Re: Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer
George would cost us half our good or usable players. Which I would trade without hesitation.
The Pacers need bigs, but we are not trading Len and Chandler they will not want him for such a contract, I believe.
I would offer three players and a pick among Bledsoe or Knight, Goodwin, Booker, Warren, Tucker, Weems, Morris, Leuer, Teletovic and Chandler. Everybody but a PG and Len.
George is probably one of the best five players in the league and I do not think he will be in a Pacers uniform for long if they play him at the 4, especially after his injury.

We would need to at least include our own pick this year or Miami's unprotected one in 2021 (if not both) for India to consider that deal. We don't have pieces that are very enticing by themselves so we have to find a way to consolidate our assets for a greater return. Strike while the iron is still hot

Warren and Booker for a broken Paul George............WTF?!
Pacers wont trade George for a nice player in Warren and a prospect in Booker.... George is a proven star player (if healthy).
If healthy! Broken players have a track record of never being the same player after their injury and they stay shelved often (see Derrick Rose, Amare, Wilkins, Oden, Walton, Isaiah Thomas, Bird, McGrady, Ming, Manning, et al), so from that history, I will go with my stance, no.
It's funny how hope distorts reality.......
He broke his leg. He didn't blow out his knee, doesn't have a bad back, no messed up feet. The injuries are completely different. I'm pretty sure the bone heals to be even stronger than before when something like this happens

Interesting. I don't know enough about him, hopefully he plays well in his limited minutes.

Pre-injury George, different discussion, but rolling the dice on a post-injury George for two young players that are growing each day....is laughable!
Be real with it.
I agree. Paul George is not the player he was before the injury. He might still return to form but it is an unknown.

Warren and Booker are 'unknowns' too. Whats your point? This is all moot anyway as the Pacers would laugh at us for such a rank offer for their star.

I think we really need to give PJ3 a shot. Now that the Celtics and their log jam mess of a roster waived him, im sure we could snag him with absolutely no problems.

Why are we still talking about Paul George? Our training staff is not stupid and called Amare's injuries before refusing to offer him a max contract. I trust their judgement over your opinion at this point

No way we trade the next Kevin Durant and the better version of Klay Thomson for George!
But seriously I love those guys and it would be painfull to see them traded even for a star.

The point is understanding where we are as a fan base. I'd like to know who I believe is sane or insane, it helps with the rationalization of certain posts, which eliminates my frustration level.
I am glad some posters are posting ridiculous things like insinuating that someone thinks Booker Is Klay and Warren is Durant just to invalidate their posts because they don't want to give up a 19 year old and 22 year old player for someone who is recovering from an injury......

Yea, we aren't trading for him, thank god. Yes, I don't want George.....I'd rather keep Booker and Warren for the cheap and see what they turn into. Kinda like Indy kept George and let him turn into George and GS kept Klay and let him turn into Klay....

Almost as ridiculous as thinking Warren/Booker > George
Post that on the trade board and see what other, non-homer fans think. I guarantee you'll be the only one that thinks the way you do

Re: Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer
I want to see Warren with some serious volume this year. Maybe not at the beginning of the season, but certainly when he possibly takes the starting SF spot by mid-season. By "serious volume" I mean something like 16+ attempts per game. If he can convert at his current 50+ efficiency, plus get to the line 5-6 times per game, he will be elite. ideally he is taking 3-4 three point attempts and converting at around 32%.....not very good, but improving.
The difference between good and great is volume. Coach needs to green light Warren to shoot all he can.

The Pacers are not trading George. It would be like if we had traded Amare in late 2006 for a couple of unproven young guys. Except George was MUCH more of a key component than Amare was...Amare was important, but it was evident the system was the most important factor (and Nash/good shooters). But George made a big difference. The fan base for us would have revolted had we traded Amare then and we never would have...not for what most would consider unproven guys....Simmons trade value column before Amare was out had him top 5 or maybe in like the top 2..it was very high. People thought he was the next big thing. And Paul George is a better two way player who fits into today's nba.
I can understand why someone would be vested in Warren and Booker, because I am, but the discussion is pretty pointless....more pointless than the old Horford and Cousins nonstop trade talk because these are all guys that are not all going to be traded. Indiana is desperate to compete....their owner and GM are non tank guys too so George is going nowhere, and the talk about him not wanting to play PF is overblown and taken out of context.

In Tuesday’s game against San Antonio, Tucker was at the scorer’s table about to check in when T.J. Warren made several big plays. Tucker walked back to his seat and told coach Jeff Hornacek to keep Warren on the court.
“It was two great back-to-back plays and that’s exactly what we needed to keep the game going,” Tucker said. “When you get feelings, rolls like that, you ride with it. Whatever it takes to win, that has to be our mentality.”

Why did we waive Sims and bring our roster number to 14 it has to be 15 for the regular season.

Minimum 13 players on the roster, maximum 15.
We are now in the middle, with an open roster spot.
