I read this and hope the Suns stay firm in their commitment to Josh Jackson. Zero reason to move him. And by the looks of it - Celtics, Nuggets and Knicks aren't moving the young guys either

I still don't see the allure of the San Antonio trade long term for the Cavs. Green and LMA seem redundant when you have JR Smith, Kevin Love and its not like Tony Parker is the same guy he once was. So, like the writer says, without LeBron long term, those guys don't make sense. Heck for me, they don't make sense now!

As for the Suns, with Bagley in the class - that makes 5 legit guys: Porter, Bagley, Ayton, Bamba, Ancic at the top of the draft -- seems like its best to be a top 5 team next year. Trade Bled for Frank N and call it good. I am not sure its workth taking Noah because Knight is unmovable now -- - but if Chandler went - would think about it

NYK: Irving Knight - I get he is hurt but they are losing the Noah contract
Cleveland: Bledsoe, Chandler and picks from the Knicks

Suns: Noah, Frank N, Frye, Kuzminkas - cap filler

Suns would pretty much solidify a top 5 pick for one of the aforementioned players without wrecking long term cap too much

I wouldn't trade Bledsoe and cap space for Frank N and Noah. Noah has the worst contract in the NBA. We would need a puck coming back as well.

Its why I am trading Knight as both Noah and Knight have three years left with Noah a few million higher that last year. Let me be crystal clear - I would not take back Noah without somehow moving the Knight contract :)

And since that seems unrealistic - its not going to happen

With those players at the top 5 - almost ready to not make any trade that involves losing the Heat pick even. That might be enough to move up one spot in this draft.

Ah! I missed Knight. Duh.

We do not have to be involved in what the Cavs do. No reason to inject ourselves and get Frank just because, what if he is a bust. Keep Bled, push ahead let's just move on. Would be surprised if Cleveland actually got Zinger, more surprised if they took on Noahas contract, they would very much need to shed someone if they did.

The Cavaliers find themselves far more fixated on a young star, including New York's Kristaps Porzingis, Boston's Jayson Tatum, Phoenix's Josh Jackson and Denver's Jamal Murray, league sources told ESPN.

Cleveland is determined to get an elite young player for Irving, which means this: The trade plan the Cavaliers would have prioritized, with James committed for the long term -- veterans to surround James and draft picks -- isn't in motion. If the Cavaliers knew they had James committed, for example, San Antonio could emerge as a more intriguing trade partner. The Spurs have interest in Irving, league sources say, and Irving's willingness to commit to an extension with the Spurs makes for legitimate win-now deal possibilities for Cleveland. Without James beyond next season, though, the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge, Tony Parker and Danny Green hold no appeal.

This Irving trade process has been deliberate, and teams believe the Cavaliers expect more aggressive conversations in September, closer to the start of training camps. Porzingis has emerged as a primary Cleveland target, but that's a conversation that can occur only with Cleveland's willingness to unburden the Knicks of the three years and $55 million left on Joakim Noah's contract. For now, the conversation is a nonstarter for the Knicks, league sources said.

When Irving's trade request became public in mid-July, there was internal hope that the news would stir the market to furnish Cleveland with a return that could deliver impact to the 2017-18 season with James, as well as the possibility of a future without him. That hasn't happened, and it's become clear that Irving isn't commanding that kind of robust return on the market.

I came here to post some of these links, but the main one I was going to post from the story was...

Boston has expressed interest in Irving and could offer the best combination of short-term (Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder) and long-term (Jaylen Brown, Tatum, picks) assets. The Celtics have made no formal offer, and it is against Boston's front-office DNA to push out front with the most generous offer. Boston knows that Cleveland is mostly intrigued with Tatum, but the sides have not formally discussed that deal, league sources said.

I think the NY part is just thrown in there because Woj plays favorites and likes to create havoc in NY (as well as other places)..I don't think there is any way they will part with KP.

I don't see the Knicks getting Porzingis

The Celtics make a lot of sense especially if Long Range Danny Ainge doesn't want to pay Thomas big money - Max Dollars - but is more open to paying Kyrie those dollars.

I think if Kyrie is traded - Celtics would make the most sense

As for the Suns -- sitting back, doing nothing, keeping those two picks - playing the young guys, A LOT - might be the best way to go. Get that top 5 pick and maybe the ping pong balls go your way.

With you Fo
No trades unless it makes us better for certain. Cant continue to rely on speculation. We wont find a better PG this year, and really, after sitting Bled for a month, he deserves a chance to run the show. Besides, he is our dance ticket for when Boogie Fever hits the league. Long shot I know, but there are not but a few players DMC said he wants to play with.

Interesting article/rumor on the Cavs holding out for a young star and hoping for Zinger. Any doubts they are preparing for a James-less future ? Chris could be considered that star as he certainly is by us. But I think McD says nuts to trading for a player who isn't enrolling long term in Watson's Daycare Center. Especially when the price is Bled plus plus.. Too much to lose for a risky gain. We need to stop the trend of replacing legit talent for projected or temporary talent. The core is set for the next 3-4 years..... Book, Jackson, Warren, Bender, Chris, Ulis, Williams. I can live with that .... at least for this year.

For me with Bagley reclassifying and being in this next years draft makes it even more important to hold on to all of the picks we have in this years draft to be able to move up or down, the top 5 of this draft is really good and then it drops off quickly would like to have as much ammunition to move up as possible.

If they thought tanking for this years top picks were worth it - next year even more so

now that doesn't mean I rest anybody - but I do play the young guys a lot!

Out of the "blue chip" prospects listed in that espn article, the best bet to end up in Cleveland is Jamaal Murray. KP and JJ aren't going anywhere. Feel like the Suns are going to tank again. They want a top 5. And Knicks aren't trading KP. That's the guy you want to pair with Irving.

Their new GM is just as delusional as their fanbase. Instead of realizing that they are losing leverage by the day as more stories come out that LeBron is leaving and how bad it's going to be if Irving comes to camp, they believe that the offers will get better and better until someone will offer a Nets type deal w/ a young superstar on a rookie contract.

"I love Josh Jackson,” Watson said Monday. “Something about him is just uncommon.”

Devin Booker, meanwhile, “always had that edge.”

“(Those) two together are going to be great young guys who can push other guys to become better because they’re so inner competitive,” Watson said.

As for Jackson, he turned heads during summer league and turned up the momentum during pickup games at UCLA last week, Watson said.

With dozens of NBA players in attendance, including Harden, Paul George and Alec Burks, Jackson stood out as “a guy that can score. A guy that can defend. A guy that can pass. A guy that can handle. And a guy that’s a vocal leader. And he has a presence on the court that’s uncommon for his age,” Watson said.

The only way I can see the Cavs getting Zinger is if they also include Love with Kyrie and take Noah back. Im not even sure Ny would even touch that?

NYK would have to be morons to make that trade in any permeation. Porzingis is much younger than Kyrie and controllable for a lot more years. Kyrie loves NYK, but can sign there as an FA shortly. The idea would be to package them together. Trading 1 for the other, particularly the older one, is not a winning move for a rebuild.

If dumping Noah is all it takes to get Zingis, then he would be in Phoenix already from the last time these rumors occurred.

I'd trade Bledsoe AND Bender AND Chriss AND the Miami pick for KP.

Just imagine building around Booker/Jackson/KP.
