no 9 for Vince. That was Majerle's and I guess it's not available.

It's funny that Carter comes packaged with some fans too  I only hope you're not one of those fans with agendas (who knows for what reason) like we had with Hedo for example.

You don't seem to be though. :D

B-ball forever, here's the famous Maxamillion himself who made that amazing mix.

If anyone has seen Max's work, this guys is one of he biggest if not the biggest VC fan of all-time and is the GOAT of making basketball mixes.

Also, thanks alot Cig for the shoutout. I love makig gamethreads so hopefully I'll get some chances this season with the Suns.

Also if anyone wants to know about VC defensively, I wouldn't say he's a better defender than J-Rich, but he is a step slower. He's not a very good winged defender but he's an underrated one on one defender and a good post defender. He has good hands but he won't be chasing for blocks or anything.

I hope he doesn't. It's not like Carter is some kind of superstar to deserve that.

Oh and I've already seen the "VC has no heart/is injury prone/fakes injuries" have popped up already.

Time to clear up this debacle..

He's lost a step or two because of age, but the man can still play if you give him the opportunity. I never felt Carter was utilized to his full abilities in Orlando. The Magic used him more in a 'spot up shooter/off ball player' capacity and that was never Carter's game to begin with. I don't blame Van Gundy though. Distributing the ball between Howard, Nelson, Lewis and Carter is a tough decision to make. He had to make concessions and Vince had to make the adjustment.

His numbers are only going to improve in the Suns' offense though. Nash is probably thrice the playmaker Nelson is and Carter is going to make a living off the quick pace and the crisp passes he is going to get.

If there was anything I would warn you about, it is that he likes wincing on the floor from time to time and exaggerating contact. It pisses me off, but what can you do? You take the good with the bad I guess.

Good trade overall for the Suns. Good luck guys!

If you guys give him some offensive freedom to create for himself/teammates, he excels.

He's had many ~20pt halfs this and last season, and just took his foot off the gas to involve others in scoring. So believe me, the man can still score.

From a guy who's watched all of Vince's games since TO, his drop in offence this/bit of last season was mainly due to decreased role.

He's a rhythm guy, he needs minutes (Stan often sat him for long stretches in favor of his lovechild JJ Redick) and Vince often finished <30 mins.

He also needs touches to get into a rhythm, and the Magic offence was run like a slot machine--you pull it, you get good result with Vince, pull it again expecting Vince again, but other guys (Dwight not included).

And Stan seemed incapable of understanding when/how Vince catches a hot streak. Often he'll go for 4, 5, 6 straight possessions where he's shooting lights out, scoring at will, etc. But then the offence shifts and Vince won't get the ball for a while. And if you run consistent post-ups for him, you'll generally get good results.

Anyways, these are just a few cliff notes on Vince. He'll do well with you guys, and he'll finish >20PPG. Kidd did amazing things for Vince, simply just getting him easy points here and there to get him rolling. The Magic's primary ball handler, Jameer, has absolutely no court vision and passing prowess. Other than the few gaping alley-oops, Vince and Meer had no chemistry whatsoever.

Anyways, GL, wish Vince the best

Hey guys, another lifelong VC fan here. I grew up watching him play at UNC and then on into the pros.

Like RvM, Max, and Benas said, Vince still has a lot left in the tank. Of course I'm a little biased, but I think the trade will make the Suns better. Hopefully this will work out for all of us, and Vince can help lead this team to the playoffs.

Good luck with VC and Gortat guys, Seems suns and magic always have a history in trades.

You will get a lot of quality posters like RvM and Max ( but be careful of other VC fanboys though LOL )

Just a heads up. Don't believe anything about Carter being a good passer or defender. He is horrible in both these areas.

Hey Phx fans, what's your team's stance on headbands? It sounds stupid, but Vince had some of his best games as a Net with his band.

Hi Guys,

I'm another long time VC fan. I haven't posted on these forums too often but I am very eager to see how Vince plays with Steve Nash.

To the guy above, Vince isn't the greatest defender but he's a pretty good passer.

Yeah I was thinking that would be cool...honestly though since he's an expiring contract does RoLo give up his jersey for someone that may not even be around after this season?
