I'd easily take Sam Dekker. Especially if we end up trading Tucker. Plus he would be a perfect small ball four in the future and we could lose Leuer and Telly in the offseason.

Sam Dekker and Montzrell Harrell are decent prospects. Probably these two, filler + a late first round pick?

Isn't Dekker injured and having surgery??

I thought Harrell looked great in Summer League and pre-season so would be well up for getting him.

Edit-Dekker has just had back surgery and will be out for at least 3 months. Not sure I fancy someone who's had back surgery!

^^I didn't know that Dekker's injury was that big. I don't know if I want him then, he is close to out for the year.

I really don't think the Suns want to do business with the Rockets during the season. Why would we send a player to a team that is struggling to get into the Western conference playoff picture ... possibly making them better. It makes much more sense to work a trade with an Eastern Conference team.

I hope we don't trade with the Rockets.. Don't think they have players we need.

It would be something like Dekker or Harrell for Morris.. And thats if Morey is feeling generous.

D.Mo would be out of the left field.

Several NBA teams want the Rockets Terrence Jones in a trade package. As of now Rockets holding on to him.

Sources told ESPN.com that forward Terrence Jones would likely be included if a trade for Markieff Morris came to fruition, but the options for virtually every team in the league will increase in just over a week's time, with more than 100 players who signed new deals over the summer becoming trade eligible Dec. 15.

I prefer Motiejunas, we need players with better basketball IQ.

Notes from a Rockets fan

Jones is the one rumored to be involved in this deal, not Dmo. Jones is vailable due to our contract situation between Dmo and Jones.

The Rockets are hard capped, meaning any trade we make we have to match dollar for dollar. Brewer isn't tradeable eligible until January 15th as well.

Speculation - I think any trade would likely be a 3 way if done soon, its a hard one to pull of because the Rockets are hard capped. I don't see Ariza or Beverley going anywhere. Possibly Lawson to a 3rd team.

Houston prefers Motiejunas over Jones long term? It is too much as a headcase Jones?

Jones isn't a headcase. He is inconsistent and that is a mental part of the game if that is what you are referring to.

Most, Rocket fans prefer Motie because he can hit 3's at a higher clip, is a 7 footer, plays good positional defense and has a reliable post game.

Jones is more athletic, better rebounder, shot blocker, ball handler and fast break player.

Both are solid young bigs but we can only resign one and Dmo brings a unique skill set that fits well with Howard and Harden.

D-Mo is better. He has a nice post game. There's an outside chance that they prefer Jones over D-Mo if they're really worried about his health; the guy seems like he's made of glass, and back problems for a young big man are no joke. It might be a blessing in disguise if we don't get him.

Sounds like Jones would be the best fit for us if he is the better rebounder, blocker and can play on the fast break.

My guess is that we would move Terrence Jones to a third team. Maybe we also send Tucker and take back Lawson - whom we also move to a third (fourth?) team.

The Rockets are nearly hard-capped and Kieff makes $8 mil a year, so none of these scraps you're referring to are even a possibility. Unless the offer is Corey Brewer for Kieff, which we'd, I hope, never do, the deal would absolutely have to include KJ and one of TJ or DMo, plus another low salary (Dekker, Harrell, Thornton). It's the only way the math works.

So, even though Morey is the jackass who loves lopsided trades, the scrap deals everyone is referring to aren't possible. I fully believe the deal would be centered on one of the PFs, who have less value than you think because of their impending FA status and Houston's cap situation. To bridge the cap, Houston has to give more on their end. That's the only way the salaries work.

It could be a 3 way, but Houston can't get him under the CBA for just picks, for just one of their PFs, or for absolute garbage short of us loving Brewer.

Brewer cant be traded til January , and I cant see us waiting for that long. There has to be a three way situation with Lawson because it is way too difficult to make salaries work between just us and the rockets. Who the hell wants Lawson? What teams are in need of a Pg and would take a flier on him? Maybe the Rockets are helping us drum up interest on Kief as a favor.

McD has yet to lose a trade so I hope we don't come away with his first L dealing with Houston.
