Barnes is better right now, but I think Gilchrist could end up better. I see no reason why either of them don't reach their potential, just think Gilchrist will take more time to adjust. I also think Barnes will be a better offensive decision maker and Gilchrist a more dynamic(blocks, steals) defensive player.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Gilchrist a skinny kid? He has a better body than Barnes and way more athleticism.

Barnes is just not that good. He is a soph in college but not really dominating. I think he is a #3 option in the NBA.

I can really see the Suns landing Anthony Davis. Your team sucks this year, yeah, I know, rich coming from a Celtics fan!

Austin Rivers or Kidd-Gilhgrist should be the players.
The first one will be a superstar or, at least, a hell of a scorer that also will draw a lot of attention to the franchise because of his famous background.

Barnes is a really good basketball player, with great physical abilities and conditions, but we cannot draft a 4th PF for another year.

Kid has Nash type potential. At the worst, he'll be Kidd/Rubio. Someone needs to take a chance on him, I think it should be us.

We can have him for a cheap contract too. Wouldn't hurt...

Big NO on that, trust me, he was playing for Olympiakos several years and I've watched him (I'm from Greece) He's too selfish and always takes ill-adviced shots, especially if it's for the win. Winning the euroleage MVP hurt him bad as a player, he's way over his head now..

lol Austin Rivers is hype.. he is an undersized SG. Probably best case Monta Ellis.

Barnes is NOT A PF. He is pure SF with above average athleticism.

I can see the Suns drafting Mason Plumlee if we somehow make the playoffs and end up with a pick in the late teens or early 20s.

Has the athleticism and explosiveness we lack at that PF position assuming Warrick isnt on the roster for next year.

But Plumlee has close to 0 defensive awareness and with all the recent picks being drafted for defense (Lopez, Clark, Morris) Plumlee may not end up on the Suns after all.

Its been a while since the Suns have had a white athletic player on their team :D.

Kendall Marshall is a nice player, but he is not no rondo. He does not have the athleticism. I think he is a Jason kidd type of player with really no offensive game.

I dont like the undersized SG's in this years draft. Lamb is athletic, but he seems like a mental head case like most players are nowadays. Barnes to me is a nice player that is of the Danny Granger type of player. Good all around game that puts up stats but most likely is not your #1. He will be a solid #2 I think.

I dont care about drafting another PF because the bigs we have dont scare anyone. If you have a chance at Drumman or Davis, you take it. Perry III has a lot of talent, but dont know if he is there mentally and if he can bring in everyday. Reminds me of Odom/Clark.

Last thing, if suns stick with this team, you can kiss goodbye a tope 5 pick. I dont think this team is playoff bound at all, but think we are moving up the lottery to a 10-12 spot. with the talent in this years draft, suns need to trade nash and hill and rebuild now. But Sarver/FO are incompetent and will find ways to screw this up.

Hence I find myself torn, whether to want to win or lose.

No matter how good the suns play they aren't going far and are not a contender,
More like purgatory territory, picking up role players from the draft which is a long way and heavily luck based rebuild.

The suns need a pick in the top 5 to express the rebuild, or 2 picks, in between 9 and 17.
This way the suns look attractive to free agent stars, they see a team with bright future.

As of now outside Markieff Morris, Suns have little to no future prospects.
Not appealing to a youngish free agent looking for a team for th next decade.

Unless you're assembling the cast of role players a youngish star would like to have when you offer him the Suns as 'his' team

Suns are stuck in the worst place in the NBA or professional sports.... ageing veterans, role playing youth, no stars etc, gunning for 8th spot along with 3-4 teams that has youth and upcoming stars.

I will say again, nothing wrong with getting a high pick this coming draft, sign a free agent or two, then gun for the playoffs immediately after.
