Just watch as Safety Pickle goes AWOL under suspicious circumstances.

Not so safe a Pickle if you ask me.

I sent Safety Pickle a reminder PM yesterday, which still shows as unread.
Looking at his post history, Safety Pickle has not posted anything since July 2nd...

Last year we started drafting on October 1st, which falls on a Saturday this year.

It would be tough to top Ulquiorra, who won D league AND H2H his first year, Premier his second, and our football league last year. He has been in beast mode.

I know a lot of non-fantasy players get really pissed with the board being taken over by the drafts and discussion, so another option is we host the draft on Fantrax? It's a pretty good site and easy to run, just do it offline and it keeps track of everything for us.

Otherwise host it on a google sheets doc and everyone in the league has the link and keeps it to themselves?

Or obviously we do as we've always done and keep track of it in the prem league thread.

I dunno, just with 3 leagues already and possibly another 1-2 more, the Suns forum will quickly become a fantasy one!

It's super dead. We won't sticky a bunch of them but may sticky one if someone has not picked quickly. Only a handful complained. For dynasty I say you start a thread solely for sign ups and we can do that draft after the other 3. The CBA league will probably start a bit after the other two as well.

I don't see what the big deal is, if people aren't interested in fantasy, just ignore the fantasy threads. It's the off-season anyway and fantasy brings in a a lot of otherwise inactive posters, so the Suns board as a whole benefits.

That said, have you ever considered holding the draft threads in the Fantasy Basketball Leagues forum?
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=336
They're got stickied off-line drafts running, so adding more shouldn't be a problem.
It's still on RealGM and it would be out of sight for those don't want to see it.

At first I was thinking "No, we should do it here", but the fantasy basketball forum SHOULD be where we do it as it isn't a Suns topic. We can create links to those threads, and have one draft thread here that says who is up in the title if someone has been on a while, and if not, we can just update the picks in the thread here. Good idea.

Another thing is that I have proposed among all forums that maybe we could have a forum champion league where the forums that have fantasy...all the champs go against each other.

I think if our threads were on the fantasy forum, that would get more noticed, and more forums would do it. I think there are a handful that do it...Knicks, Heat, probably Raptors and I'm sure a few others.

Or maybe champ and runner up get in that league. Of course they stay in our league too, but if they want they take a spot in that, and if not, the 2nd place player can take it, etc.

2015 10 of 13 The Premier League
2015 13 of 14 RealGM Suns H2H League (ESPN, can't remember the exact result but I was near the bottom).
2014 9 of 14 The Premier League
2014 6 of 12 RealGM Suns H2H League
2013 10 of 14 The Premier League
2012 9 of 12 RealGM Suns Premier League
2011 1 of 10 RealGm Suns D-League

I do have a 1st place from a public, non realgm league I did in 2010 but this is only counting my time on the Suns board fantasy. Other than that, all I have is the D-League ship from 2011. My results have been generally poor but I've been in the premier league going on 5 years so I guess that's got to count for something. I was the same year/class as DRK and we had been in the premier league every year since then so it was disappointing to see he wouldn't be playing fantasy this year.

I think anyone who plays fantasy in private leagues and researches stuff or knows the league well should win any public league unless there is a similar person in there. I was in a bunch of public football leagues last year and among the best in all. I am in one really competitive football one this year that the Raptors forum invited me to do...20 team, 4 keeper league, to take over a team where the owner bailed...his long term big keeper? Peyton Manning. I took it as a challenge. Drafted last night and feel pretty good. I expect trade offers to come in because when there were no RBs or WRs left I loaded up on starting QBs and have 3 young ones. With 20 teams, I imagine someone has to be screwed.

I was thinking last night about how the Fantasy Basketball Leagues was a sub-forum of Fantasy Basketball which is a sub-forum of RealGM Basketball and had an idea -

How about asking RealGM to create a Suns Fantasy Leagues sub-forum to the Phoenix Suns board?

The Suns could be the first team board with their own sub-forum! I can't think of a better solution.
We could start a thread in Feedback And Suggestions titled "Suns board petition to create a Suns Fantasy sub-forum"
And then write something like:
"The Suns board requests the creation of a new Suns Fantasy sub-forum.

There is very active fantasy fan base on the Suns board and every year we have multiple fantasy threads running simultaneously such as:
- Premier League off-line draft
- D-League draft
- CBA League draft
- H2H league draft
- General Fantasy Basketball discussion thread
- proposed Dynasty League (which runs all year round)
- NFL fantasy league

Every year, half of the board is overtaken with fantasy related threads and there are complaints from people who aren't interested in fantasy sports. This is an annually recurring problem and there is a demonstrated need for a solution. We would like to move all fantasy sports related threads to a new Suns Fantasy Leagues sub-forum. "

If all the mods and and league members add their support and thoughts to a thread like this, then RealGM would surely respond.

I dont see the problem with 3 extra threads stickied on the board. Some people need to chill and scroll down

I will keep them unstickied until someone has been on the clock for a couple hours. I'd rather see other good topics as well, and I'm sure the non fantasy players would.

Yup.

I started off my fantasy career blazing hot with 2 Premier League titles in a row, but then slowed down a bit after that, even if I still won a few medals :

2006: 1/16 Premier
2007: 1/15 Premier
2008: 3/16 Premier
2009: 2/13 Premier
2010: 7/13 Premier
2011: 3/13 Premier
2012: 9/12 Premier
2013: 13/14 Premier
2014: 7/12 D-League
2015: 3/13 D-League

Looking forward to trying to get back up there and dethrone The Incredible Ulq :starwars

Actually, those aren't the accurate standings for the 2006 Premier League, even if I remember u indeed finishing near the bottom

We actually played on NBA.COM that year (back then NBA.COM had a fantasy interface), which is why is doesn't show up in your yahoo profile.

That was my rookie fantasy year. IIRC there were 16 of us, and I remember beating your fellow Kiwi "13-32" for 1st place by half a point thanks to overtaking him on 3PTM on the final day of the season. Was able to do that by picking up former trey rainmen Walter Hermann and Chris Duhon off of free agency down the season stretch 8-) Time flies... Also had peak Elton Brand and Jason Kidd, and breakout year Kevin Martin.

It annoys me that I'm way better at fantasy MLB than I am NBA, considering how much time/writing etc I put into NBA.

I think I look almost purely at the stats for MLB whereas my moves/picks are 'tainted' by the player more in NBA.

I've been in 33 MLB leagues since 2001 and won 12 of them and never finished lower than 8th (out of 12). Frustrating that doesn't translate to NBA!!

I'm in a dynasty mock draft at the moment with the boys from Basketball Monster, along with Chris Towers from CBS, Kyle McKeown, Aaron Bruski and a few other writers. Results are VERY interesting so far...

Return to Phoenix Suns
