Refs being very lenient with Chriss tonight. Should have 3 "rookie" fouls already. Think they're just letting both teams play though

Chriss, going straight up, keeping his hands out, and not leaving his feet on the pump fakes. Bender also with a great spell of perimeter D there too, unlucky to not convert that 3 to close the quarter.

I think Bender's D sometimes is less noticed. I think his length in front of Napier and just all the disruption with his height and length caused that turnover. Chriss with a nice offensive move as well.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, this Blazers team is solid and we're hanging with them pretty well. Ulis fighting Vonleh on the post and forcing a turnover was great, Vonleh likely has 100 pounds and a foot on him and Ulis was just getting low and moving him.

I'm here to see how the Suns develop both rookies. I like following young teams with prospects to see how teams either put them in positions to succeed or fail them organizationally. It's how I became a fan of the Raptors, and occasionally follow the Wolves, Jazz, Suns, Nuggets.

Don't hate me but my impressions so far... right now it looks like Suns are more invested in making sure Chriss is comfortable than Bender, who imo should never be playing the 3 as it basically negates all his advantages (aside from defensive versatility). Plus he's just being parked in the corner as a floor spacer. Not the way to put a guy in spots where he's comfortable playing his game.

Though that could be because Chriss is more ready to be a finisher at this stage, and that's what the Suns need with a guard-heavy offensive style. Bender's game is more complementary/playmaking and I'm not sure where that fits on this team.
