok." then the leak to Shams. No, I could seem some team wanting him but the C market does seem kind of oversaturated....there are tons of FA centers and ones available for trade but in the small ball era they don't hold as much value.

Reports are saying the price is a pick without taking any salary back, creating a TPE. That would give them a hell of a lot more flexibility in trades, because Shumpert is hardly an asset in every teams eyes. And they really need to make a more for some player that upgrades them. No fun in being beaten every year in the finals.

So even if we sign no one, and just extend Len/ Williams on fair market level deals, we will still have:

Bledsoe, Ulis... Knight
Booker, Reed... Barbosa
Jackson, Warren
Chriss, Bender... Dudley
Len, Williams... Chandler

Two way - DJJ, Peters

The vets come off contract at staggered times which will give us some cap relief to re-sign Warren (Barbosa), Booker (Chandler, Dudley) and Chriss/ Bender (Knight). I see no reason why we can't just ride it out.

Who knows who its for, but the Rockets want Shumpert just for his non guaranteed contract to dump. They are trying to get another star to join the line-up.

Last night they were trying to trade Anderson for Melo, but the Knicks didnt want Anderson (and his contract would need to leave Houston to make the trade work).

Mirza would be fantastic. Team would play better if we had him opening up some space again.

I still don't see how a deal is made - does anybody with cap knowledge get how Houston creates a Trade Exception to take on Shumpert? Unless Spotrac is wrong - the Rockets do not have Trade Exception to give to the Cavs

Cavs just want $10m off the books to sign Kyle Korver to limit the tax I think I read

Woj was just on the Jump with Shelburne, Elhassan and Windhorst - he was talking Suns, if I recall

mentioned they could have gotten George or Butler or Love, were aggressive with the Knicks for Porzingis
-decided to take the long view and Windhorst chimed in "in the West - you are still fighting for the last spot "

So Woj mentioned the Suns doing a deal like the Nets, taking on Mozgov to get a young asset like Russell

Woj also said Chandler and Knight of course on are on the block

Please go trade for Noah! ;) Knicks needs to keep Porzingis, Hernangomez, Ntilikina, and their first rounders. Outside of that, just take our other good contracts (O'Quinn, Lee, Kuzminskas) and give us that damn Brandon Knight! ;)

But how does a team over the cap just take on salary - seems like a way to circumnavigate the cap. But oh well - doesn't affect the Suns

I hope "the timeline" doesn't become a thing. Feels like a lame me-too thing like the "slash bros" was.

I can think of Noah, Deng, Ryan Anderson...who else?

what picks/assets can we get for being the NBA's dumpster?

I think it would be more likely that it's a team that is desperate to sign someone this off season like perhaps Minny or Boston needing to move salary. I don't think we'd take a huge long term contract dump...there is not enough of an asset you can get to make it worth it to further clog our capspace for years. Few teams would give up something like the Lakers did in Russell to move the Mozgov contract. I don't even know that NY is that desperate to sign someone.

Perhaps Minny or Boston needs to move Dieng or Smart and we could just absorb..we wouldn't get an asset attached and would have to send out a pick in that case...like a 2nd rounder. If we could get rid of Chandler and want to let Len walk, Dieng would be worth his salary...he is pretty good defensively, can block shots, rebound, and hit 3s.

But it makes more sense for the Hawks to just take back Dieng in a S&T.

So you want us to trade a bad contract for what some believe to be the WORST contract in the NBA without any kind of asset?

I mean your first sentence just took every asset that the Knicks have out of the equation. YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH......no thanks.
