"Assistant coach Mike Longabardi is the most likely short-term solution as an interim coach, should the Suns fire Hornacek." -from article

The Lakers pick we gave up is looking pretty good right now......

I believe McD is absolutely capable of working his magic.

Right now, it's hard to imagine a trade ISN'T coming. Even if it's Knight. I'm usually pretty chill during losses, but Philly.......I'm not saying all hope is lost, but this is about as bad as this season could go.

No way should Longabardi be elevated to HC. He is supposed to be the defensive assistant, and if anything has regressed this year it is the Suns defense. We aren't playing any defense at all anymore.

Your nightmare is here.......

I don't know if he is the better option...Gaines or Bjorkgren are decent options like interim coach.

Makes sense to go with an assistant s interim, then hire the head coach this summer. I don't know much about Gaines or Bjork, so can't really comment on them. With the regression on defense Longabardi doesn't make sense to me.

I guess im ok with Longabardi (For the time being).

He went the McD route of starting off as a video coordinator for Houston and working his way up from there. He spent 4 seasons in Boston (Working with McD) during their championship run. Select him as the Interim Coach, then move him back to assistant when we hire his partner in crime Thibs.

I'm down with Thibs as HC. The fears of him running layers into the ground are over blown in my opinion. He also has shown he can develop rookies and other young players, plus we have a good defensive core of Bledsoe-Len that he would love.

Draft Ben Simmons #1, bring in Thibs to develop a two way team that can also stretch the floor. I smell championship.

Just sign the Thibs man now before there's competition for him.

Can we make a pre-contract with him?
I dont think he'd work with this team on the fly.

The culture of firing a coach in this situation is eye-rolling. There is an entire organization of people who constructed a bad team here. Fire Hornacek, maintain the status quo. It won't matter.

What is incredible is how many fans still believe that Hornacek is doing a great job.

His main job is to get this team to play hard every night. This is not and has not happened since early last season.

I just have no idea whom would replace him. I really do not want any of his assistants taking over but that is probably going to be the immediate solution.

I haven't seen anyone recently claim he is doing a great job. Have you really seen this or are you just trolling?

That might indicate that they would be leaning towards bringing in Thibs, since that is who he kind of learned from. Gortat likes him.

I was going to say "all of us", but I think most of us already are.

Maybe a gif with Jerry Colangelo looking at Sarver would be the most fitting, destroying the proud franchise he pretty much built.
