If Booker is going to play large minutes tonight, we need him at 100%. The defensive work load and pace tonight will be difficult for a bum toe. I would not be apposed to letting him start and giving him the 1st 4 minutes in each quarter and adjust depending on how it goes.I would also like to increase Benders minutes as well in this game to test his perimeter effectiveness on defense with a quick apposing back court. I think that feeding possessions to the post early will also pay dividends.
We need more “Shazam!” and less“Heartbreak Hotel”.

Hopefully I get to catch most of this game. I missed the warriors game and only caught the first half of the Clippers game. Portland is on a second of a B2B so hopefully we'll be able surprise them.

Houston vs. New York. Two former Suns coaches. No defense in sight.

Neither team played much defense before the ex-Suns coaches rode into town.

Some interesting stats about our team.

Rim protection

- Tyson isnt holding his own there: 50% on 7.5 DFGA
- Alex Len looking very good tho: 39.1% on 5.8 DFGA
- Dudley & Chriss arent set the world on fire too, but it's expected: both over 50%

Rebounding

- Our team is rebounding VERY WELL as a whole, very nice to see Chriss doing so well there (77.8% on adj rebounding chance is AWESOME).
- Len is looking very bad in this metric (55.6% is sad for a bigman, he's struggling to get any type of contested reb)

Passing

- Bledsoe is doing okay I guess (12 potential ast per game, could be better tho)
- Ulis is the bright side (3 potential ast per game with 8MPG, 20% of his passes are ast, FT ast or secondary ast which is VERY GOOD)

Driving to the hoop

- Bledsoe looking very good here (3.8 drives per game with 60%)
- Knight is the opposite (same 3.8 drives with 33.3%)
- Booker looking okay I guess (4.3 drives with 46.2%)
- Warren very bad (3.5 drives with 28.6% and dont pass the ball at all when he's driving)

Pullup game

- This is where TJ shines (5.8 FGA with 56.5% is madness)
- Bledsoe & Knight struggling hard here, both under 30%
- Booker looking average (38.5%) and havent hit a pullup 3 yet
- Barbosa doing work (80% with 1.7 FGA)

Catch&Shoot

- Dudley and Bender shooting over 40%
- Booker, Bledsoe, Len and Chriss under 30%
- Knight with a very good 37.5% on 3's and TJ with 35% overall (not bad)

Defending Jumpers

- We're defending the 3 very well (all our guards with 30'ish percentages)... Len and Dudley with 35% but I think this is acceptable
- We're allowing a lot of mid range shots (probably by design), everyone in the 40% range, Len and Chriss in the 50% and Barbosa in the 60% LOL)
- Of course Bender is our silver lining for now (31.6% defending in the mid-range)

If we could ease up on the turnovers and fouling while hitting our own foul shots at a better rate we'd be a much better team. Those are the real areas we should be working on the most imo.

So Len's rim protection looks good so far? That's nice to hear. I wonder if he could stop trying to be a scorer and focus on rebounding and defence could he still be solid center. Stop pretending you are Hakeem please!
And more Ulis & Dragan please!

Alright boys, how many times do we hear "Markieff Chriss" tonight? Place your bets.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.
