I am good with Monty Williams
Shams said the Suns are wanting to talk to David Vanterpool of the Blazers - thats stupid - another rookie coach
Maybe Igor and Jones didn't mesh. I still think this is Sarver
But if the Suns get Monty Williams - at least I can like it as I suggested him last year.

FWIW, if Monty is our target, and this move was made with the intent of going after him, I have no doubt we've already talked with him and he's agreed to come here.
The talk about 'Vanterpool' is probably just as a backup plan (or to make Monty realize it's not a definitive pick which could save us a few bucks on hiring him, I dunno)

It's a marvel how you assume logical thinking and planned actions by our FO when we've been constantly proven the other way around for at least a decade now.

Well it could be worse, we could have fired Igor then hired Luke before these new allegations came out yesterday

My guess the Suns will hire a first time head coach who is currently an assistant - meaning cheap. That is who Sarver has hired - cheap guys. Even Mike D - not sure if Sarver hired him or not was an assistant. This is what makes him a horrible owner - he pays guy on the cheap and than has to buy them out.

Touche, though I would like to give Jones the benefit of the doubt here. He hasn't made many (if any) mistakes in year one.

This is what's really crazy. He winds up spending endless money to fire guys. Just f'n hire the right coach. Spend the money. I don't get why he is still an NBA owner...

Look at how much money he spent now on people NOT with the organization
Chandler - 11.6m
Rivers - 12m (I know about Oubre but its still reality)
McD - 2m
Earl Watson
Now Igor
he does things like trade away first round picks than signs Marcus Banks for way more money than a rookie on a four year rookie contract
i think he needs mental help - i really do. or he is on coke or adderall
And watch this be the first time he really spends money on a coach and its.... Jason Kidd

It's sad that what makes me envious are the words "A new ownership group" and not the picture of Giannis.

Josh is probably on his way out -

I know Gambo gets flack, but that does make sense.
I see no reason to believe it wasn't the case. And he discusses points we all spoke about.
- Ayton's development and getting him the ball more
- Igor not really having the players ear (at least as a leader)

The first one just shows how stupid the organization is: even with Dudley, Chandler, adding Ariza, they dumped Dudley, Knight for Anderson - the team was still VERY YOUNG. Igor was not going to take this roster, without a PG, as a "tactician" and win.

If they wanted the right player with Chandler, Dudley and getting another veteran in ARiza - the player to draft and win with was:
Luka F'ing Doncic
If they wanted the player they felt was going to be the best player in 3-5 years, you draft Ayton. I was Team Luka but I understood the Ayton pick. I really did. Jeez - zero direction in this organization.

I'm indifferent on letting Koko go, he could have got another year but new regime going want to get their guy in so I get it. I also think having a coach that was the 1st foreign coach, struggled a little with English at times, and didn't have a really strong personality was a factor with a really young team, would have been a much better fit on a veteran team. Monty would be a solid hire for this young talented core they have, nonsense guy. will get a lot more out of Ayton.

The problem is we are resetting AGAIN all talent evaluation, playing system, coaching support staff, or pretty much ANYTHING the players might be slightly familiar with.
Odds of the team clicking and producing right out of the gate are small, which means it's another season set for failure, which means more revolving doors, which means...
Not true, look out Budenholzer with the Bucks or Clifford with the Magic just as examples.
Nevertheless, we are talking about probabilities, so the fact that there are examples that it worked does not mean it's more likely to work for us, too.
I have a clear impression that most coaching changes lead to no significant improvement when compared to keeping old ones.
Will work on that when I have some free time.
There you go. Fresh out of the oven:

The longer a coach stays on the job, the more likely he is to deliver good results.
This is just a correlation and I must still test for causality, but the trend is there.
